Wooden/Metal furniture blocks (and storage)

I love that we have the opportunity to create really cool bases, and can make neat looking stuff to fill them in. I have always enjoyed building/decorating houses in various games, and I like my base to look nice. Plus, it helps me easily find the specific stuff I'm looking for if all my clothes are in lockers and my food is in the fridge (and it makes my brain happy).

 

I like that we can make these new furniture blocks and cycle through them to have different looks, without needing to individually make each different type. It keeps the crafting interface tidy, and I can just bulk create the blocks and then make them look like whatever I want.

 

I am super bugged now by the fact that making a pill case (which has a great graphic) or a locker means I loose a ton of storage space. It especially bothers my brain that I am literally using the SAME block, built with the same materials, but somehow I can store way more stuff in a basic box than I can in the other shapes. Especially as they all 'fill' the block (so you can't, for example, put two pill cases in the same block as one storage box even though the pill boxes only 'take up' half the block.

 

I was super excited, to play with the furniture blocks, to be able to make thematic storage, and have a neat looking base where things were stored where they should be...only to realize that I would need to make multiples of some of the furniture pieces just to be able to hold what a storage box would hold. So I guess it's back to all boxes and then paint them so I can see what is inside.

I agree with the pill box thing. I like how we could create different types of boxes for storage. Although, I end up destroying the pill box for a regular crate and painting the medicine symbol on it instead. It would be nice if the different types of storage had the same amount of storage as the chest and crate.
