  1. OK Folks, I have not seen anyone yet who has come up with this exact idea. Do correct me if I am wrong. This is a no trap, guns blasting, headshot horde base design. This is my first video ever, which I decide to do at the young age of 68. So, do take this into consideration.

Hello all, I am struggling to place a draw bridge on my new base. ive followed all of the usual tricks of placing down frames in the middle and removing surrounding blocks, but so far it has not allowed me to place it. I would add a picture but this forum apparently doesnt allow pictures to be copied and requires me to copy a URL which i way too lazy for. Is this a known issue in A20? i know they have always been an absolute nightmare to place but ive struggled with for over an hour now. Does anyone know how to place it? Thanks in advance

  6. I'll start with the minor suggestion, and while it is minor, it is very important that I ask; Could there be a multi-parent relay implemented? that or just applied to all relay? I've found it very hard to set up a two way door with switches when only one switch can connect to the door to activate it. If multiple switches are lined up it would make sense that they function in unison, ie: if 3 switches are lined up to each other then a door, all three switches would need to be active to open the door. This would allow for more easily set up electrical grids where multiple switches could activate one source from different locations, or persons could make a complex placement of switches to create a central control building or grid for various contraption. An additional minor suggestion being 2x2 doors since you can't face two doors towards each other. The major suggestion, practically overhauling or adding new AI, by adding human Npcs that aren't traders. Perhaps the player could find other survivors in abandon buildings waiting to be eaten by a roaming zombie or found by the player to be traded with, killed, or recruited to defend a base. This can be particularly helpful for solo players who may not have any multiplayer assistance, or for those who have a knack for civ type games. Perhaps these survivor Npcs could have skill points or combat points of their own, allowing them to specialize with certain weapons. They could level up and the player could choose points for them, or it could be automatic/randomized to the Npc. All of this could still be added along side a disable/enable survivor Npc option. The implications of friendly survivors also imply hostile survivors and even raiders. Of course all of these would be rare finds, like finding radioactive zombies in the early game, but it could be a desirable addition for a zombie survival game. I'm not entirely certain if suggestions are being accepted, much less reviewed, but if they are, I would like to offer my suggestions whenever possible. I would gladly contribute my extraordinary creativity, whether it be implemented or not, just having my thoughts read by another for possible consideration is thrilling. I'm not asking for money, not a job, nothing but hope that suggestions don't go unnoticed.

I hereby send a cordial greeting to the entire 7 days to die community, I would like to suggest a fundamental change for the forges that after reflection I think would help the performance of the game a little; At the end of the crafting queue and there is nothing to melt, the forge turns off, and if there is only foundry, then when it is finished, it turns off. as long as you don't have crafting in queue and foundry it turns off. If the player turns it on by not having anything in the creation and/or casting queue, it can be turned on without problems

  10. HELP, Pc for the server is a Dell XPS 8940 has no gpu 64GB ram and i7-11700 This is my first 7dtd server but ive made tons of minecraft ones. I dont understand whats going wrong.   12. I am playing on Single Player. I had trader Rekt who had the Crucible Schematic on day 1 in his inventory for sale. I played for few hours and then I quit the game to do some stuff in real life. When I got back to the game, I was unable to find the crucible schematic anymore. The trader had the same inventory but the item was just gone.... The Trader has not restock as it's only day 3 and it's restocks on day 4. It happened to me several times, items form traders inventory just item disappears when I quit the game and restart. And usually it is the useful items. Fix your game it's so @%$#ing annoying to get an item just disappearing. I stooped playing for now cause I am so @%$#ed.....
  13. Is this possible? I'm admin for a dedicated server and I'm just curious if it's possible to change these stats on players. My interest in this is to keep track of PvP kills/deaths. So far all I'm aware of for tools to use in this aspect is searching the server logs for individual events. And in a clan war with 10v10 or more ... That's quite a few events.

I hope that when the bandits gets added to the game there will be several options for how they appear in the game, like one example choose to let them have guns or not or just let them be melee fighters, more choices to how you play with or without them. I ask for this as i know lots of people don't like guns or gun sounds, especialy if the sound is sudden and unexpected, so bandits without guns would be better than not playing a great game or playing without bandits at all. Of course i also endorse the choice of turning bandits off all together as well, but and i'd like to have bandits in the game just not with guns. thanks for reading.

