strange situation, need med aid

Its day 5-6, my max HP is down to 27 and the tooltip says i need medic stuff. I thinbk this is a medkit or a aloebandage.

I did 3 traderquests and hoping for a single medkit, looting mainly for books to get finally that masive genius knowledge to put some aloecreme on that bandage.

I did not get one of this. It was intense to do 3 quests with 27 max HP, i dont even have good stuff from the game, very unlucky session this time.

Finally i died on the 4. quest, 7day comes closer and closer and impossible to face it with 27 HP, it feels like a broken gamesituation after all.

I basically started the usual way to collect some aloe and spend a early point into bandages and then i see the schematic gate.

Same with the forge, when you think i will find the schematic for it? Lock everthing behind random luck is bad design imo.

Just my report for a very strange gamesituation.

normal bandages recover lost Max HP and fix bleeding, and are pretty much a duke a thousand (I mean, 2 tents worth of cloth and you're set for a while, same with curtains in houses) and cotton being 1-1 to make cloth means your max should stay pretty well topped up, staying high HP (not max) that's the issue then

Finally i died on the 4. quest, 7day comes closer and closer and impossible to face it with 27 HP, ...

If you have died, the health bar should be back to normal (99+level), if not, you have some bug going on.

In the normal situation, yes, like everyone said, you can use a stack of cloth bandages to raise the max HP to normal, "reclaiming" the black portion of the health bar.

Forge is not schematic only. First level of adv engineering (blacksmith) unlocks it as well. So for 1 point you can have a forge. It's cheap and easy.

I get the Adv Engineering skill myself for the forge craft speed increase it gives, its worth it, and stacks nice with a anvil.

I strongly advise to read item descriptions, as well as check their statistics page. MOST of the more important things are laid out there.

If an item is described to increase max stamina or max hp, it does. On the stats for the item it should show how much it gives back (doesn't have to be instant). I more often than not check new items i see (sometimes old i have not seen for a while) to verify what i will gain by eating/drinking/using something.

I know it's different than in other games or perhaps different from previous alphas (where you wouldn't care less about all of this and still play the game), but it's something that helps players.
