    Hey Xyth i updated Sphereii core,launcher says its up to date,and your NPC mods are too. Tested again and still get same behaviour. Started a new game and still get same behaviour. Told one NPC to wait here,he did for about 30 seconds then started walking slowly SW direction,told the other NPC to wander,he also walked slowly SW. They will walk 10 or 15 paces,stop,then continue in SW direction. Also observed other NON HIRED NPCs walking that way too. Its SP,New game,no other mods,pregen world 01. Tested now on multiple NPCs EDIT i did let the launcher compile the new version of sphereii core with the other modlets.I cant see any other issues on my end,and cant think of other ways to test for the possible problem.

    Oh your spot on , core was out of date i didnt realise because i was having issues opening launcher and didnt see. It was SP il mention it next time i find any issues ,cheers again.

    Hey Xyth i found another bug with NPC's. Telling them to wander around here, or stay here,results in them slowly walking to corners of the map. NW and SW ,i had two different(same model NPC-Gupsoldier hunting rifle i think) do this every time i issued them those orders. At first i was in a house boarded up and told them to wander around here or stay here and noticed them going to corners of the house and trying to walk through the wall,i then told them to follow me,once outside told them to wait hereand wander around here,and they then proceeded to corners of the map. This is Alpha 18.4 the map was Pregen 01. No other mods running. I dont think this happened a few days ago in testing.

    Thanks Xyth,seems lowering the distance wouldnt be appropriate. I had another question,sort of off topic entirely but as yourself and Sphereii know this games files like the back of your hand im wondering if its possible to disable night time ambient creepy music.I know the sounds are located in the resources file in 7DTD Data folder,but they are not editable. Iv spent the best part of a day on the forums and google and looking for mods to disable those creepy music sounds but it seems impossible.But considering how modable this game is i figure its worth a shot asking someone more knowledgable. Trying to get the GF into 7 days but she hates creepy ambient sounds as much as i do lol
  6. Hi Sphereii I had issues opening launcher,i finally got it open and i still get errors,so just wanted to send the error log for you to look a to see if you can make sense of it.

    Lovely. And speaking of zombie targeting,is there a value i can change somewhere to make them more aggressive to NPCs? Their aggro doesnt seem to be effected by closest enemy to them,they often walk past NPCs in order to get to the player,especially noticable with zombie animals and wildlife.

    Xyth would the mod be compatible with a mod that reduces zombie hit reach? Saw a mention of a mod that does this im just unsure if your NPC mods alter anything already in that regard. Also just started new game with the update. Its alot better,cheers!

    Sorry for all the questions guys but i get some odd spawn behaviour when using this mod... And that is that wild animals such as bears ,wolves,dire wolves etc are spawning WAY to often . i started four new games and saw 2-4 bears within a 50 meter radius, in that same radius a dire wolf,normal wolf and about 9 NPCs... i dont know if or how this mod is affecting ANIMAL spawns but i read sth about using animal spawns to spawn in NPCs before.... I checked my data folder and looked at the vanilla entity groups file and it said this.. <entitygroup name="EnemyAnimalsForest"> <entity name="invisibleAnimalEnemy" prob="6"/> <entity name="animalWolf" prob="0.4"/> <entity name="animalBear" prob="0.05"/> <entity name="animalDireWolf" prob="0.05"/> </entitygroup> That tells me i shouldnt be seeing so many enemy animals in a short radius,so this mod is spawning them in. I already looked in the mod's entity group xml and do not see any reference to enemy animal spawns. is there a way to fix this issue? Thanks edit : to add to this i should mention i had literally just spawned in on a new game,was collecting fibers to build starting gear when i saw a bear,turned around and was attacked by a dire wolf. Same time i had at least 6 NPCs all around me..its like a battle royal lol

    Dont know if its been discussed before,but would there be any way to disable NPCs aggression towards enemies temporarily via a dialogue option? The reason being,driving any vehicle,the NPCs follow player just fine,but once engaged with an enemy they then stop following. I know in Arma 3 i used a script command to mod AI to attach to vehicles and/or player,i think if something like this exists it would be a good workaround.

    I read in the newest game patch notes: "Junk Turret also respects party members that are not allies" In game junk turret is still targeting friendly NPCs. Is this going to ever change or is it not possible still? I know the turret does 0 damage to them,but it just wastes ammo.

    Thanks for the fix. The New NPC's are really cool. Also to your other post about dismiss not working on dedi,im not sure but on SP dismiss was working for me. Upon telling NPC to dismiss,they don't follow me and they are recruitable again so seems fine in SP

Its actually all the NPCs that i tested with. I spawned around 10 different ones to test with.

