Druuna
As a special exception today no criticism but kudos to the Pimps. A18.3 is what was often promised in the gaming industry but very rarly seen: A miracle update which fixes all and increases performance drastically! Even the freeze-while-opening-bug, which haunted me since A17, is now gone. The game closes very fast when quitting and I can play on ultra setting, before only medium. Unbelievable! Great job Pimps ... and please do never touch the relevant code again.
Boidster
But...how can we tell that TFP hates their customers and ignore everything we say? So confused... I'm still on 18.2 and, knock on wood, have been pretty happy with performance even on my measly GTX 960M laptop and slightly-less-measly Radeon 560. But my knickers un-twist at about 30fps, so I'm keen to see what Real Gamers experience at 60fps+. The 18.1 - 18.2 change did weird things with trees (playing existing world which we don't wanna reset). Did 18.3 add any existing-world shenanigans that you know of? Druuna
What I have noticed id that they used the performance boost to reintroduce small hordes and increased outdoor zeds. Before there were only a few scattered zeds outside of POIs but now I have to constantly check the area, or I'm suddenly surrounded by them. Walking in the night isn't that easy anymore, I have to run and hide all the time.
Maguvas
I agree that A18.3 b3 is an improvement even on my 2016 hardware but still 8x8 maps are not playable (medium detail, depth 35%, no shadows at all). I detailed about it in a post in the Questions section: I guess I must buy a new PC but not until 7D2D reaches gold
erlgrey
don't see a difference between 18.2 and 18.3, except that 18.3 ate my 4x4.
