Zombie AI question

Personally i'm pretty sure i know the answer. But i play with a relative and he's had an idea for a base in our next game at some future point and since we generally take turns at base design i think he'll be the one to do it next time. But i'm not convinced the idea will work and would like confirmation.

Basic idea: Build a4 walled base, 3 layers thick on 3 sides, 1 layer thick on the other. He expects the zombies regardless of where they spawn to walk round to the 1 layer thick side. I think they'll mostly go for whichever wall is closest.

Who's Right?

I think the zombies will walk a straight line to the point you're standing. No matter how thick the diffrent walls are.

For A18 Zombies at horde time are spawning in waves and afer ome time the game changes the directioen they are spawning so the horde does not focuses only one point of your base.

At least this is how I experienced the game so far in A18.

Well, I just came out of our 49 day horde in a 2man co-op. Horde base is a repurposed Pawn Shop, with all-concrete walls, I've been upgrading over the days.

I've cut it in "half" to concentrate them on one side. Just a simple 2+plate high concrete wall, separating a (large) corner of the shop for convenience. We stand and fight in the separated corner. Initially through intentional holes on the walls, then it turns into parkour sports as we get unmanageable breaches (as in, I can't be arsed to repair anymore :) )

The initial wave came from "non-fighting-corner" side. Just a little further out than the separating wall on the inside. They walked in line just past the separating wall, and started beating on the blocks that would let them in. Friend had some fun punching them in the face. I found it to be the Perfect spot for some friendly fire grenades.. luckily we have our FF off :)

They kept spawning from the same angle for couple cycles. After a while, a junk turret went wild on the other wall of the "active corner" marking new spawns on that side. They were waltzing into our prepared area just as expected.

Inspections after the morning chime showed very little to no damage on the sides where the inner wall cuts sections out. While we lost several block over and over on the active side, so no real attacks on the "wrong side". Probably just some eager beavers getting stuck on half blocks, or trying to catch me as I was parkouring over the inner wall during the night, making both walls about equally tempting.
