  1. Hey @doughphunghus! I have a simple question about Buff Ambiance โ€“ Darker Nights (and sorry if it has been asked before) What's the difference between your modlet and just turning the game's Brightness to the minimum? I know the in-game setting doesnt affect light sources, it's kinda like a Gamma slider. Thanks!
  2. I build ramps/staircases access to my horde base and I've observed that some of them destroy the base of it when zombies ahead of them are so packed up on the first step of the staircase. It prevents the ones below to climb of it for a certain amount of time, triggering their destructive behavior since they consider the access unreachable. There's so many zombies in the constant flow of a 64-zombies hordes that some of them remains trapped at on ground level for so long that they'll just start hitting what's in front of them.
  3. What? There's nothing to fix there pal. ๐Ÿคจ There's normal zombies like the Mechanic, the Business Man, the Nurse. There's tougher ones, like Big Boy, Big Mama, Soldiers, Bikers and they give more XP. Then there's Feral versions of any zombies existing, they have yellow glowing eyes and they're also tougher and give even more XP. You have radioactive zombies. You know, like any other RPG-based game, the tougher the monster is, the more XP you get.
  4. Omg don't go there!!! I once tried to have a rational exhange with other people here regarding the same thing and I was given a lot of @%$# for simply implying that zombies are dead and that their circulatory system doesn't work, that they don't need their muscles and organs to be supplied with oxygen. Therefore, they can't die of bleeding. But according to some folks, zombies can be anything, "it's just a game". So yeah, we're not really fighting the undead here, don't bother. I wouldn't mind poison arrows or some other kind of DoT effect against the living though.
  5. I see a lot of folks on various social media outlets claiming that the Pimps arent doing enough and that with 14 millions of copies sold, things should be way faster and better and bugless and whatnot, than this. Im not personally questioning the whereabouts and the schedule and roadmap of TFP. I've watched the livestreams, i read the announcements here. I know enough to realize that the amount of work is colossal and that the TFP staff is hard at work. But apparently, the Pimps are scammers who just wanna get our monies. So, let's do this. What are the Pimps doing with those several millions of dollars made from those 14 millions copies? Im not expecting to have all the paperwork disclosed, that figures and columns be laid out in front of us, but let's put the cards of the table here (like the Pimps arent transparent enough with all the interactions they conduct with the community...)! Im dressing up my topic with a sarcastic tone yeah, but im also genuinely curious about this. Just so i can shut down the hecklers and clueless morons who claim @%$# but arent able to back it up.
  6. No, don't take them. Don't make any further efforts to find more, or antibiotics. Just die.
  7. Why? You can already easily track resources. Mineral nodes are dots on the map, with coloration relative to the type of ore. Water is the easiest of course. There's already a skill to track animals you can hunt. As for anything that's not natural โ€“ pipes, paper, gasoline, polymers, etc., you just have to think where you usually find those in real life. You need Vitamins? You'll search a drugstore and not the gas station.
  8. That's not the point... The claim the person Roland was responding to was that you can't adequately use a weapon you're not perked into, which is factually false and easily observable.
  9. The minute I saw Roland rectifying their points one by one, I knew TC would get @%$#ed and try to oppose one of the most knowledgeable folk of TFP with their subjective, anecdotal arguments. Always a pleasure to read.
  10. There was a sea level option in KingGen though. But whether it was a feature of its own in the program of in relation to a file of the game itself, that i dunno. My question referred to the ''color'' water areas could have, just like there'a a color for Forest/Snow/Desert/Wasteland biomes, you see what i mean? I've seen people customizing their maps in a way that they created islands, very large lakes and long rivers.
  11. 1) How do i add water zones on the map? If its possible, could i add water where buildings are or that will make the game crash or produce anomalies that could make it unplayable? 2) Is there a way to manually set the spawn point when starting a game for the first time? For the record, i use Photoshop to modify the biome colors and roads.
  12. Since we're on the subject : how do i add water zones on the map? If its possible, could i add water where buildings are or that will make the game crash or produce anomalies that could make it unplayable?
  13. This is a great idea. I'm gonna give it a try, but without the Nomad part. I prefer having my stuff in a permanent hideout.
  14. Yeah we've all been beginners, of course we did. But in this case, this phrase is a parody. Someone saying horde night on day 49 is very tough and needing help to overcome is plenty legitimate and justified. I'd gladly share hints and tips for a base design, what to use as weapons, strategies, etc. But @%$#ing about food and how it's easy to starve to death, come on... The game provides all the necessary help and a wide range of means to get food. You just have to make... efforts. You have 4 skills to help you hunt better and for more resources, loot better and to conserve energy. If anything, the game already been made easier since candies have been added. Traders are over-powered, they give you loads of dukes since they have unlimited amounts of them. Vending machines replenish themselves overnight. So who the everloving @%$# STARVES to death in this game?? Dying from an infection is nigh impossible. If you die from starvation, I'm sorry but it's probably a case of being too incompetent for this game. So yeah, it's gonna be git gud. Happy to disappoint you. When I was a beginner at this, I simply thought that this is a survival game and if anything, when you're in that situation, there's couple of things you immediately have to think about : shelter, orientation and, *drum rolls*, sustenance! This game rewards plenty enough the slightest effort. This trend of "I'm offended, give me what I want" went off the rails about the least dramatic things ever, including video games. "Please add an Easy difficulty level to Dark Souls!!!". Enough already.
