New A17 Settings :/

I have recently downloaded the new update, and immediately I'm annoyed. As soon as I create a game I log in with about 5 FPS. I have a pretty low end computer, but before I was always able to run this game at at least 30 FPS, by turning down the resolution scale. But with this new update, it reset all my settings - OK, no big deal just change them back to what they were - but no, instead all the settings are different, and the only way from be to play at 30 FPS to to turn down the resolution so that I have to play in a tiny boxed screen surrounded by black. I would understand if that's how it was before too, but why on Earth did you have to go and change the available settings when they worked before?

Try turning off Shadows, that can have a big impact for some people. It also depends on what your graphical card is and what amount of memory is available.

Performance has been a mixed bag with people reporting better result and people reporting very bad results.

You mean windowed mode?

You should be able to play in full screen mode with lower resolution. If you have black bars in full screen mode you might want to check the settings in your driver or monitor.

I hate to do this, but I am doing to dis your motherboard.

Your motherboard is SOOO OLD, that when she downloads music, her dialup modem plays the music with beeps and boops.

Your motherboard is SOOO OLD, that when she gets a virus she just laughs and says "at my age I got everything from A to C+".

Your motherboard is SOOO OLD, that she no longer has a HARD drive, just a FLOPPY DISK...

okay that last one was disgusting, I'm outta here cause things are gettin weird again.

v17 needs a better graphic card. its not a "setting issue".

v16 was not upgradeable anymore because it would had to use vast amounts of RAM and processor power if they would continued to add things. it will never be like before if you have a cheap graphic card, you have to buy new hardware or stay on the old game version.

Game develops further

More assets, more FX, more AI,.....

See the other way, you had 5 years to spare for a better PC since EA started

I mean... I didn't feel the need for a better card until this update, that's my point. It worked before (and its my graphics, I know) and this update made the practically impossible to play, even with more assets, more fx, and more AI (which AI & assets don't have to do with graphics settings so much) the developers should have found a way to keep the A16 settings so that is A17, even though you CAN have higher settings, you can also turn down the settings and graphics just as low as you could in A16.

Upgrade that video card. It's the only thing holding that system back tbh. GTX 1060 6GB is quite affordable and should push at the very least 60 fps @1080p

I want a new GP but, in my country, you hardly find 1050 in the market, and the 1060 you have is twice the price of what really costs outside the country. I'm still looking for something but not much hope.

And today, lets fill 2 liter water in a 1 liter container...

Go two steps backward and try to look at this in a objective way

You do need to ask objectively, is the extra graphical pressure really worth the increased cost of some people.

The trees got changed, we lost a biome to reduced graphical pressure ( textures etc ), car textures got merged etc. So changes had been made to reduce this. But when you see the amount of new textures and polygons on the buildings and especially the light / shadow changes, those really eat into the graphical budget.

I am on a 8core/1070 and i still turn off shadows etc because they hit the GPU way too much. Its not like the game goes from mindcraft to The Division graphics with some of the new light and shadow changes. The jump up in graphics in regards to lighting and shadows might simply not be worth it for a some people. Especially if you live in a country where its hard or very expensive to get a new graphical card ( or maybe people do not have the money, not everybody has a lot of disposable income when they are young ).

Even if you buy it 1060 6GB, around 20-30min gameplay, eventually you will get the microstutter lag still and this also happen to higher end GPU.. The v17.1 still not yet well fix the performance in game as well.
