TinkeringGnome Posted December 21, 2019 Share Posted December 21, 2019 One of my server mates is having some major issues. We will be playing and he will crash to the main page intermittently. Sometimes it's upwards of an hour of playtime, but most of the time it's as little as 10-20 minutes. I had him do an absolute fresh 7DTD install, as well as a fresh install of the mod we are running. We are running A18.2 on a BlueFang server with Darkness Falls installed. We have 3 other people playing at any given time and no one else has connectivity issues. EAC is disabled. His D/L speed is roughly 100mbps with upload being 10-12mbps. meganoth Posted December 21, 2019 Share Posted December 21, 2019 A hint: Posting the full log immediately would have saved time for everyone, I could have seen if the following suggestion is superfluous or already the solution: Check PC stats, is he using an older graphics card with only 2G VRAM or does he have only 8G RAM ? Vanilla should still work with such stats, a resource hungry mod often does not. What is his ping? Does he use a different provider than the rest of you? I walked him through getting me the output log and it looks like his video card is fine (GeForce 960 w/ 4gb), but his system memory is low at 8gb. I'm thinking about getting him some RAM for a Christmas present, but are there any steps we can take until I can install it? I'm going to have him increase his system page size, as well as tweak some graphics settings to see if that relieves any draw from his system memory. meganoth Posted December 21, 2019 Share Posted December 21, 2019 Ok, system memory might be the problem, it just isn't certain this is really the reason for the crashes. But with RAM being at a very low price at the moment this is a highly beneficial upgrade anyway. Checking and possibly updating the graphics card driver should be another step to remove possible problem spots. He might set texture size to the lowest value to see if it has any impact.