  16. I'm not a forum dweller so if similar thing was already proposed, my apologies. I've just created my account to post this, that's how much I want it to change. If you think its good pls let the devs know about this, I think it will help the game a lot. The worst thing about 7dtd (at least for me) is loot management. It does not exist. Big chunk of time goes to sorting the loot after coming back from any type of outdoor activity. Its tedious, its dreadful, its game killing, especially if you pick up almost everything because you know you'll need it at some point. There is a solution, ULTRA simple one which would remove this problem completely. We do have the two buttons that were introduced not too long ago, the box with 1 arrow and another box with 3 arrows, and these buttons move inventory from your character to a container you have opened. I think this was a marvellous step to the right direction, job done, but unfortunately it is not actually usable. I'll focus on the box with 1 arrow since the one with 3 arrows is not good for loot management. In your inventory you always keep repair kits, food and drinks, lockpicks and medic items, forged iron, dukes and ammo. That's the very least you need to go out of your base and scavenge. Therefore often times you don't want to use the 1 arrow box because you'll lose something from inventory that you need. Then you need to manually figure out what you've lost, and if it was multiple items then its not easy. Now the solution - just make inventory slots lockable (only your character inventory, not chest inventory, or maybe both if you think it would be useful to have lockable slots in chests). That's it. Items in locked inventory slots can not be "removed" via the 1arrow box click. Also items in locked inventory slots are not sortable (clicking on sort would not touch them). So during gameplay if there is an item I intend to keep with me, I lock its slot or move it to an empty locked slot. You would do this rarely because items you keep would not change often. In any case, with this I could come back to base and spend 15s on loot management, instead of 5min. I just come, click on all my 10-20 themed chests and use the 1arrowbox button, and I can already go out again while being sure I have everything I need with me. For me it would make the game at least 2x as good, I'll get to focus on the game and not be straining my eyes multiple times per ingame day looking at which item should I keep in my inventory and which I should move out. It should be very very simple to implement. How exactly could you do it, I guess long left click (or right click) on an inventory slot should pop-up the lock/unlock menu similar like when you long press E on a door. Simple. And how to visually indicate that an inventory slot is locked - well either put a lock sign on lover left corner of the slot, or maybe even better, do something with the slot color. Color options - change the background color of locked slots from current gray to maybe dark gray or black, another option is to beef up the slot border and make it black, maybe do both colorings because some items like the paintbrush cover the whole slot with a red color, so the border will help in those cases.
  17. I was driving around on my motorcycle in the game, you know, just exploring, when several questions struck me What causes the Blood Moon? Why does it make every zombie know exactly where you are? Why is it only every 7 days? I initally thought of several things. The Blood Moon might be a alien superstructure, that orbits the Earth, turning people into zombies in order to kill off humanity. It kinda makes sense. It happens every 7 days, exactly. It controls all the zombies to track down and kill all the humans. But maybe it needs 7 days to recharge or something. I think that would be cool for a story, if there ever was one. Also, the zombies will send screamers to your base (Or where there's a high heatmap) to scout out the location. This doesn't make sense for a dumb zombie to do. So maybe the zombies are being controlled by something. Also there's a lot of zombies in buildings, and that doesn't make sense. My theory is that the blood moon came suddenly, turned a bunch of people into zombies, and ended the world. Or maybe it turned people gradually. On roads, you can sometimes see newspaper fragments, and they have headlines like "Flu Outbreak" and stuff like that. That leads me to believe that if the Blood Moon is an alien structure, it gave a bunch of people a virus that turned them into zombies, and the virus could be used to control the zombies. I'm just throwing ideas at the wall here, but I personally think they're pretty good ones. Please, add any thoughts/opinions you might have to the forum!
  18. Z2 is a small side project of mine that I just sat down and started coding the other day. I started with creating a new compass bar and then just went from there, making things up as I progressed along the orange line. The result is what you see in the screenshots below. No external assets were used in the development of this HUD with the exception of the compass bar of course which sparked this whole thing. The compass bar is hosted online(imgur) and that makes this modlet server friendly in the terms that it requires no client downloads unless one opts to use the optional 10 slot tool belt and target health bar patches which will require the clients to download and install DMT modlets. I've not spent a whole lot of time on this modlet yet, and as such I am sure there are both bugs and hopefully minor issues I haven't caught before releasing it. Please make me aware of those with a post in this thread. I prefer not to be sent PM's in this regard. Worktime: 3-4h (initial sketchup) Worktime: 6-7h (fine tuning, touchups, changes) This modlet is coded to be a HUD killer. This means that it can be dropped into an overhaul mod and it will likely kill the overhauls HUD and replace it with Z2. Some adaptation might be needed depending on overhaul features and original HUD complexity. Z2 is currently not scale friendly, due to this it attempts to lock the scale at vanilla values. This might cause issues if added to other mods or modlets that rely on changing the scale to display correctly. This will be rectified in an upcoming version. It's color scheme is also highly customizable through the styles.xml file. So if orange is not your thing, change it there by setting a new R,G,B color code in the correct style entry. This will be further diversified in an upcoming version. Z2 - Showing the HUD and the radial menu. Z2 - Showing the vehicle health and fuel bars. Z2 comes with some optional features that can be used. The reason I made these optional is because they require a higher level of experience when it comes to modding, they require the use of third party tools, they render the client EAC unfriendly and they require clients to download and install the modlets locally. The first optional feature that is available at release is the target health bar which, when installed correctly, enables the target health bar in the games engine and adds some other tweaks by SphereII to further enhance and touch up the bars a little. (DMT patch provided by SphereII) Z2THB no longer requires a DMT patch to work. Simply install it as any other modlet. Z2THB - Showing the target health bar. (Requires client install and DMT patching.) The second optional feature that is available at release is a patch to tweak Z2 to fit if you have a 10 slot tool belt modlet or overhaul installed. Please do note that Z2 itself does not currently come with a 10 slot tool belt DMT patch. Z2TB10 - Showing a 10 slot tool belt. (Requires client install and DMT patching. Also requires a 10 slot tool belt DMT mod/modlet.) To download click on the images below. They pull directly from my github repo. Optionally you can download and install these modlets through SphereII's Mod Launcher (recommended). Install like any other modlet by dropping it into your 7 Days to Die installation folder and making sure that the hierarchy is as follows; "Mods\modname\ModInfo.xml".   20. My friend and I thought it would be a good idea if the 4x4 vehicle could hold more (at a cost) when out raiding buildings in a big town. It seemed the trips always get cut short due to storage issues. Our suggestion would be to allow the 4x4 more storage but at a cost. First, it would use more gas requiring people to grind oil shale in the desert. And if you held too much stuff in the car it would use a weight mechanic that would slow the vehicle. Or possible a trailer that would be pulled by the 4x4 that would have this built in mechanic. Either way that sounds like a great addition. Would love to know what the community thought about this concept. -Bones :)

