Orca_Amity
This will sound silly. How do I cook with the campfire? There's nowhere to place the food the way there is to place something in the forge? I can't find in the crafting section how to craft a cooking bowl. Thanks. Open up the campfire window, click on an ingredient and select "recipes" from the menu. That should show what you are able to make with that ingredient and let you cook it. Works just like a workbench.
Jugginator
I can't find in the crafting section how to craft a cooking bowl. Thanks. You may craft one in the forge (smelt iron [ scrap metal objects, put in forge or raw iron] and clay [dig anything ground]), or you may find one in practically anywhere. Housed sometimes they're laying about, check ovens, tables, cabinets. Same goes for the grill, in both ways.
JCrook1028
When cooking the ingredients stay in YOUR inventory. Sounds like you are trying to place them into the fire.

Hek Harris
Don't forget to put wood in the campfire, without that you won't see the available recipes.
meganoth
Very important: You need to first put wood into one of the firewood slots. Without that the craft-button stays inactive. EDIT: How could Hek beat me to the punch? In his country the sun goes up later!

Boidster
At the moment I can't find where to locate the cooking pot for cooking. Early game, before you can craft a forge (and assuming your trader doesn't have a working one), you can find cooking pots in POIs pretty easily (subject to the whims of random numbers of course). Step 1: find the kitchen in a POI Step 2: loot all the things Within a couple/few kitchens you ought to have at least a cooking pot, if not also the cooking grill. And lots of glass jars and canned food and maybe a wrench or two. ETA: when I'm solo, I prefer not to take the POI designer's preferred path through the POI (as denoted by lights pointing the way), instead choosing to bash through the windows of the kitchen (or bathroom - medicine cabinets are a prime target), take out the one or two sleepers therein, loot and go. When I'm co-op, then I still prefer to thwart the designer's strategy for killing me, but my co-op partner is a boot-licking rules-follower so we tend to follow the "right" path to our doom. It's like he's never seen a zombie movie...
