We’ve just released Alpha 17 Stable B240 and could really use your help finding the last remaining big issues.

As always TFP is interested in all constructive criticism and feedback, but what we're really looking for in this thread are the following:

  • Show stopping game play bugs (Hopefully with reproduction steps)
  • Crashes (Try and get reproduction steps and post your output_log.txt files - usually found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\7 Days To Die\7DaysToDie_Data\output_log.txt - directly in your forum post. Note: You will find all output_logs time stamped there, even from old games. You can also attach your zipped up crash dump file too.)
  • Chunk Generation Bugs. People please give us the coordinates of where they were in the world when they run into a chunk generation error plus the game seed. Copy and pasting the error alone and the output log is not sufficient to help with a fix.

Additionally, you can post balance and feedback in the current Dev diary.

Reproduce steps:

 

Press F1 to open the console, then type dbs

This will open a panel in game for you to type the bug in.

once done click ok

there will then be a SCREENSHOTS folder in the main 7 days folder.

your output log files are in C /steamLibrary/steamapps/common/7Daystodie/7daystodiedata/ you will find a list of ol logs, the last one being the most recent.

 

also when taking a screen shot you can use the debug info, go into dm mode ( Type dm in the console ) Type dm to turn it off again

Press F3, that will bring up the debug overlay, you will need to press f3 twice to close it.

If you use the f3 feature no need for cords in the screen shot as they are in that info.

Known Issues

  • Some tier 5 dungeons may not complete the clear quests
  • You can potentially get a buff like bleeding after the moment of death
  • In some scenarios double swing may still occur
  • Tool damage localization is different than actual value
  • RWG: Floating POIs (Minimal occurrence now)
  • Trader Jen has a deep voice
  • Ammo count of nail gun goes broke, when equipped with full auto receiver
  • Trader Rekt is nicer than usual
  • Some achievements can not be obtained at the moment
  • Charismatic Nature is still in need of improvement, buff works for 5 seconds and 5 seconds it does not
  • Scrapping items in crafting queue while re-logging may go lost
  • Re-logging when crafting usable items are in the crafting queue may have negative side effects
  • Crafting speed bonus and mod slots do not properly apply to workstations after being closed
  • Clipping into blocks to see through terrain
  • Vultures play their fly animation when dead for clients
  • Shotgun driver loses sound on 4x4 after a while
  • Workstation tools do not refresh the recipe list when the tools are installed
  • Can use torch and flaming arrows as light underwater
  • Hitting ESC while generating a map preview will blank screen. Must use CTRL, ALT, DEL to exit game.
  • RWG preview tool localization
  • Firearms do a duplicate reload animation after reloading while zoomed (locked in zoom)
  • Mining helmet light doesn't show for other players
  • Client molotovs thrown down from an edge not working as good as Host
  • Hatches don't always open on the first try
  • Player model jumps forward of the player camera when accessing an auto turret inventory
  • Turrets will not target self when set to do so
  • LCB icon is still shown when LCB has been destroyed by another player
  • Player can consume any consumable while mounted in vehicle but will not get the buff/debuff
  • Flames don't move with zombie ragdolls
  • Resolution does not always save when >1080p options are available
  • Burning shaft mod flame effect can transfer to other items on the toolbelt
  • Healing other players with RMB doesn't work
  • Self medicated is not working properly. Not being able to purchase perk is intended.
  • Debuffs on respawn
  • Crashes on Mac
  • If connection to server fails, try removing steamnetworking as a disabled function from the serverconfig.xml
  • White lines may occur on imposter POIs
  • Some Linux users experience problems
  • Sometimes items get locked on the toolbelt, use shift LMB or the action button when item is highlighted to solve some sightings
  • When using REALLY excessive amounts of resources they may vanish in cement mixer's crafting queue
  • Loot abundance setting needs another look
  • Tree duplication on impact with vehicle on LCB protected trees
  • Nailgun can have different triggers
  • Items on mouse can get lost when closing container with item in hand

Is it possible to put a normal game on the server in order not to reset the world?

