Negative health?

So for a long time it's been possible in the game through stimulants to make the stamina bar totally not a problem. Why not have the same thing possible with the health bar too? What if painkillers or some bizarre military stimulants allowed you to literally not die while their buffs were active? Your health just becomes negative, you get the near death trauma, and you keel over when the buff wears off or you heal back up to 0 health. Would this totally break the game?

I would say if the code states if player_HP < 1: die() and you did some trickery to do that then the game would either blow up or just ignore the buff and kill you anyway lol. I am a novice/learning programmer, but one thing I have learned is that code is very specific.