    Yes i did start new game,i even deleted previous save files. And its Single player.. No mods except for sphere core / sphere NPC dialogue / NPC pack humans/ Creature pack humans. Verified game files tried 18.2 beta (as it was last time i played with your NPCs) Tested on current build No other processes running except 7DTD and steam. To describe in better detail ...the stutttering is very aggressive,it stutters ever 1-3 seconds. Its easy to see if you pay attention to crosshair and move it slowly from one point on screen to another.Its definetly some scripts as my frame rate is fine,and this only happens when NPCs are either near the player or hired and following.The stuttering is even worse when you have more NPCs in the scene/hired. Win 7 64 bit 8GB RAM i74790 1060 6GB SSD - highly doub its hardware related iv not got any other issues.

    Hi Xyth i just updated to 2.0 . in honesty iv been away for a long time so maybe im doing something wrong. But after installing the mod its working fine but i cant talk to NPCs who spawn. IF i spawn them in then i can talk and they are recruitable etc. Sphere NPC dialogue says its up to date in the launcher. What could be the issue? Nevermind it seems some are not supposed to be recruitable. Also iv noticed that there are ALOT of NPCs spawning..i saw 5 within a very short radius after spawning EDIT : just read this : NPC NRE issue should be fixed, please let us know if you have any further problems. Pushed a change to the spawning as folks were complaining too few NPCs were in the world. Frankly its impossible to balance to satisfy everyone's idea of how many humans should be around. Feel free to edit the entitygroups.xml values to suit your tastes. I have just noticed a far bigger issue. I have constant stuttering when even one NPC is hired or near me. A quick succession of micro stuttering.Not a graphics issue as i run 60 FPS. It seems to be CPU related but i ran the last version of this mod perfectly fine. Any ideas?

  20. Hi Sphereii,ijust updated both mod launcher and sphere core mod,along with NPC DMT mod,and im getting console error messages at main menu.Is it normal? Im not sure about them appearing ingame i didnt get chance to check but i assume they might since they appear on main menu.. anyway to disable them?Or is there some other issues i need to address? the error reads "err failed loading harmony" "bad image format excerption" Not sure if its related but cant think of any other reason but when i start the game(load a save or new game) i have no controller or mouse/KB input,nothing works... EDIT:Never mind,as usual a total deletion of files and fresh install works .It seems that anytime i use the update function from launcher i get issues.Not sure if its just me.
  21. Are the devs ever going to give us NPCs that follow the player and can aid the player in survival via fighting zombies,sharing gear and gaurding bases? Currently using DMT NPCs mod,and as much as i love this game i would find it difficult to play it without those NCs.

    I think the idea of equipping them is great but most likely very hard/impossible to impliment.However a good idea that may be possible would be for the NPCs to have 2 modes,ranged and melee. Entering dialogue and telling them you want them to use a specific behaviour would be invaluble for certain situations and could help with friendly fire.The only thing is the NPC in question would have to have two hand items and be able to switch them after they have spawned and i dont know if it can be done.

    Well Xyth tweaked mickey AmmoNPC to stay and not run off,he holds his ground and shoots,so applying that same task to all ranged NPCs is viable. It is difficult to take care of them which is why i mention the stuff i did.If i simply wanted them to live longer i would tweak their HP from 800 to whatever...1800 etc.But i feel that would be cheap.

    Xyth if its ok i have a little feedback after using NPCs after a few days now. I think if its possible to tweak these settings,NPCs would be much better. 1.If possible,reduce the range at which the NPCs sense zombies,Reason being is that they A) they can totally break stealth..B)They tend to run into houses or try to before the player has even decided to enter that POI,essentially making the player the NPC that tags along lol. 2. Make the NPC non contactable with player ,as in allow player to phase rite through the NPC model.Reason being the NPC often traps player in a corner,or pushes player into a trap/zombie(especially when combined with behaviour stated above)..Worse when having more than one follower at a time. 3.Disable any and all trap damage NPC can recieve.NPCs dont path around traps and often destroy player made spikes etc,run through POIs filled with barbed wire to get zombies and ignore traps,often killing them. 4.Make the wait command actually disable their movement or add a new type of wait command allowing this(this could help with the junk turret friendly fire issue if you cant fix that,as player could tell NPC to wait and set up turret outside of view of NPC) I understand these tweaks may not be even possible but if your thinking of ways to improve the mod these QOL additions may be good. Also the property-sphere reeach i suggested before . I spent alot of time with 1.1/1.2/1.3 and actually think 1.3 is the best.1.1 and 1.2 are not consistent after further testing but 1.3 is for sure.Of course NPCs will kill zombies through walls at that setting so just wanna point that out.