 

The list of changes is equal to the experimental version 240?

 

A17 b240 EXP is identical to the stable. Enjoy guys !

Summary: Perk "Explosive Weapons" not working / Dismembermet of limbs not working

Bug Description: Dismembermet does not work at all

 

Reproduce steps:

1. Put skillponts to Perception / Explosive Weapons

2. Try any weapon and/or armunition type to dismember legs on zeds

 

Actual result: Never dismember limbs.

 

Expected result: legs / arms should be dismembered.

Bug Description:

 

Firestation in random gen (not sure if Navezgane has one) has some red blocks with 10000 HP, then on the right side same red blocks have 300 HP and sound like metal. Not sure if the 10000 are also correct.

 

Reproduce steps:

 

Generate a new random map and find a Firestation and hit the blocks.

Summary: (Random generator shows radiated 4x4 square in 8x8 map)

Bug Description:

When creating a new random map with size 4000x4000 then creating a 8000x8000 map, there will be a radiated square seperating a 4000x4000 square from the other 3 4000x4000 tiles.

Not sure if it's just visual in the random gen previewer or if the world indeed is generated like this.

When going into the menu and back in the generator with the same seed, the radiated zone is not shown and the biomes are correct as before.

 

 

 

Reproduce steps:

Generate a 4x4 map then generate a 8x8 map and look at the preview.

Bug Description: Bears movement is jerky

 

Reproduce steps: Attack a Bear! I dare you! lol

 

 

Actual result: Bear is jerky in his movement; its like he jumps some frames lol He's pretty mad so that may explain it lol

 

Expected result: Shouldn't be that jerky.

Summary: Locker block - almost impossible to target from 'side(s)'

Bug Description: Very hard to consistently hit the green lockers in poi's.

 

Reproduce steps: Try hitting the green lockers

 

 

Actual result: Intermittently hit the lockers maybe 1 in 40 swings.

 

Expected result: Easily hit the locker every swing.

Bug Description: Cold effect/penalties very harsh.

 

Reproduce steps: Go into cold biome.

Actual result: Very harsh penalties at least for cold - temperature at 58 degrees.

 

Expected result: Penalties shouldn't start till about 40 or maybe 45 degrees.

For the love of God, tell me that this is not the stable version, download this version again and in all randomly generated maps have the same horrible error, please give priority to this, it is what most enjoy the game!

I think these problems are very serious please put it as the first 17 alpha !, please! please!

I didn't think they were going to do any major work on RWG in A17. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I heard RWG will be addressed later on. Otherwise, if they were going to do any patchwork on RWG - I would assume they wouldn't call it stable since changes to it has historically broken the player's map.

Do we restart our dedicated servers or can we keep playing on the current build we started yesterday when 240 dropped?

 

Noticed when I logged in today all my game files were reset and I had to do my starter quests over and I was level 10 when I logged off yesterday. Everyone on our server had that issue, it wasn't just me.

I didn't think they were going to do any major work on RWG in A17. Unless I'm mistaken, I think I heard RWG will be addressed later on. Otherwise, if they were going to do any patchwork on RWG - I would assume they wouldn't call it stable since changes to it has historically broken the player's map.

 

Idk where you heard that but it sure as hell was not from Kinyajuu who is the one in charge of RWG.

Status: Still persists.

 

Bug Description: When generating a world preview, the loading takes 10 mins+

 

Reproduce steps: Main Menu -> World Preview Gen -> Hit Generate -> Wait

 

Actual result: Long loading times (10 mins+)

 

Expected result: Loading times sub minute (its a preview, I'm not playing the game).

ur totally right - in b208 everything was looking nice, logical and cute

 

and now its just a pain to the eyes

 

pls change it back to b208-code and try to find another way to avoid floating prefabs

I rather like floating POI's instead of a world that just looking aweful
