DMPlayin
When playing, the game frequently crashes at random times, in random locations (indoors and out) and with and without zombies in the area. Pastebin log for the latest crash here: https://pastebin.com/dDVjCKzM This only started happening with Alpha 18. Drivers are up to date, files have been validated, no mods installed both in single player and MP client. I haven't posted this as a bug because there's no way to reproduce it or guess when the next crash will occur. Hopefully someone who knows more about what's in the log than I do can shed some light on it so the wife and I can actually play together.
SylenThunder
You have half the required RAM, and your CPU is under spec by a large margin. I'm not even looking at the GPU because it's most likely like the rest of your system. Your hardware doesn't meet the minimum specifications for the game client since about a14. It's amazing that you were able to play a17 on that at all.
lug
i am also seeing the same game crashes. may i post the pastebin link here? perhaps you would like a distinct thread?

I've never had issues like this with this game in all the years I've been playing. I was so excited for A18 to drop and I can't even play it. When other people were complaining about A17, I never had a problem. DMPlayin
To OP, get yourself another 4GB stick Ram is pretty cheap atm. Thanks but 4GB is the most the motherboard will take. No option to do that. Back to A16.4 and War of the Walkers it is then.
Beelzybub
Thanks but 4GB is the most the motherboard will take. No option to do that. Your motherboard will accept more than 4 Gigs of ram. Put 16 in and be happy. Edit: Don't do that, even if you can. Get something better to play with.
SylenThunder
Your motherboard will accept more than 4 Gigs of ram. Put 16 in and be happy. Based on the age of his hardware, it is very possible that it won't. The High-end standard back then was 8GB for a gaming system.
Beelzybub
Ya, maybe. The real point is that it's bad advice for me to recommend updating such an old thing. I shouldn't do that. I will correct my post.
lug
Sylen Thunder, following your advice i have updated my drivers utilizing the clean install, and confirmed my direct x with dxdiag. unfortunately, my game continues to crash to desk top. here are paste bins for tonight's output log: https://pastebin.com/jvQzVXmv error: https://pastebin.com/WxxpbQuH i also used the launcher tool to clean all of 7 days files, did an uninstall, and fresh install of the game before trying to play tonight. thank you for your time
Beelzybub
@lug, I looked at your logs lug and this error "d3d11: failed to create buffer" is what stands out. It's something wrong with the graphics driver or unity or directx or even possibly a physical hardware problem. You're on the latest (440.97) NVIDIA driver, but there's lots of reports of problems with it. (google "440.97 problems") As a test, I would try running the launcher and selecting "GLCore" for your Renderer instead of DirectX. If it works ok with GLCore then I would try a different driver, probably version 436.48 from September. DDU (display driver uninstaller) is a very popular app for cleaning up old driver installs and starting fresh. You could use that to clean things up before installing a driver. Another thing I noticed was that Pregen01 is from b131, but I don't know if that's a problem or not. Is it possible the card is overheating? lug
@Beelzybub, thank you very much for looking at my troubles. i will follow your suggestions when next i play. i use MSI afterburner to monitor temps and i have not seen any temp over 80 on the charts during alpha 18x but i will try to watch it more closely. i will try a 4k rwg next time as well to eliminate any possible pregen01 influence
