Madmole’s Recipe Request

I see a bunch of neat recipes, including some similar to some stuff I was thinking about, so I wanted to list something that uses the cat food but isn't a food item.

Heat Bomb

<recipe name="itemHeatBomb" count="1" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="thrownDynamite" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="foodCanCatFood" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="medicalBloodBag" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="drinkJarEmpty" count="1"/>

</recipe>

Idea is an item that is thrown and detonates(very low block/entity damage) to create a massive amount of heat in an area that dissipates very slowly. Fun for pvp, pranks or just when you're bored and would like a good fight.

Big bonus if it can throw out some player breadcrumbs to act as a distraction item. Toss it, let it attract all the zombies near you and make your getaway while they're chowing down on some bloody, glassy cat food.

Edit:

Guys, some of you obviously didn’t read the rules. These are food recipe suggestions using canned food and having four ingredients.

Please no crafting recipe suggestions and any food recipe listed without a canned food ingredient and/or less than four ingredients won’t be considered.

Just noticed this reading back on a page I missed... Sorry, I just really want to use the cat food without having to think about eating that stuff. As long as I have a sense of smell, I would eat the jar before considering the cat food. Please delete if you need to in order to prevent further off-topic recipes/discussions.

Easy stuff to do in the early game, like an alternative to all of us who mostly stick to bacon and eggs.

Also, many of the other ideas on this thread sound definitely worthwhile to consider.

@Tymevich Belgian Carbonade is a favourite of my hubby's.. he even wants it instead of traditional Christmas fare..

Anyhoo, maybe my humble recipe contributions would be considered for future Alphas.

Snowberry Crumble

(Ideally to be made in an oven if it ever makes it into the game.. otherwise cooking pot for now.)

<recipe name="foodSnowberryCrumble" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolCookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="foodSnowberry" count="5"/>

<ingredient name="foodCanPear" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="drinkJarHoney" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="foodOldShamSandwich" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="resourceAnimalFat" count="1"/>

</recipe>

Survivor's Broth

A thin clear broth that has little nutritional value.. but it's better than a kick in the teeth right?

(Can also have a version for the Can of Dog Food)

<recipe name="foodSurvivor'sBroth" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolCookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="foodCanCatFood" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="foodPotato" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="drinkJarWater" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="itemBone" count="3"/>

<ingredient name="ItemPlantFibres" count="10"/>

</recipe>

MadMole's Surprise

You'll get a kick out of it!

(MM surprise us with some insane Buff/ Debuff on consumption) :)

<recipe name="drinkMadMole'sSurprise" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolCookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="drinkjargrainalcohol" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="drinkJarHoney" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="itemVitamin" count="2"/>

<ingredient name="JarofAcid" count="1"/>

</recipe>

Please can someone verify that I haven't messed up any coding.

I'm just an old lady with no mad skillz.. I just cut and paste stuff..

I thought it has a pie crust like a pot pie though?

no. its just potatoes, cheese, meat, and veggies, typically

- - - Updated - - -

What would be nice is a recipe for some kind of smelly attractant for zombies. Kinda like throwing a stone to get them to go where you want....except you make some kind of pie that they are attracted to and they go to that place when you leave it there. Then you can either snipe them or go around them while they're busy.

Like raw meat, animal hide, and a can of dog food or something. I don't know the specifics but it would be a cool little thing to do.

All these recipes and not one mention of:

<recipe name="foodGyro" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingGrill" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canLamb" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="2"/>

</recipe>

Some other whatnot:

<recipe name="foodGruel" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingGrill" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canStock" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="canDogfood" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="canPeas" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/

</recipe>

-or-

<recipe name="foodGruel" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingGrill" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canStock" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="canCatFood" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="canPeas" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/

</recipe>

Not so much food. The idea is a throwing decoy, as I am just noticing was previously mentioned. The target's focus will break from the deployed distraction after "X" amount of time or a new trigger action occurs within it's range (gun fire, attack, etc).

For canines:

<recipe name="foodDogTreat" count="3" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canDogfood" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/>

</recipe>

For felines (A18 mention):

<recipe name="foodCatTreat" count="3" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canCatFood" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/>

</recipe>

For bears:

<recipe name="foodBearChow" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canSalmon" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/>

</recipe>

-or-

<recipe name="foodBearChow" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canTuna" count="2"/>

<ingredient name="cornMeal" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/>

</recipe>

For zombies (z-animals too. Also, should be limited to zombies without active modifiers):

<recipe name="foodZedChum" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolcookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="canStock" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="rottingFlesh" count="2"/>

<ingredient name="bloodBag" count="1"/>

</recipe>

My two cents, if you're going to participate and create a new recipe using canned food, make the recipe produce a canned food. Or alternately do something like a Can of Sham, use various ingredients to create a canned food. That way you can include some scrap iron as an ingredient to pad the list to 4+ ingredients.

With the global chance of food poisoning on any food not in a can, it seems silly to add any new recipes that don't go into a can. For instance, using a Can of chilli to make a chilli dog, which can cause you to vomit until you die... just for some max stam and healing???

Hmm, how about something that gets rid of the rather unused canned goods?

<recipe name="foodSurvivorStew" count="1" craft_area="campfire" craft_tool="toolCookingPot" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="foodCanBeef" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="foodCanLamb" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="foodCanStock" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="foodCanPeas" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="bottledWater" count="1"/>

</recipe>

Perhaps add mushrooms?

Seeing that the Rotten Meat seems to be scarce in the game and needed for planting plots...

I would recommend a Rotten meat maker...

Rotten Meat Recipe:

<recipe name="FoodRottenFlesh" count="1" craft_area="workbench" craft_time="24" tags="learnable">

<ingredient name="foodRawMeat" count="1"/>

<ingredient name="drinkJarRiverWater" count="1"/>

</recipe>

Not sure how craft_time works.. but make it so it takes about a game day... for it to rot...

of course it can be done in a chem or personal timer as well but who would bug down their personal craft timer for a day...

I figure iron deficiency and anemia would be problematic in the apocalypse, this provides extra iron in your diet and turns some less desirable ingredients into something more appetizing (slightly). Could increase HP regen momentarily? Also, appropriately spooky given the circumstances. Could also use raw meat (5?), in that case just 1 can of dog food would be required.

i see all sorts of nice recipe but im still wonderering ... the order of making can food..

i could cook a bottle of can water with food to get mij can of food. (not a jar because it would be in a can after all)

after the cooking it schould be in the work bench or a new tool !!! to close and precerf the food

So for me all the recipe for canned food should be with a can and water. this food should have an expire date (2 game days) until its closed in the workbench.

For the new tool a cancloser could be something like this:
