  1. If you generated the map then look in your generated worlds folder for the map in question. There will be a text file in the folder called prefabs. Open that file and you can see what POI's were generated without having to go all over the map. The listing also gives you the coordinates of the POI on the map. The path to the generated worlds folder is as follows (Windows 10) Users\username\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds\Mapname. You will need to set your view in file explorer to "show hidden items" in order to see the appdata folder. If you want to look for a particular POI in the Prefab list then use ctrl F and this will open a search dialogue box. Type in the name of the prefab and then it will take you to the first one on the list. I use this to verify that the Research Facility gets generated in every map I create. Hint: for a list of darkness falls prefabs just type "DF" and then press enter. It will show you all the Darkness Falls prefabs.
  2. The server is using 20gb of memory and the map is 8k. However its no problem to load a differrent map. The dll issue you mention is there a solution for that. Should we contact the server provider?
  3. Hey Khaine I did a complete wipe of my server and did fresh installs of the game and the mod. I also did a complete wipe of my game on my pc. I removed steam, the game and all folders and registry keys associated with steam or 7d2d and funpimps. Here is the error report i get when I load the game. Any ideas or suggestions
  4. Hey Khaine No this post is not about is not about non working forges or glitching objects or server errors. I was just wondering if the update for 19.2 will require a new map or if we will be able to just update and continue with our current map.
  5. Hey Khaine I finally got our server issues straightened out. The problem we were having was an administrative one. I deleted the 10 slot file as you recommended on our server but all that did was hide the file from me. It was still there causing problems. I figured out it was still there from some error messages I saw on the server and by the loading logs that showed it was still being used even though I could not see it. After several unsuccessful attempts top get our support at the hosting service to resolve the issue I looked up server Blend hosting and ordered and set up a server with them. It was good right out of the box. I had everyone delete their previous saves including their player profiles as well as all old maps. before they could enter the server. I tested it for a day without a hitch and it is up and running as I type. Everyone here at Chalk 4 really loves this mod and we are thankful for all the time you put into keeping it up to date and the improvements you make.
  6. Are you running your own server or a hosted server. I am on a hosted server and my options are fairly limited. If you are on a hosted, which hosting company?
  7. I saw your post about the server how do you patch it. We are currently using a server at gtx gaming so there is only so much I can do.
  8. Update to my recent post.... I tried some testing on our server with the navezgane map and determined that if you use the toolbelt but move your items out of slots 11-15 before you exit then you will be able to come back into the game without problem. If you leave stuff in those slots then your player will not load and you are stuck at the creating player screen. Alternatively if you load the game locally and use those same slots you will have no problems loading your character if anything is in them. So it is a server side problem but I have no clue where. Is that 15 slot dll file loaded any where else in a server install?
  9. Hey Khaine I followed your instructions regarding the 10 slot tool belt causing issues with starting up the game. I checked my game client and I had the 15 slot file. So, I checked our server and it had the 10 slot file. I deleted the file which promptly crashed the server on start up...no worries I uninstalled the mod and the game on the server and then reinstalled. I rechecked the locations /mods/1-darknessfalls/harmony for the 10 slot file and it was no longer installed. I restarted the server and loaded in the navezgane map for some testing. I entered and exited the game several times without problem. However if I moved stuff around in the tool belt passed the 10 th slot and left it there when I exited then the game would stall at creating player on the next restart. Is it possible for this file to be installed in another folder or file location or does the possibility exist that the 15 slot backpack dll file is corrupt? I know you are working overtime with this new mod launch so thanks for all your support. Everyone here at Chalk 4 loves this mod. Thanks for keeping a 7d2d interesting and fresh with the mod work.
  10. How to fix the 7d2d 19.1 loading error Fun Pimps recently updated 7 days to die to alpha 19.1 and the Devs at Darkness Falls Mod followed suit just as many of the other mod developers will do as well. However, a problem was introduced to the game which prevents it from loading. Specifically: the game load process stalls at the “creating character” step. I have not identified the exact folder or file but with the help of several members of Chalk 4 I have identified a broad fix that eliminates the problem. This fix requires the user to uninstall the Steam Client, 7d2d mod launcher and Darkness falls Mod and the 7d2d game. This will require the use of Revo Uninstaller in order to achieve a clean uninstall. You can download the uninstaller here https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/ Download and install Revo before you attempt any uninstall of Steam or 7d2d or the Mod launcher. Read all of the listed instructions before you attempt this. Failure to follow these instructions could break your windows operating system and require a complete system install. 1: Uninstall the Darkness Falls Mod at the mod launcher by opening the mod launcher, highlight the darkness falls mod and then press delete all. 2. Open Revo and let it find all the installed programs. Select the 7d2d Mod launcher and press uninstall. After Revo removes the programs you will be offered to scan the system and look for registry entries left behind. Select scan and when the scan is complete select all and delete. Revo will then scan for program files left behind. Repeat the process. Select Delete all. 3: Using Revo uninstall the 7d2d game. Repeat the steps outlined above to remove all file and registry entries left behind. 4 Using Revo uninstall your steam client. Repeat the steps outlined above to remove all file and registry entries left behind. 5. Open file explorer for windows and navigate to trhe C drive. Delete the 7d2d folder if it is still there. It will appear at the top of the listing if it is still present. 6. At the top of the screen click on file and select change folder and search options. Select the view tab and then select show hidden files, folders and drives. 7. Chose the folder options. Click on the C drive and select users / your name / or the profile the game is installed under and then open the AppData Folder. 8. Locate any folders in the Local, Local Low and Roaming main folders identified as 7d2d Mod launcher, 7 Days to Die, Fun Pimps or Steam and delete them. Warning: Do not delete the Local, Local Low or Roaming folders or any other folders except those listed above as you will break your windows operating system and be unable to boot. Close the file explorer and restart your system. 9. After restart: Reinstall your Steam Client, 7days to die game and 7d2d Mod launcher. Install the game in the launcher by downloading the client from steam using latest experimental version. Install the mod by pre synching the mod. Make sure you install Alpha 19.1 not 19.0 The game will now run without the load screen hang when you are using Alpha 19.1 and Darkness Falls.
  11. We updated to the 19.1 version did a clean install deleted old saves but after playing the game and then leaving and trying to reenter the game the load screen gets stuck at crerating character and does not finish loading. If I delete the map save and load a different map it will work ok until we leave the game and then later return. The mod worked fine with 19.0. All of this started immediately after the update. Any suggestions
