So far everything about alpha 18 looks amazing. Only concern is the amount of high end loot (green/blue) found even before day 7. Some of the streamers had tons of blue and green tools and weapons. It was seriously wrong. The balance for leveling looks wonderful. The xp and slow gain of levels looks right.

 

The ability to find high end tools/weapons seems to easy. Monday I will get a feel for that myself.

 

My recommendation based on what I have seen is to gate loot tables to levels such that you can only get items one level higher. If you are level 1-15 then base items and one level higher, if you are levels 16-30 then another level higher. Otherwise what is the point to continually going forward.

 

Now this is for loot. Crafting your items should have no level gate or be less than the loot penalty. A small bonus for early game to crafters gaining a small edge over looters. Just my take on things.

 

I love looting, I love the new way loot is not generic and has different stats. Personally I love the early game and gaining late game gear to early makes it way to easy, at least for me.

 

This is not a complaint, merely an observation. Monday I will get a much better feel for this. I can only base my observation on the 12+ hours of streams and youtube things I have watched since yesterday.

 

Great job on alpha 18. I want to play so bad.

I suppose you listen this question often but i'm one of those soloplayer and after 1k+ hours and some Axx i'm questioning myself if you still have plan for bandit/npc helper or something else for an Alpha or it's one of those thing who can maybe add in the future after the release ?

 

Bandits are coming to the game.

i have a idea for a POI

 

the duke casino

 

its a tire 5 POI that scene dukes are the money of the wasteland. many people go there and had died there. and its a natural death trap and because of that its a wasteland legend about what hides in there.

 

it can also explain why there casino coins.

This has been planned for years.

Food poisioning that you need to eat to get your hunger up but you can get food poisoning again? Yall are crazy

 

Eat canned food or buy Iron Gut. Its happened once in a hundred hours at 3%, I turned it up to 4% and still haven't gotten it.

Well, it reads: 5760/240 (oil shale), thus crafting ten oil with 5760 oil shale, unless I'm that blind. :p It's fine, it's fine; it's just a little bit exessive compared to previous alphas. Lol

 

Its 24 shale for 1 oil, which you will never ever craft because oil is not used for repair kits now and its applications are limited.

Why do we have to wait till the streamers are done playing before we the paying members get to use A18? I see no benefit to having them have it first.

 

Streamers are for those who don't have the game, those of us who have 4 copies of 7DTD or even 1 copy don't really care to watch someone else play - we just want to play!

 

So lets get it Today/Sunday please.

 

The benefits have been listed innumerable times and I’ve seen you in those threads where the benefits have been listed. If you can see no benefits then you haven’t been paying attention. If you have been paying attention and just don’t believe in the benefits that have been laid out then the more important question to ask yourself is what emotional response is preventing you from believing and acknowledging the reasons.

 

As for paying customers, we all have received what we paid for. Show me on your receipt where your $25 granted you access to closed development builds upon demand. If you as a paying customer want exactly what you paid for then boot up any version from Alpha 9 through Alpah 17.4 and get some more value for your purchase. You can include A18-e to that list once it comes out of closed development status and enters early access status on Monday.

Hill deco rules are probably too harsh, forests have not been thinned.

 

Ok, I suppose the foliage will be reduced when there are slopes. (more than before)

Its a bit too "reduced" in RWG currently in mountainous locations.

 

The new RWG looks great btw. Stamps really rule in random world gen.

mm could answer much better-- but I think the quality only changes the wear n tear. and mod slots. not damage or amounts harvested,,, so it shouldn't make that much of a game breaking change.

I saw you watched the Twitch-Stream by Grumbul where he use that post-processing app.

I can only image the dislike building up for you;)

 

It really looked awful when messing around with the colors / saturation.

The default looks way better.

Is this AI behavior a known issue or "work as intended"?

(getting the AI stuck in a loop - pathing , falling, and again trying the same path to no avail)

 

 

Grumbul`s chat was disappointed it still works, everyone kinda hoped he will die trying to cheese the 1st horde. ;)

 

the only time he got hit was when few zombies collided with each other forcing/allowing them to path differently.

 

luckily the random AI made sure at least few zombies were still a threat, hitting support blocks.

 

anyways, i like what i see so far, cant wait to get my hands on a18.

 

Looks fine to me, that crap won't fly with 12 or 16 zombies or at a later game stage.

Well how bad is the food poisoning you get? Is it merely annoying and you have to eat a couple more rations for a few minutes or is it THIS IS THE END OH FRIEND DEATH, TAKE ME TO PARADISE!!...and you might as well eat some glass to get it over with?

Rolling garage doors can be put together in a square and opened resulting in an elevated platform that Zds can't hit (only spitters).

 

Nice exploit until you guys put a garage door frame to the model and make them hittable when open.

 

Saw that in Games4kickz stream.

 

Bugs are extremely rare and minor in this build. Why not release it today? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my nails.

Would the theoretical, perfect Duke's Casino be the final dungeon with The Duke himself? Or just a high-tier area?

 

it could be a POI that would be High risk but high reward (for cash)

 

there could be like traps and other stuff.

 

 

(maybe there there could be a award called the Duke press maybe)

(you cant craft it but with brass and clay you can make dukes but sometimes you have to repair it) (or there could be a dispenser for old cash it can give you dukes again you cant craft and has it limit per day. but there very rare and you cant craft it)

Yes this is the first version using the new framework, we will be able to improve it more towards gold.

Stats are random, so a blue might be a POS but generally isn't. It generally keeps you in the orange and brown for a while, but there is always that lucky rare drop, but we might have to nerf it more.

Yeah Rick ate one last night and got lucky :) Its kind of fun wondering if you blow chunks or not tbh. Last night I couldn't find animals anywhere, not sure if Rick and Latan cleared them our or what, but it was fun scrounging for food, I spent all my money on ak ammo and canned foods.

It was too much, but I did see the potential so we actually adjusted our default more like what he was doing and its more vibrant than what we had (but not broken icons and hud like his). Todays version should be more vibrant if that update went out to them. I posted a screen here:

so its like Africa???. you have a higher chance to find guns weapons and Ammo then food lol.
