Any plans to give str build a ranged option?

I am wondering as the shotgun has virtually no range, and don't tell me to use slugs, as they are way to material intensive for what they are. So if your a str person you pretty much have no decent ranged option without investing in another tree. Also kinda unfair that shotgun ammo has +40% target tarmor on it, its bad enough shotguns have no range, cannot pierce, now your making them buff enemy armor too? I mean if they have low armro values its probally not that big a deal unless the ammo adds a flat 40 armor rating.

I am having issues picking a main stat, as most of the other melee weapons other than clubs are kinda garbage tbh, knives deep cuts perk also does not seem to work correctly in terms of the bleed stacking.

well, the shotgun is a ranged option...it can be longer range with slugs, but the str tree is more about melee isn't it? it has the perks that even increase how long you can swing tools and weapons without getting tired...its not really a tree where you go "oh look, a zombie 20m away, ima take out this here peashooter and shoot it (takes out gun that looks ridiculously small on your beefed out STR based body)

I get that most of the other stats have a longer ranged option, and yes, maybe they should add something, but it seems a...lesser need than it first appears to me (I don't use Shotguns or the Str tree much yet, more focused on the Fort tree atm)

I agree with Scyris. I have thrown dozens of these at the infected and they seem to do little or no damage.

Ah, found your problem. They aren't spears, silly. Sheesh. You're supposed to run up to the zombies and hit them in the head with the butt of the AK. You need to take advantage of those huge biceps.

For BM defense, put bars 4 meters above the walls (3 if you're really brave). Also you can make a covering around the bars like a upside-down "U" so you can focus only on whats below you.

Squat down and fire... Pointblank head shots with a shotgun. :)

For POI's with ferals and radiated, its a challenge, but if they're not in large numbers you can do... OK.

You don't like the other trees because their melee is inferior? Then it seems perfectly balanced.

Balanced doesn't mean that every attribute plays the same, it means with the correct strategy you are equally "powerful" using any attribute. And powerful doesn't even mean combat alone. Strength is by far the best mining build, you are expected to have thicker walls than everyone else.
