My experience with A18 b152 so far.

So, ive been playing for some years for now and been lurking in this forum too. Here are my cents in the bin:

 

The cons:

I'm literally swimming in junk turrets, stun batons, spears and knuckles from day 1. Especially i'd like to see the junk turrets little le4ss often. Almost every end poi loot contains one of them. I'd like them to be rarer. Junk turret is so huge help against any mob in game, so finding one should be one of those "Ohhh F**k yeah!" moments. Tone their spawn down a bit.

 

So then the prons:

That rly was my only complaint after playing 100h this the best of alphas ever, the 18! The game has redeemed itself from the 17 so much, that i can't even believe it. It's so damn good! I just love the books and the need to loot! I always want to take a quest from the trader, so i can loot even more and maybe, just maybe have a book, tool, weapon etc again, and again, and again. Even trought the night i will just loot, loot loot and loot! After that, i might build something very nooby and basic for the horde. I rly suck at building and that will be the death of me someday. But i really love the challenge! I've never got hit this much before! LOVE IT!

 

I hated a17 and played like 2h of it. But this 18.... It is now taking over my top stop in steam's most played game. At this moment, ARK survival evolved has clocked 870h in my steam. 7d2d has 740h.

And also, i was a huge fan of LBD, but i know why it was removed. Some ppl just cannot play the game as it is supposed to be played. cacti in the ass to gain points in heavy armor.... omg, i never do that. I loved to mine all day along and get better at it. But this new system, i'd say it's on par with the LBD system. I rly like it!

I've seen quite a few junk turrets but not as many as you it would seem. I've only found one steel spear, which was luckily enough purple, and honestly not all that many iron ones either! 4 game weeks in thus far and no marksman rifles, or schematics from any source including two traders. That said my trusty iron spear and hunting rifle have proved very effective.
