In A19 we've seen the new Trader-To-Trader special quest, which is very cool IMO... are we ever going to see expanded quests with Skill points as a reward?

I'm asking because this could give new meaning to the tier 5 POI quests which most players I read consider a bit of a "negative sum" and/or repetitive.

New biker zombie feels op, I don't know what you did. I don't care if he's a bullet sponge or armored but right now he's too fast. Give him a try on nightmare speed,  bleed does nothing to his speed you cannot out run him. Finding this guy in tier 1's and lot just randomly in the wilderness in the forest. I'm all for difficulty, make it hell for me but if proc bleed won't slow them enough to get away with two points into it then you've broken agility or that zeds not balanced right.

 

Burnt biom burnt man. I'm sure this fight has already been had but lets go over this Zed. He's been lit on fire already, when we light zeds on fire in the game it makes them weaker, this guy is stronger then other zeds that have not been lit on fire. He's also very fast, not biker zombie fast but fast. If he moved that fast being as burnt as he appears to be he would fall apart.

This being said I get it you want to make this area hard so players are not going there for the easy birds nests and half burnt easy to loot buildings and easy to spot food unless they are geared to but yet we get tier 1 quests to go there and also at least in the last patch there was a starting point in there.

Zombie dogs now spawn in the burnt biom should be danger enough, the burnt man should be more like the crawler, a broken zombie. Maybe give him a chance to light you on fire if he hits you to balance it out.

 

Why do the quests need to send us 1.5 to 2K away? I'll do a quest and end up right by another trader, shouldn't I be getting that quest from that trader? Its a stamina burn that really doesn't need to happen. Its not even that their are not tier 1 quest sites to go to cause there are, there is even enough to not do the same building twice.

i think it would be cool if you get a Much better reward for going farther! like items another tier up, Extra XP, Extra ammo and getting a double reward (only for 2k and up)

they do set you on fire, but i do hope they will get some good old TLC

 

maybe they could spawn in hordes and bloodmoons!

Take less fire damage

New look (almost skeleton with flesh and burning fat!)

move slight faster (they would have next to no wight on them)

There are equal threats in the pine forest now. Zombie dogs in the burnt forest, and zombie bears, wolves and bears in the pine forest. Dire wolves in both.

No there are finite amounts of skill points, encouraging different builds in different play throughs. If people have issues with T5's they can choose not to do them, or wait for us to balance them. They need a pass yet. Who cares about skill points you level up all the time. I level so fast I have 5-10 sitting around unspent half the time. I stopped using traps for horde nights and just kill everything myself so I get all the XP and try to always have a grandpa's elixer on hand. I level up 3-5 times on horde night so I save late game attribute increases for horde night so I can spend 3 points and not feel like I didn't get something for it. Then all my single level increases can get something good, like each time I level I've got a "rank 4" or of something cool lately.

I doubt it there are too many items to carry as it is. Could put some beer or grain alcohol in them though.

He is the same as always, just a new model. Could be something related to nightmare run speed? Burnt zombies are weak. I buffed them to be normal zed HP at least this alpha, before they were weaker than a small female zombie. The upcoming feral fire zombies will be nasty with 100% chance to light you on fire, the non feral ones will just be charcoal looking smouldering zombies, but not on fire or glowing, so they will sneak up on players. (A20).

Yep, its nightmare speed insane diff. Last patch I could take him, this patch with proc bleed he's nipping at my ankles, I can't get far enough ahead running forward to catch a breath so he basically run down tackles me every time I run into him.

I liked them with lower hp aswell. Though to be honest if tier 1 quests didn't send us there I wouldn't have an issue, its being sent to fight them with primitive gear in an area you should be geared to go to thats the issue.

Working as designed then, the goal was to make it so you couldn't outrun them without mega crush.

oh boy, even with bleed you need a mega crush or the college jacket. So shes all down to the RNG then, definitely can't do that on 25% loot.

I'm sure there is a way, like have spike traps on your belt and use those to damage them and kite around them a bit.

That would not buy you much. Passive sleeping zombies are already low overhead.

Yes and no. It is from load on demand, but mostly from block entities. I've already made block entities preload again. Looking at other ways to reduce texture memory use. Unity streaming is not working as well as I'd like. What a surprise.... 🙄

if it not too much trouble, could we have an option to hide marked location on compass unless we track it?  

or lower the distance for it to show up on compass?

 

I'm one of those that label all high tier poi. Last alpha wasn't too bad, but for some reason, A19 I feel like the compass is always full, I can see marks from 1-2 towns over. And most of the time, mark location cover the quick way point.

That's the entire point behind Nightmare speed; the zombies are supposed to be FASTER than the player. Well, they are supposed to be; only the biker zombie currently is.

Spawn 'randomness' is from the name you chose for the world. Pick another name or add some numbers to it.
