....

To get all detailed about it, there are 3 tiers to melee, hence why people use the term "T1, T2, and T3", but with the primitive age added, they can now be reclassified as T0, T1, and T2. Basically, the term "tier" now has 2 different meanings: the age in which it is crafted/looted, and the number of melee weapons within the class itself. In other words, there are two definitions to "tier": the age in which that progression level of melee is found (so Tiers 0-3), or it could simply mean someone cataloging that there are 3 levels of progression through melee. So, tiers 1-3, which now have nothing to do with the age in which they are found.

Make sense?

I would rephrase that to: The term tier can apply to different concepts and can have a different meaning in each case. The loot is tiered and weapons and tools are tiered, but the tiers have nothing to do with each other.

The independance of the two tiered categories is evident when you look at primitive and iron weapons who can be found in higher loot tiers as well.

Thanks, I was sitting at that sentence structure for a good 20 minutes. My Yorkshire tea must have been wearing off.

I was so stoked to finally build the gyrocopter.....until I tried to test drive it!!

Holy sh*t! Now I've read the gyro is pretty wonky but how in the ever loving hell are you supposed to fly this thing??!!

It was the day of my 28 day horde so I gave up after a few tries. I'll try again next time I log on but does anyone have any tips?

After take-off always try to be level to the ground. If you want to go higher, use space once or max twice and after reaching the correct height, go back to leveled flight.

The same if you want to land, don't hit c a lot of times, start descending slowly. If you are double tree height for example, you would start descending maybe 400m before the target area. In the air you have lots of time, always make small changes to height or direction, don't try to do both at the same time.

Never use "E" in flight 😉

If you start to descent too fast, it is often hard to get back to a normal descent. If the ground approaches fast, try to hit "E" just a tenth of a second before hitting the ground and you will still have a soft landing.

Take-off is difficult if you don't have an unobstructed path. First get up to some speed and then just hit space once every second until you feel you are taking off. Immediately stop using space and get above tree height. Then level. Should you hit an object and your gyro then looks like it wants to take off vertically, hit c a few times until you are nearly leveled, only then try to steer into the right direction.

Where do power tools fit in to all of this?

I thought they were the T3 of tools and melee was going to get more later

There is the statement by Madmole that weapons are finished except for pipe guns and the obvious gaps in INT (as far as I remember). So maybe melee has one tier less than guns and tools and that's it.

My only complaint so far is not finding the crucible blueprint or even a crucible itself. Me and my bro are past day 14. Before I would find one around before day 7. Maybe you guys should make a blacksmith shop and might find one there?

I'm on day 60 and haven't found a single forge or forge blueprint...

Now I still am right because any weapon with a silencer IS part of a stealth core build (in this game), and that includes quite a lot of guns. If you think it is not, please explain

When you get to steel it can be. Before then the "silencer" isn't an option and firearms in general run too much risk.

I remember in a18 i used the silencer on the hospital roof, woke up every zombie, redid the hospital from a quest, took the silencer off  and they never woke up lol

Simply crouch and then use a gun with a silencer mod attached. I don't know about you, but for me the noise level immediately hit 100. 😛

Agreed, it's a shame. Almost as much of a shame that you can't put the silencer mod on a rocket launcher.

lol, that would be funny, almost like the peter griffin mod for fallout 4, u fire a rocket and while its flying you just hear peters laugh growing quiet lol

Yah, for stealthing that was a bow/crossbow spot from what I found too. The zombies were too close to where the player came up to that section of the roof for the suppressed weapon to not wake them up. Not sure about now. I haven't done a run through the place (harvesting the body bags from the entrance area aside).

There have been a few times where an entire room of zombies have woken up from me simply reloading my compound bow or crossbow and my reaction is always, "Seriously?!" Lol

in one of my videos for my knife run im doing, i woke up a zombie, stabbed him and shot him with a pistol, a fat zombie was laying in the room sleeping through it, was rather amusing

Probably way to far back to remember specifics, but if you were moving while you were reloading I could see it.

Decided to test stealth out last night; maxed out pistol/archery and stealth perks and made sure my GS was high enough for feral/rad sleepers (insane difficulty, nightmare run speed), gave myself a silencer/desert vulture/compound crossbow/military armor with muffled connectors and did the shotgun messiah factory. If stealth is much more improved than what it is, it would be hilariously OP. Used the crossbow for the first 3/4th of it and if I messed up (hard to do) and woke one or two things up the vulture took care of it and nothing else woke up from it lol. Really op/funny to pick off a whole pack of sleepers one by one. The only "auto attack" volume I ran across I simply fell back a cpl rooms, crouched, waited for them to cool down, then snuck around the corner and blasted them with the vulture and carried on my Sam Fisher run.

Was fun, but borderline OP.

Some people like to brush over the fact that "stealth" is not a weapon, implying that if "stealth fails" you are helpless.

The agility attribute does have plenty of effective weapons to kill zombies with, stealth or no stealth.

1. Older large POI with allot of "room" to move. The issues arise when you don't have that space and trigger an auto aggro volume.

2. This option doesn't exist in allot of the places with the auto aggro volumes.

3. Try with padded and blades/archery and no tier 3 equip... (the journey getting to the point you tested at is just as important as what you tested)
