EzunaAranna
Is this still a viable option? Even on high gamestage? Thanks
Orclover
Is this still a viable option? Even on high gamestage? Thanks Some might argue it is at times the only viable option but that is a flamewar for another thread. Depends on the POI and the gamestage obviously. Trying to camp on a barn or wooden building at game stage 150, not so much. But poi's like shotgun messiah or the hospital can last for months no matter the gamestage. Just take out the ways for them to get to you and and let the concrete and brick walls take it from there.
EzunaAranna
Thanks Orclover! I'm approaching horde night 21 with zombies = 64 and was thinking they'd chew through everything
theFlu
The larger the mass, the more the damage; I don't know the math for the damage increase, but 64 up is going to chew through a LOT. Then again, due to your combination of an expendable POI and heavily upregulated zed count, I'll have to assume you're looking to rain heavy aoe on them. If so, the damage increase might not become too much of an issue.

And, with the really big POIs, you don't even need to repair them. Just get a trader quest there and it respawns the whole thing. You might need to spend a day clearing it, but it's well worth the price.
Limdood
Go up like 3-4 floors in the crack a book POI, and knock out the stairs (to be safe) and the zombies won't be able to get up at all. I'm not convinced they'd ever take the building down...I just don't think they'd target the very widely spaced blocks they need to target.

Once they start exploding (if you're still raining AoE), your POI could be flattened (though unlikely for tier 5s). On the other hand if you leave them alone and kill none, the Demolishers can't spawn in.

Katitof
Is this still a viable option? Even on high gamestage? Thanks T5 POIs are exceptionally viable, defending on the roofs is ammo sink, but its perfectly fine, especially if you have a pair of junk turrets with you to support and protect from vultures. Ghostlight
All true, but then why up the horde to rip up a POI if you're not planning to slaughter them? If you're planning to slaughter them why camp on a POI? POI camping is for avoiding them surely? If you want to fight build a base that can sway the fight for you and save a ton of ammo. theFlu
Other than just curiosity and testing, the main thing I can up with there is "most XP with the least building", for someone who doesn't enjoy base building. Or playing on a PvP server with given settings. But I'd rather have the OP clarify their goals

Or playing on a PvP server with given settings. Or he does a "No Crafting" challenge. So base building is not really possible since he is not allowed to craft anything.
