Blocks not loading until standing close

Anyone else having issues with blocks not loading visually until you are standing like 5-10 blocks away? Wood Windows, cobblestone pallets, lanterns, small food piles. The small food piles I have to practically stand on top of for them to appear. I can interact with them from further away, blocks will block projectiles while invisible to me from far away. Didn't see it on the list of known bugs so I'm wondering if there's just some setting I'm missing. Video settings are on ultra.

"It has to do with the fact some how "tree distance" is controlling "LOD distance".

 

All you have to do is turn up tree distance and that will fix your issue.

 

EDIT: I meant tree quality not tree distance."

Same here. I've seen it mentioned here and there so I'm sure it'll get addressed at some point. For now, I just make sure to give countertops a good scanning and check all the nooks and crannies up close before moving to the next room.

In my experience, the tooltip (I don't know if that's what it's called) to search the pile appears whether or not the pile is actually visible. I hardly even look for what I'm looking at, I just watch for the "E to search" text to appear in my view.

It has to do with the fact some how "tree distance" is controlling "LOD distance".

I'm actually having fun with the opposite effect - I tore down the cell tower's metal antenna about a month ago in game and every time I approach the POI, the tower is still visible until I get close. :)

 

If I'm thinking of the same POI, I tore out the foundation to make it collapse for an iron harvest bonanza....what was interesting was the building collapse created enough heat for a couple of screamers to come sniffing around...😂