  15. Perishable food should absolutely spoil over time, sure! I'm fine with the current design of food items in the game right now, but I'd be the first to welcome food spoilage as a vanilla feature. The more immersive (but not abusive) elements you give me, the happier I'll be. As for small and big game, there's a setting in spawning.xml that can be changed to either increase the count of spawn rate of edible game.
  16. No, starving isn't easy. Hunt small game, loot grocery stores. Do Buried Supplies missions. You have plenty of ways to get food. It amazes me that there's still people complaining about this. Food is the easiest resource to get in this game. I'm currently playing a Wasteland-only map, one of the most hostile environment to progress in. Very few wild life apart zombie bears/dogs. Loot is hard to get because of increased zombie spawns and numbers. But I've arranged myself to have enough food. Nothing compared to the overwhelming amounts you get in other biomes, but I'm fine for now. Nothing about the game need to be changed for this. YOU need to change and, sorry to say that, git gud.
  17. Someone who calls others "kids" but actually acts that childish with their public tantrum and moaning isnt very credible, right? That "no u" behavior is dumbest of all. Yeah right, everyone is wrong and you're pristine and pure. So, gtfo now.
  18. Ok so, if i understand correctly (i might not lol), in an indirect way, its ''intended''? Like other above said, it has to do with the spawn count that is set lower during the day, so the extra ''night'' Zs are like, outta place once the night ends?
  19. Like literaly. More than once i've seen this happening right in front of me and if not, i hear the distinctive cry as they die outside, when i'm in my hideout. They just drop and that's it. Am i the only one experiencing this? Tried to search for a similar topic, doesnt seem like it exists.
  20. Funny how this comes out after my post ๐Ÿ˜ People who throw uncalled abuse at the devs will be served the same, that's it. You can observe this for any type of developers that benefit from the steady support of their communities. As far as I'm concerned, I not only support the Pimps because the game is that good, but because they stay in close contact with their community and openly inform it about the development of the game, whether its through the forums or the live streams, and the founders themselves interact with us. This shows how they have consideration for the fanbase. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one seeing this. You don't see this very often. I have nothing against constructive criticism, and I even consider this vital for any kind of project. Hell, I have criticism against certains aspects of the game myself. But this guy came in with the deader-than-a-dead-horse, dumb argument "omg this game's been in development since X years, this is so stupid will it be done before I die lolololol" and also took it as pretext to claim there's a scam underneath it... This is so moronic, I can't even. He gets the most diplomatic explanation but he brushed it off like it was apparently offending him. Basically he threw @%$# in the fan and then left right after. Personally, I have no respect for this kind of jerk. This community is open-minded and friendly, I observe this regularly and I interact with newcomers myself, here and on the 7DtD Facebook page and groups of fans. Don't worry about us pal ๐Ÿ˜‰
  21. You got the most appropriate, articulated and well-informed reply you could have, from a person who is actually an immediate staff member of the Fun Pimps and who has his seat in production meetings with the founders and lead designers. And you still throw shade at him and the factual info and data you've been courteously handed. Even while you actually have no goddamn idea of what you're talking about, regarding the state of the game. The game is completely playable and your experience can be tailored as you see fit, through extensive settings and mods. The fact that it's been in developement for 10 years doesn't affect the experience of the community, who's been stacking thousands of hours on it. If you can't come up with common sense, set aside your poor and close-mind misjudgment and actually play the game for real, you'd see that the long development period doesn't hinder in any dramatic or game-breaking way. And that there's no rip-off or anything dumb like that. The game is still supported and worked on years later on. We see the improvements in a pretty cool frequency, given the colossal task of managing an immense open world, entirely destructible and generating millions of possible interactions. Damn, I see major studios releasing AAA titles that are such in bad shape upon launch, they need to be patched right away or in some cases, pulled off the shelves for further fixing... For the vast majority of us, it's the best 20-30 bucks ever invested in a game that gave us returns in thousandfold. Damn right there's apology to be given to you. Please see yourself out and it's with pleasure that I'm happy to know you will.
  22. Just stop. You can't be swimming in Pump Shotguns. Nobody is in A20, not even in Double-Barrels. Pipe Shotguns, maybe. And how the freaking hell are you waiting to loot the Forge schematics?? You only need to drop ONE point in Advanced Engineering to unlock it and it's open from level 1, day one. ๐Ÿคจ
