  1. Right so we can REBUY the game and put more money in their pockets while you pc players had to buy the game 1 time. No its the pc player base who is terribly ungrateful towards the console base. Had TFP not taken the quick money for selling an incomplete game they very well could have went out of business themselves. The sale of the console version is what allowed you pc players to continue to receive support
  2. Well honestly that would probably have been the smarter route to take. Release a finished debugged A15 version then on next gen rerelease the full game up to A18 or whatever that ends up being. I personally would have been more then willing to buy a revamped version if the original was complete. As it is now there are a lot of questions surrounding a next gen release but my main question would be if they failed the first time what makes you think it wont happen again.
  3. I would rather not have console versions than an out of date and broken version. TT released an unfinished port that is true but it never would have happened had tfp not sold them the rights to an incomplete game in the first place. What console players got was essentially an unfinished version of an unfinished game that was sold as "complete". - - - Updated - - - go for 5 dont matter to me i dont play this game more than 2-3 weekends a year before i get bored with how terrible it runs on ps4
  4. lol i think we hit a nerve or someone is tired of finding excuses for the tfp. - - - Updated - - - - - - Updated - - - you have high hopes lol i doubt the pc will be done even within 2 years
  5. Well when it takes you 7+ years to work on 1 game that has no clear direction i'd imagine they run through money quick.
  6. you are stating the same anger most console players have right now. TFP have benefited since day 1 of the port but have given little back. Even as of today with them buying the rights back you must assume money is either going to TFP or IG...my bet is on TFP since they own the rights. Now it would be fair to say that with the money you have amassed and the fact you are benefiting from console sales that some interest would be returned. However tfp have said and have always said they are not into consoles they only care about the pc version. So yes they will take our money but no they arent going to give us anything in return. The focus has always been pc thats why pc continues to get free updates while consoles are left to wait for any possible change in status. Simply put the console player base would have benefited more from any other developer getting the rights over tfp.
  7. While i agree with this thought TFP have already in their official statement, after getting the rights back, all blame was on TTG. As TFP see it and some others on this forum they lost all responsibility after selling the rights and everything after that is the fault of TTG and IG. Now i would argue TFP knowingly sold the rights to an incomplete game, had no experience ever porting a game and then washed their hands of it to focus on the pc after getting the money from the sale. I blame all involved but as TFP started all of this i place more blame on them for poor business decisions. Those poor decisions seem to be continuing with the idea of requiring console owners to rebuy a game they already own while pc players just get everything for free. I had said before tfp got the rights back that that could be the worst case scenario and that seems to have come true. We now have 0 hope for updates, 0 communication and a game that for some unknown reason is still being sold thereby creating more angry customers
  8. Short answer - No this game is dead so nothing is coming Long answer - TFP have the rights back and have already said they have no intent to develop console until after pc is complete. Even then the answer seems to imply they arent going to fix current gen and instead we would all be forced to rebuy the updated version on next gen. If you recently purchased the game i am sorry but do not expect to see anything done with the vast amount of issues present.
  9. i meant thats fine but whose gonna pay them to fix the errors first? I mean tfp cant come out and "release dlc" which is nothing more than program fixing. Those updates were due for about a year and a half at this point and they would have been free. I dont know many people who after all this time would now pay for the exact same update with nothing else added
  10. And that i imagine is part of the reason there wont be dlc. Its not like the game is operational and tfp can simply add new content. They would first need to invest money into fixing and updating the console versions, then do the work to add new items/zeds etc. and then hope people would pay for it. Since the game itself is maybe $20 i coudnt see paying any more than $5 for some dlc which would come nowhere near covering the cost of updating
  11. Just wait until the spawn location change for no reason and you have spawns in the nice safe base you made lol
  12. TFP simply dont care though as they are only a pc company. Whatever money and interest came from the console base has never been acknowledged. So yes in short TFP see no problem telling us to simply rebuy either on PC or on next gen console because its just more money in their pockets. We are a throw away market for them that's all we ever were
  13. TFP it is then for selling the rights to an unfinished game for the sole purpose of reinvesting the money into the PC version. TFP knew what they were doing and they knew they were screwing the console players noway they didnt. TFP can claim to be a "family" company but they're a business same as any other
