Rabbits and Chickens are practice targets. Guaranteed to not hurt you even if you miss.

Key term not being applied by using small game animals as "practice targets" is underlined in below quote. That isn't even touching on the weirdly random variability of range that some of the arrows and bolts seem have when fired.

A better option would be a practice target that always returns your arrows so everyone can GIT GUD😆

Hard to improve when you have no indication of where the shot landed.

Thinking about it some more it could be a horde day event which allows a chance for zombie animals to spawn that grows the longer your game goes. With normal animals becoming rarer on horde day as animals always freak out before bad things happen.

The Horde is heralded by a Zombie Chicken at dusk.

I didn't notice this part was in any way important. I'd take a stack of meat and bones in exchange for a few arrows gladly.

I used to use the old gore piles as target practice. When you hit them they popped in a very satisfactory manner and there were always plenty to clean up after horde nights. Didn't return the arrows, of course, but back then we never got any arrows back ever...

Am I the only one who is never fooled by the new gore piles? 😛 (They look great though.)

I love the newer corpses.  Especially the ones in the same pose as some sleepers.  The similarities are close enough that in a low light condition a player can be distracted for a few seconds which is all the time needed to setup the best jump scare. 😀

Man you guys weren't kidding about the stamina usage when using the impact driver. Honestly I didn't notice so much when using the ratchet but dayumn guys....my dude gets pretty winded taking apart one full vehicle.

I had to take a break when impacting the school bus to give the stamina time to recover.

Do Zombies dream of brainy sheep?

Or less philosophical, do zombies sleep and does that impair their noise detection? If you answer yes and yes, you found a reason.

Can't tell if youre being serious or not. If serious, huh? Can you please use a different analogy that makes a little more sense?

IF i understand what you are trying to say correctly then every zombie outside is smart and most inside are not?

As for the stealth, I'm not even going to bother quoting anyone on this. The message is loud and clear: "we don't care that some people want to play stealth as a core build"

For the record, the reason I try to use stealth a lot is because I really enjoy using the bow, and I find myself having to justify my reasons for picking the bow over a silenced pistol or a silenced vulture. Yes, I know the guns do have a higher chance of waking the Z's anyway, but when the are many Z's that dont wake up when youre pumping their bros with shotgun shells or hammering your way into a safe with an auger, there really isnt much point in taking the extra time to get those one hit kill shots. Most z's will drop from a single headshot without sneak bonus at the start of the game (using guns, not bow) and then at later game when youre facing an army of them you are swimming in bullets and technology anyway. But again, you don't care because its not your playstyle. Here's an idea: instead of @%$*#!ting all over other people's ideas when they don't align with your own, how about you just lurk quietly until someone DOES say something you like. At the end of the day its up to TFP so just take a backseat and stop pretending you have any extra sway over them than I do. //rant

You know what, meganoth? forget it. I'm done arguing with this community. My idea is for TFP.

EDIT: Sorry I forgot someone asked why I feel the need to act like ive woken the whole POI - if I'm halfway through, yeah it does wake up 2 or 3 depending on my GS (sleeper volume spawner) and the POI, but honestly by that point I'm so frustrated by the whole pointless stealth act (because it is an act. I'm really only using it this much as a sort of immersion/roleplay kind of gimmick) that I basically just whip out any old gun and pump the annoying @%$*#!ers full of lead. Its just 819237190238 to the power of 10 times easier and quicker to do that than piss pot about trying to be stealthy when there's really no pay off for it. Yeah sure, I got to pop the head off a few sleepers, but that scripted wight is going to come at me sprinting regardless. If hes a sleeper, well he is Wight, so I'm only going to get that one shot off if I pump all my points into archery and the two stealth trees, craft steel and flaming arrows and use a compound bow, IF i found the books. What a waste of points, time and effort. I should just run in with my pistol and pop them off just like 70% of all other players. yay.

Also I don't mean to be nasty, most of the time. If you can be bothered looking back over my previous posts you will see that I presented a halfway decent idea, in a calm and intelligible way, I thought. Its just a real shame that the response I got from the community was so overwhelmingly negative, and for no reason other than them failing to see the value in my idea. Plus, I'm getting an extremely clique-ish vibe from this little group of frequent posters that is reminding me of a forum circle ####, so I think I'm just going to back out now before I am associated with it and hope that the actual staff have a little more maturity and common decency. This is the kind of crap I'd expect to cop on Reddit. This is why most players prefer to play on their own private server, I reckon. Its certainly the reason I run mine. Maybe this feels a little like I'm the one being nasty, but in my eyes I am just trying to call the community out on stoking eachother's egos. How about we present a more new forum member friendly platform from here on? Hopefully this post makes a tiny bit of sense to you, but I might not ever know because I seriously need to step away o/

I've never had any trouble with stamina using either of them. Try putting an Ergonomic Grip mod in them and getting 3/4 or 4/4 Sex Rex. :)

Please dont tell me you are one of those people, in my opinion, that need people to say in my opinion after every statement, because in my opinion, its implied that its my opinion since Im the one saying it, in my opinion.

In my opinion Roland needs to find a way to auto fill everyones post with “in my opinion” so we can avoid these types of responses.

imho you are just too opinionated

Hey Eko, thanks for the detailed response.  My bad if I was dismissive of your concern.  I enjoy the mechanics in building prefabs and everything that comes along with it (e.g. sleepers) so it is difficult to hear when somebody makes complaints about it.

Also many of us go into "this is how you fix the problem"  mode when we hear something that isn't an issue for us.

Hopefully the devs can add more value to stealth related perks and/or improve sleeper mechanics in relation to them to improve your experience...

Did someone say Zombie mosquitoes was a thing for A20?

I may have heard they're very late game and they attack in the evening (1800-2100) carrying the zombie virus just for you... every day!

So you say you got enough medicine?  We will see, as your only defense is to set yourself on fire or stay underwater all evening!

Well, there's already plenty of flies now buzzing around dumpsters and body bags... Maybe those are zombie flies? ;)

Hi @faatal, remember what I said about NVIDIA discrete GPUs performing VRAM calculations twice as fast? Well, NOT exactly for the RTX3070 because it's only because of the GDDR6X memory and that card uses the previous generation slower one (GDDR6, still fast as ballz though, used by the 2080ti). Amd is on par in that regard too with HBM2e ( only in that regard, sadly).

Now, about using WAY less VRAM ( up to half less) , that one is true for RTX GPUs and  every single title that uses temporal antialiasing (TAA) by just selecting the DLSS 2.0 instead of TAA (I'm guessing that you just mark a square in the control panel and select the resolution intended and desired - ( near perfect 4k from 800×600 base resolution for example).

That means exactly what it seems. By December 2022 7dtd can effectibly double the texture amount and any player with a RTX card ( GPUs from 2018 ) or higher will have theoretically no performance problems (  barring the issues within the game environment).

Edit: "texture amount" means Atlas size in this case I believe.

Imma go off now to get paid for sneaky advertising.

DLSS would be interesting to try. We are planning a Unity update soon, but Unity does not support it yet.

Love a new video card! I am hoping to get a 3070 or 3080 by end of year. Possibly AMD has cool new tech coming soon.

Side note: When did one party member aggroing a zombie start flagging the entire party as engaged? Been trying some bait and ambush tactics in collaboration with my wife but I haven't been getting sneak attack bonus damage despite not being the one that aggroed and still being stealthed. Is it just a 2 phase toggle and once flipped to "alert" sneak attacks on that target are shut off?

Yes, an alert zombie by any source can not be sneak attacked.
