Turning off zombies run at night

Yeah but all the green bastards and feral zombies that you get at Crack-a-Book, Working man Stiffs, Shotgun Messiah and high level quests run regardless of if its nighttime or not so why would they not run on bloodmoon at all?

OK I just found that bloodmoon sprinting zombies was off for some reason but I only remember turning off sprinting at night. So I turned both back to default so I may die sooner.

I always play with zombies walking. I love George Romero / Walking Dead style.

I feel the same way but sprinting zombies at night and bloodmoon is the way the game was meant to be played otherwise you really have nothing to fear and it feels less like a horror game that way. Like playing Amnesia: The Dark Decent on god mode or something, I really need to finally play that game this late October but I will probably miss it again this year.

I never thought of 7 Days to die as a horror game. I don't like horror games and I like "7 Days to die" because it contains only a small amount of horror elements. If the Fun Pimps would switch completely to horror it would kill the character of the game for me.

I guess you could say its an action game but I think they intended on horror being the theme, otherwise the death screen would not have been zombies eating you or they would not have intended for the zombies to scare you when they sneak up on you. Kind of like System Shock 2, I believe that to be horror themed in a Sci-fi world setting. I do not remember how many time I got surprised by one of the crew while hacking into a door security panel and or just rummaging through my inventory and getting the crap scared out of me.

I play with jog at night, but ferals run as i like to play all day and night, not sit holed up in a POI or base for 8 hours a day. I die of boredom when I do that.

That was the reason I turned it sprint at night so I can do some night scavenging and not sit holed up until 4:00 am and the more I think about it the more I think I will play with it off and have sprint at bloodmoon only and of course feral sprint as well. Jog sounds like a good suggestion at night. What is the difference between jog, run and sprint?

I've gone back and forth with our server settings in regard to the jog & run at night. Sprint, we reserve for Horde night. Jogging zombies are quite easy to avoid at night if you so desire and are slow enough for an easy kill. Running, when we have more experienced players is where we tend to set it - A bit more challenge.

Every time I heard that music change at 22:00 I always thought to myself "that won't stop me", but then that music is there for a reason and it adds tension to the game at night. Someone noted that hanging around for 6 hours game time keeping from being seen is a waste of time and is boring and I definitely agree, so I think having jog at night is a good trade-off of "some tension" and not hiding so you can go out and scavenge and not waste time before bloodmoons.

Am I the only one who continues to use the term "bloodmoon"? Everybody says "horde night" now.

This brings up an interesting question. Do people create servers to play SP? I have read some posts where this seems to be what some people do - If I read them correctly anyway. If so what would be the reason for running a server to play SP? I have a decent Gaming Rig (i7 860 @ 3.3GHZ, 16GB DDR3 667MHZ and a GTX 1080) that I play on, so If I was using it for a server would I be able to play on that PC or If using my somewhat crappy HP PC running 7 Days To Die as a server would this allow my Gaming PC to use less resources? This may be a question in a different forum I realize but rather than creating a new thread I could just ask here instead.

On my server, there are often nights I am alone. I have a similar rig and haven't seen much difference between just playing/hosting on mine when I am the only one playing. However, when I used to host/play on the same rig, I could see the hit easily. Once I setup my first server, it was hard to go back. There are nights where we have 12 people on and other times where it is quiet. Either way, it definitely changes the feel of the game when "real" people join in, even if it is just on occasion. I don't think you'd see much of a difference, but maybe a few extra frames on Bloodmoon.

Thank you, I was wondering If I could increase FPS if an old server was to do most of the work. I would love to play with others but I have had bad experiences 80% of all my online gaming, I could go on with of list of things people have done to feel this way but lets just say it never crosses my mind to play multiplayer on any game.

Even though the 20% was a great time playing I will always remember the jackholes that like to screw around rather than play.

...That's why I'm one of the admins on our server. Our server has similar specs (I-7 3.6, 24GB RAM, and a Samsung EVO SSD). Interestingly enough, almost everyone that wanders onto my server tends to be a bit older in the general demographic (40-65 yrs. old). I suspect it might be partially due to the type of setup required to play this game smoothly. Anyone that steps out of line in regard to respect of others within the game or is caught cheating is immediately banned. Luckily, I can recall having to kick maybe five players in total including a couple of hackers. Very few that have joined were disrespectful of others. It's pretty easy within the game to determine their steam ID and then just add them to the ban list. We have clans that join. I'll see groups come on from a specific area of the world at different times. I have the world backed up hourly so I can roll back any chunk to fix any vandalism. You are welcome to test in my current game server to see the difference in frame rates on hosting on a separate system - Geek Gaming 17.4 is the name of the server.

I am 51 myself and will be 52 in November so I can see the age difference an important factor, especially with certain games. I would say most of the clowns I played with could be kids that get bullied in school and then get take it out in game by killing their own teammates and that type of thing.

I would like to find a few guys I could play with and keep it to just that but I am still leery of trying it, so I am happy with just SP and I know I am missing out but that is on me.

I started a new game with Nitrogen to get rid of the burned forest biome which I hate and I have the settings as jog at night I guess because I am a wimp at starting out. However when you reach a certain level say 100 and you raid a decent sized store like Crack-a-Book or Shotgun Messiah you will encounter more feral than regular zombies be it day or night so at that point you still have the challenge but you can still go out night scavenging without being overrun taking apart a car with a wrench or mining.

Before i started playing 7dtd i have seen a few videos from people playing, so i had a general sense of what to come. Still, i mostly came out at night, cautiously at first, but decisively after i got accustomed with the game. It ia doable, it is tense, it is loads of fun.

Also never played with others, perhaps some day it will change.

Ah a Stonekeep veteran. I don't really like to go out at night because of the poor headlights on the vehicles and I just prefer to only do what I absolutely have to such as mining or car salvaging but I do not do any quests at night or much looting inside of any buildings. I guess you could say I am a bit wimpy but I would rather tend to the forges and do my crafting or repairs at night and then about 6:00 when the light is out I go out and do quests and scavenge buildings and anything else I need to do.

I was really confused for a while on how every bloodmoon all the zombies even the feral and radiated ones were just walking and I thought I was some kind of bad-ass picking them off one by one until I realized I had turned bloodmoon to walk somehow of which I really do not remember doing. So now it is more exiting, like Halloween every 7 days now once I turned it back to the default sprint.

Not really much said here but I wanted to comment on Stonekeep, which I never finished and got stuck in, but it was a cool game.
