Alpha 19 Dev Diary

Will the transparency of blocks for the security camera be fixed in Alpha 19? Now, if a block of bars stands in the way of the camera’s gaze, then all the blocks after the bars become transparent for it.

I forgot about this bug and on the last night of the horde I lost 6k darts, since the traps started working long before the right moment.

If you can’t answer about fixing this error, just say, do you know about this error? Or should I record a video?

I read up on the character controller versus rigedbody. Since we cant load scripts and maintain EAC compatibility I went with rigedbodies and the new characters work well in vanilla without the character controller. Thanks for the info.

See Xyth, we won't get to ride on big cats in vanilla. This means that you will have to mod it in for us! :p

well that would explain all the unauthorized math books someone paid for with my credit card, as well as a bunch of telemarketers all of a seudden started calling. The final thing that I have been wondering about is why i keep getting pamphlets in the mail about scientology. You have solved The mystery lol. :p:)

this is a concerned suggestion that I've been thinking about.

I hope there is still going to be replayable content once you beat the story. (In relative to what the story provides) Honestly I think 7 days to die shouldn't have a linear story. 7 days to die is more sandbox than fallout and should have a broader scope. I think it's better if you focus on the lore and not a one boss defeat the duke story. This game is played over and over again. If we go through a point a to b story in repetition we will get fatigued. (even though we have side quests)

Solution:

Build a never ending replayable dynamic faction story system that players can get invested in.

1. have multiple factions that your faction can be allied with. (probably 4)

2. have the player make and name their own faction and pick out what there faction wears and the flag. (♥♥♥♥butt faction) you don't want to know what the flag would look like. also you can put up the flag your self so maybe multiple npc allies can hang around it.

3. If you do quests for one faction that faction will ally with your faction. (Some quests make conflict with other factions making it harder to not pick a side)

The quests can have themed poi's to tell a story but there wouldn't be a linear story that has a beginning and end.

No one likes watching a movie over and over even if it's your favorite.

Linier storylines kinda deflate the excitement of sandbox rpgs. example Starbound

video related to why that is the case for starbound

Yes, and that's why an ending for 7 Days to Die would suck unless there would be A LOT of ways to finish the game.

In the end of the day TFP will have to decide if sandbox or RPG wins. The intention seems to be sandbox, so either that, or a little ending in a not complex story which allows you to keep playing a la Minecraft.

We’ll they said it’ll be like minecraft when it ends. More like a vertical storyline instead of a horizontal storyline lore system.

Any chance we can get different quests. I mean a newby fair enough but do the starter quests 2 3 times ya know what ya need. Have random set of "starter quests" like newbie gets the current starter quest. Intermediate should get the next step up set of quests next stage up another different set of quests etc etc.