  14. The end problem is TFP started all of this its just a fact and its simply isnt fair to blame TT for everything over the past few years. This isn't a new issue the lack of support, details along the way or even appreciation for console players has been happening since day 1. TT worked on an unfinished game that had no direction and really never should have been ported in the first place. TFP saw a opportunity to make money, an opportunity to develop their version of the game and they took it. As you say these are real people who made these choices and real people who chose to screw the console players. Its unacceptable years later major bug fixes havent been handled i mean content aside they at minimum should have done bug fixes. And yes i and many players are very upset about the situation, about TFP getting the rights back etc. Why shouldnt we be? TFP who have for years told us simply to go buy their version of the game are now swooping in with a "well maybe we'll help you but probably not anytime soon at best". I mean this is nearly worse case scenario only slightly above finding out the rights were sold elsewhere....on the other hand if another studio bought it work would probably get done faster so perhaps this is the worst case possible
  15. Well it is true because whatever they spent to get the rights back they can recoup in future sales, they can recoup when the inevitably sell the rights to the next publisher. Dont think for a second TFP isnt going to make money on this i mean really why else would they even want the rights back in the first place? I am not sure why you think it's mind blowing to reinvest in a product? That money could have went to help with coding issues, could have helped with the transition to the new unity system etc. Sure they "lose" profit but again they could earn more potentially if they developed and fixed the issues still plaguing the system now. Instead they pocketed whatever they got from the sales and again stuck it into the pc version. Now you are right they acted as "advisers" but in all reality there is no real reason they couldnt have done more other than they didnt want to. Had there been a better relationship between TFP, TT and IG i'd imagine things would have been done quicker and perhaps have been completed by now
  16. No and we dont really need them? It's dumb to assume TFP didnt see any profit from the console sales and no matter what percentage that may have been the fact is they used to it further pc development. If its 1% or 70% the money was spent to develop a product other than the product the sales were generated from. For the pure sake of argument lets say they sold 1 million copies on ps4 and a million on xbox at a conservative $10 a copy (way below the $29.99 tag it came out with). Even at 1% that means they had a profit of $200,000. Is anyone seriously going to argue that with even a 1% sale revenue TFP couldnt have worked towards finishing the console versions?
  17. What i am saying is if TFP sold the rights to develop a port then yes they should have invested some of the sales towards the development of their brand. TFP branding is all over the consol port i mean for the sake of image at least you would think they would reinvest some of that money. I also doubt very seriously TFP didnt see anything from the sale of the console port version of the game. I would imagine they got a portion of each sale maybe 5-10% with the rest going to TT/IG. If they didnt why stick around at all? Why leave your branding on a product you sold and want nothing to do with? Assuming they did benefit from the console copy sales it cant be argued that TFP took that money and stuck it into the pc version. So if they now have the option to take pc sales and use it to bolster the console players then its only fair they do so. Its just really amazing to me how unconcerned TFP have been regarding millions of players and how their only answer is to rebuy the game.
  18. No i prefer to look at it as TFP sold the licensing for a game they never intended to bring to console (they admit they dont have a clue on console), they then took all that money and instead of working to strengthen the console player experience sunk it all in to PC (the main area of focus since day 1). From the very start TFP have been utterly useless for console players and as evidence from their many many streams really only ever cared about pc players going as far as telling console players to rebuy their product. Unless people are operating under the idea that TFP sold the rights then 100% walked away (which is wrong by TFP own admission) there is no way you cannot fault them for this. TFP sold the rights to an unfinished product (a product never meant for console in the first place), decided to hide and blame literally everything on TT the entire time and now bought the rights back since there are millions of console players that potentially would pay them to fix their mistakes (what/why?). TFP knew since day 1 they had little to no interest in console porting but saw an opportunity to raise funds to finish their game so they took it and screwed the player base
  19. sure as long as you are willing to buy the new version of it on the new console assuming they get another company involved who knows console games. For those who bought it hoping it was a finished game or would at least see support this is not good news in any way. Either we are still years out from an update or we'll never get an update and instead be roped into buying another version of this game.
  20. So consol players are in fact getting the shaft after all this time? Man glad we all paid for a broken port that seemingly is as dead today as it was 2 years ago. Sorry not waiting for you to continue to pour money into pc players so i can maybe buy a new version of the game (or wait years for the current update already years behind). Bad business decision all the way around not sure its fair TFP are blaming anyone and washing their hands of it
