Hypax
I am guessing there is NOT an updated Navez map with A18. I may have missed it in the notes, anyone know for certain ?

Hypax
I will. I was hoping for a smaller snow biome with a plains return though
Roland
There is no plan for a return of the plains biome.
bigstep70
Is there any particlar reason, other than the dev's just didnt like the look of the biome/textures, that plains and alpine were nixed from further development. I liked the variety that they added to the environments. Now we have forest, desert, snow, burnt and waste... but plains and alpine make up about 50% of the world we walk on... so whats the REAL reason that these biomes were ommited. Saera
Well, its nice that some new/updated pois were added at least. We only play Nav really, its exciting to have something new pop up in town.

My understanding wasn't that they didn't like the "looks" of the biomes; but that they felt several of them were too similar. So they merged the ones that were similar together to bring the overall number of biomes down; which is probably a good call since it means less time spent duplicating work in similar things. I find it a little crazy that both wasteland and burnt forest were left in if this is the case. They're so ugly, boring, similar and right next to each other taking up an enormous portion of the map. I have a feeling these have been left in because it takes zero work terraforming and outfitting them to make them look like they have life. They know people just avoid them like the plague so it saves development time when you can just ignore them.

I have always played Navezgane, but I've gotten the impression the most active players prefer RWG. TFP have to budget their time; there's no reason to believe they're abandoning Navezgane or simply disregarding known complaints about it.
Khulkhuum
I think when all of the biomes will get the love that the desert got (with refreshed textures and all), we'll be sure to see more distinct differences and like each and every biome.
