Tonytocayjuega
Im 100% lost. So I've played a bunch of this game on PS4 and recently got this on PC during the steam sale. I'm doing a random seed and about 20 minutes in. I spawned in the wasteland, died, and now I'm in a snow biome. I could use some tips if anyone knows the differences between console and PC. It feels like a different game.
Fox
It feels like a different game. That would be because it is. Console updates stopped over a year ago due to Telltale being dumb and were never anywhere near current with the PC version even on initial release. The PC version is A17 while the console version is like I think a more console friendly unstable version of A12? Keep playing it though, you'll get the hang of it eventually and will quickly realize how much better and more stable it is over the console version. And if by chance you really don't like it, you could always switch over to an older version of the game.
Roland
Play two days in Navesgane on scavenger difficulty to get your feet wet. Then start over on random gen and dive in.
Bulldog44
Hey Tony, I recently did the same thing. Am doing similar to what Roland said. I have been playing the Steam version on my Nvidia shield. It is in some ways much better, in others eh, not so much. No more build 1000 arrows to increase your weapon smithing, as far as I can tell there are only 6 levels of tools/weapons. You get there by spending skill points. I don't think meat attracts zombies anymore. Takes much more to build splints. Night time is way less productive, only thing to do as far as I can tell is dig under your spot and get experience points and resources. Dogs aren't as fierce but wolves and vultures are *^%^(@&$. The compound bow is the best archery option. Do jobs from the traders, lots of exp. and some good money. No more picking cotton or flowers, gotta smash them. Carrying stuff is very tough initially, you only have so many free spaces til you are trudging along like an elephant riding a snail. The land claim keeps zombies from spawning at your location but I have had glitches where they do and have done so inside a trader ( didn't have a land claim there a dog just appeared inside, all doors shut ) . Feel free to ask and I will share what else I know.
Sawth77
I came over from console to pc a while back, and was in the same boat. Fox and Roland have the right of it though, just take your time and get used to the differences between the two. After a bit, you'll be just fine. Tonytocayjuega
Thanks for the replies. So far the biggest surprise is the half dozen zombies+ in just about every building I've gone into. My old first step of finding an apartment building to loot and build my first base on the roof of is no longer valid. I will say between that and losing the hidden/hunted eye when crouched I'm freaked out during this game for the first time in a long time. From what I'm reading about hords cutting through bases like butter I'm not looking forward to my first night 7.
n2n1
Don't play on consoles in 7DTD. On consoles it is necessary to play console exclusives.
canadianbluebeer
Turn down the "AI Block Damage" settings as well. I have it turned down, because I don't like the zed stacking/area bonus thing. (btw, that just lowers damage to BLOCKS... has zero effect if they hit YOU!.. just sayin)
