FOV is making return.

I wonder, if i'll ever be happy to return the destructible terrain instead of static terrains?

Man back when I first started sinking a ton of time in this game and really got to know it, A12 or A13 I think. It killed all other survival games for me due to the fact I can dig and destroy ♥♥♥♥ in 7D2D. I could not touch Ark after I bought it because of that. It lasted a couple years not playing other survival type but then I was forced to play PS4 and ark showed me I'm missing out. But man oh man was it a struggle. At one point years ago I thought to myself, Great!!! thanks a lot 7 Days to Die for ruining most other games for me. :)

FOV slider is making a return for those of you who have not heard. Never think the devs do not listen to us. ;)

They probably had full intentions to bring it back but couldn't because the occlusion issues weren't resolved enough.

Meanwhile, they mess with everyone for a year pretending like it's going to stay.

Can't fool me though. I hate conspiracy theories. Therefore, since I'm thinking it, it must be true.

Conspiracy Theory #2

They needed to keep hope alive for future console updates so they pretended that the console friendly static FOV was here to stay but now that they've announced the end of console development they can go ahead and put the slider back in.

Conspiracy Theory #3

Hotpoon has high connections with the Unity executives and she got them to put pressure on TFP to either return the FOV slider or face non-renewal of the Unity license. Madmole briefly considered going with Unreal but ultimately went with the option of least resistance.

Conspiracy Theory #4

The removal of the FOV slider was nothing but an accident. Nobody wanted to fess up to the mistake so they pretended that it was intended. The backup of the FOV slider code was located the very same day, but they couldn't put it back after stating that it was intended, because everybody would want LBD back too.

...but then I was forced to play PS4 and ark showed me I'm missing out.

I'm a big fan of Minecraft and 7D2D both, due to fully-destructible environments (tho I do wish 7D2D would spice up the underground a bit). That said, if 7D2D had complex cave systems combined with a node-based resource harvesting ala Ark:SE, I could probably adapt. Destructible buildings can remain, even in that world architecture. You can still harvest and craft and build and destroy, but the underground is pre-gen caves or RWG caves without destructible walls. The voxel world would not be needed.

Not advocating, just saying I could probably adapt without throwing my toys out of the pram.

Can I at least get a tameable Dilophosaur...I mean...dog army?

....

I may be remembering incorrectly but I think that when they removed FOV it was directly stated it would be back. AFAIK, it was only removed as a quick and dirty solve for a few other problems. It was never meant to be removed permanently.

So.... perhaps this is not proof that they listen to us but that we never listen to anything they say :D

This annoys me so much. Especially when they let you go in some but not all of them.

Fallout - god the masses of buildings that were just props always annoyed me in those games - even before 7 days.
