Players raiding on pve server with explosives.

I run a PVE server hosted through Bluefang. All of my pve settings are set correctly, with landclaims becoming inactive after 14 days. If a player runs up and hits another players base, they get the "ping" to let them know that the base is protected. However, if explosives (grenades, timed charges, etc) are used, there is no protection. PvP players are entering my server and using this "loophole" to raid player bases. How do I fix this from occuring? I have players who have spent months working on their buildings and do not want them to lose all of their work due to people being idiots.

The thing you can do for your players is got a server manager.

as far as i know there is only one server manager that will actively work to prevent this from happening.

but rockets will still be a problem since those have a long range.

The Botman server manager will help in this area and provide you with logs you can go through to ban these players.

There maybe other options for server managers but none so far work as well as the bot does.

with that said you either have to have skills to set it up or you can pay for one.

http://www.botman.nz is the free option or you can write to the bots coder from there and discuss geting one set up for you.

The biggest thing the bot does is pushes players away when they get near anyone base if they set up the base protection. combined with teh land claims the 2 work very well. it will minimize the damage done and show you who and when they did it.

it will take time to get used to teh bot if you choose it. but i been using it for almost 5 years.

I do have botman on our server. However, I was not aware that it would push players away from other player bases. I will look into it further and see if I can figure out how to get that working.

There are settings about containers specifically and yes, if your containers are locked on PVP you have to use explosives to destroy them or to destroy the foundations they are placed on. Not in front of the PC right now but something about ownership and containers ... On official PVP servers, all crafting stations are unlocked but the containers can be locked. share it installvidmate.com

For a bit of added protection - We have occasionally had hackers come into our server and cause destruction. I back up the game saves directory every hour. We've had to restore corrupt user data on occasion when the server hiccups or crashes rudely, the "main.ttw" file when the server won't load correctly. Also, We can roll back any chunk (or the whole server) to pre-destruction in about five minutes. You just need to determine the region file to restore and we're done.