  23. (Playing Steam Vanilla on PC, Alpha 20.4, EAC off) Still figuring things out, the mistake was mine and obvious, now, but I can not figure out how to fix it. Short version is I was building a basement level base, wanted to back fill some spots, opened Creative menu and grabbed 'rock'. Did not realize until too late I grabbed 'bedrock'. Once I realized my mistake I grabbed the admin hammer and- it did not work. So I dug out beneath it, which I later read was the thing to do, and it did not work. The bedrock pieces are just floating in the air all artifacty looking and totally indestructible. I experimented all night with various things, even made a quick modlet to change the properties of bedrock lowering hardness and hit points and add a couple zeros to the block damage of the hammer. Nothing worked. Before reporting it as a bug I tried to recreate the issue, and I can't. I've dug holes both in my claim area and outside, placed a piece of bedrock in it, and when I dig out under them they fall, break and disappear like they should. But not the ones floating in the middle of my room. I have no clue what the difference is about the problem ones, so I can't say I've %100 re-created the situation. Is there no console/file editing method of getting rid of these things? TIA
  24. Good evening. I'm reporting that the random map, North Ajexubo Mountains, at the 8192 size won't produce any traders. I've tried ten times, using the 7DTD tool/menu to clean out the maps. The "no trader" message keeps appearing at the end of the tutorial.
