Once you've done that I'd be tempted to post the relevant bits of code from the dll's to prove my point but I'm not sure Roland would like me blurting out proprietry code on a public forum.

We use A*. What to do with that information is our code.

It's probably off topic and a stretch to know the extent of what they can achieve but making "realistic" bandit behaviours depending on their loadout, your own loadout and the surroundings is one hell of a task in such a game imo; even the zombies that are admittedly dumber creatures still have goofy pathing sometimes, and they follow a pretty basic "run down the shortest lane" that wouldn't ever make sense for human beings supposed to outsmart you (at least for some of them). Frankly I've had my doubts if we'd ever see bandits at all in 7 days, it's been such a quiet topic for so long now, I wouldn't be that surprised if it's set to be the major feature of the sequel. I hope to be wrong but I think most of us fantasize what behaviour the bandits could have way beyond what we'll see in the end product.

The plan is bandits that can take cover, patrol, retreat, etc. It isn't that we don't want to put bandits in, it's that we want to tidy up and polish the game before we do. We're trying to break the cycle of putting in prototypes and unfinished work every build, but finish systems off and tidy things up nice so it isn't built on a house of cards.

Suggestion ... can the smart stash button add all similar items ... not just all similar items until the stack is filled up?  Or can another button be made that will stash all of an item if there's at least one of that item, creating new stacks as needed?  For instance, if your storage bin has a partial stack of stone, and your backpack has ten stacks of stone, the smart fill will only take the stone out of your backpack to make one full stack in the storage container.  You need to manually move all the other stacks of stone.  

 

I don't know if that makes sense?

I haven't even tested it let alone played, so when I do I will think about this.

a19 release notes should have a clear warning and requirement for players to not use A18 or earlier worlds. I had 10+ hours into A19 play before realizing the problem which requires a new game to fix .

Guys, I'm sorry if this was discussed before, I just wanted to ask if we can still expect Junk drones to show up in Alpha 19 at some point?

 

That was one of the features I was really looking forward to in this Alpha and so far I've been waiting patiently for it, because it was said that it will be available in one of the early stable versions. First stable is already out and unfortunately it has no drones and I'm getting worried that it may not come at all. :(

i tried and cant. <throws arms up in air> :)

 

but you can create new game using the saved files with same seed name. (because they were not deleted)

No, Madmole said a few days ago that the Junk Drone skips to A20.

welp there goes INT yet again, there needs to be a gun of some sorts in thins tree, make a stun gun or something idk, shock rounds only int can make? man int is lacking i feel

A20 will be weapon complete for all classes. INT will never have amazing firepower, you sit on your ass and let your traps and inventions do most the heavy lifting.

I haven't even tested it let alone played, so when I do I will think about this.

Just need to double click the Single sort button and it will move all similar items into the loot container and create new stacks

oh 100%, just wish we had some thing better than "welp im somewhat stuck wherever i set up my base/turrets". i thinkim most sad that you cant use burning shadt on the stun baton anymore even though its a "shafted" weapon :(

Int needs a T1 melee weapon that does not need a workbench or baton parts to make as well as a T3 option that needs steal to make. As for guns that is handled with Robotics with the t1 gun being the Robo Sledge, T2 is Junk Turret, and T3 will hopefully be the Junk Drone. Grant it there is room for a T0 robotics option that does not need a workbench or robotic parts to make.

I know more missions are in the works, but what I think would be pretty cool is if the traders had specialty missions that would unlock based on your perk choices.
 
For instance, if you had gone down a mining path, a more advanced buried treasure quest that requires going through harder material. 
If you perked into stealth, steal some package from a bandit camp but without being detected at all.
If fortitude, defend a position but while taking less than x damage. 
Strength, do a clearing but with only melee weaponry.
Agility, do a clearing but within a time limit.
Intellect, repair something in an infested area but using only robotics as cover.
