MasterZo Posted November 5, 2019 Share Posted November 5, 2019 Hello all, I have a specific question about the main game difficultly setting in Alpha 18, and whether is affects loot drops. I am curious about the primary setting...Adventurer, Nomad, Warrior, etc. From what I have read elsewhere, it seems to affect zombie spawning in hordes, POIs, and Blood Moon horde attacks. This relates to Game Stage, if I understand it correctly. Here is my question: does game difficulty have any influence on loot drops or abundance? Does is affect the quality level of items that drop? I have been debating this issue with a friend, and we have not yet come up with enough data to confirm or deny. Ti2xGr Posted November 5, 2019 Share Posted November 5, 2019 I have scoured the XMLs and don't see any effect on loot. It is a different mechanic from what I can tell. I have manually adjusted the Loot drops/abundance (just doubled it for Halloween weekend) on occasion. I have not noticed any change due to base difficulty settings. BUT there is an indirect effect: Since your gamestage is higher because of the higher difficulty setting you would also find better loot (and bigger stacks of that loot). First of all the difference is zero at start of the game and only grows slowly each day. Secondly if the chance to find better than quality 1 stuff were for example 5% at gamestage 10 and 6% at gamestage 15 you would need to loot several hundred boxes for the difference to really be noticable and thousands for a statistician to be relatively sure.
