Dear Diary: B240 Start on Default without traders

Because some new players still encumber i decided to make a picture heavy diary where i explain my decisions

* On a map i dont know (Seed: "Survivor Style") (heres the link i did not really look)

* Without traders (removed all 4 from the worlds Prefabs XML)

* On Default settings

Hehehe not so good like the Q5 auger i had once in my startcontainer, but still ...

So , i know now that i am in Snow biome, means i take me the time and Harvest 100+ Snowballs for water

In my front is a small cabin i will check as soon as i have the startquests and a Ironclub

Snow is nice for nights, you can see something, means i will make my base near the border to green but inside Snow with a campfire in it.

 

A few minutes later

lol, most of my RWG saves start in the wastelands, play smarter, stick to roads, get through. No need to restart for a more favorable biome lol.

 

Exactly. In the second picture you can see the road leading to trees of a forest biome.

 

It probably would be better to do the starting quests first because of the safety zone (good point, Jax) and you should have at least a club before going somewhere. Walk and maybe even stealth-walk to always have your stamina up. Onyl run for short sprints and immediately stealth afterwards and look around. Have stones in your toolbelt to divert dogs or zombies, if they have spotted you.

So the 3rd game

Start in green, nothing special, i made my starterquests and then i moved on

Looks like moving south was a good decision, i hope i find water in the town

For the first day the stone shovel is a nice weapon (long range)

You do what 100s of other players do and that's bolt out of your starting zone and spawn zombies, then blame the game for killing you.

 

How big are the starting zones? On a recent game, I did my starter quests, then went the less than 100m to the trader (I thought it was kind of lucky). That's when a dozen lumberjack zombies swarmed the compound.

What was exactly what i did, i followed a road that leaded the shortest way out of the biome, i died on that road

 

You do what 100s of other players do and that's bolt out of your starting zone and spawn zombies, then blame the game for killing you.

 

Looking forward to the rest of this. I think it will provide some valuable insight into you as a player. It already has.

I made my Startquest in the startsafety bubble, but to leave the biome i need to leave this place. Whats your point ?

Well Dog 1 Surprised me, dog 2 Came direct after that and fighting the 2nd dog i had aggro from 2 Zombies, exhausted by this fight the 3rd dog attacked togeter with a vulture

Well this is new to me, i can distract dogs by throwing stones DURING they chase me ?

Because of the picture of a cooking pot (which I don't see anywhere in the picture by the way) I assumed you were going into that direction, to get the pot and then further into that direction.

? Where are you talking about an issue with the trader quest, where are the pictures?

Trader quest is not necessary to get the perk points.

All pictures are showing you in the middle of the wasteland with a stone axe in hand. I should have looked into your toolbelt though, sorry.

If you run away far enough it should be possible (at least Roland told this as a way to lose zombies at night). It was also possible to shoot at zombies, stealth-run to a new location at least ~8 blocks away and they will just go to the place you shot from.

Trader quest is not necessary to get the perk points.

But you can see in this screenshot that i have finished all Starterquests (and deleted the Trader quest)

The problem was simply that one fight lead into the next and so i had no option to sneak, rest, or what i would have done, nerpole to get the few seconds i need to survive. The 3rd dog gave me bleeding with the first bite arround one second after i saw him. And at the start thats a instandkill that bleed for 10 seconds.

However day 2 is over and i had all luck i asked for

 

Near my base (well more or less safe roof) i found a working workbench

I remembered that i saw a school on my way southwards, and as i know a good place for clothes

In the bar next to my roof i found a cooking pot and on a other roof a easy accessable hidden cache

So that at end of day 2 this is my status

My next aims are

Next day i will start to loot the more dangerous hidden stashes, and then i try to reach level 10. I really need to repair my tools

* Tools are repaired and i have Forged Iron to repair

Well thats all nice, i have usable equipment, Found a hoe, so in a few days food is no longer a issue. So i guess its wise to start upgrading the poi for the 7th day, so that i can focus the 2nd week on leveling and the 3rd on looting (who knows how long i play this game until 17.1 drops in experimental)

all on default = 60 minutes

 

But

If your play is teaching me anything Royal it is that I am not wrong when I say the challenge is gone.

 

Sure you did get nailed by the dogs, but on your forest start you have had a damn good game, with a workbench. All before day 3.

This place i choosed for my first base is really really nice. I had worse starts on seeds i scouted before i started

 

 

But yes, for the veteran player A17 is allready ... well not difficult ^^

Theres not much to say about day 4.

* The garden is growing (to few seeds to feed me)

* The forge is smelting

* My food is nearly empty

 

So i decided to make tours further away to:

* Loot cars for a mining helmet

* Hunt for meat

* Search farms for seeds

* Harvest some boulders

 

And hell yes, behind every corner this map has positive surprises for me^^
