  1. I hereby requote myself for everybody who asked about my opinion about the "jars theme", and/or started/continued to try and explain/argue against or in favor of what I did recently post:
  2. If I had to guess I'd say at least 80% of the people play 7D2D modded, because vanilla has so many things that are easily fixable via mods (e.g. lockable inventory slots, although this has found its way into vanilla now). But from those lil qol features to complete theme-changing overhauls, there's so much to find. Is there a way to see/distinguish how many people play it vanilla vs modded, maybe in the steam statistics?
  3. yeah I like that too. Good thing I play a mod that adds a mod ("brass catcher") that does exactly this. I only wonder what imaginary/simulated container there is to catch all the casings...oh wait, that is not vanilla, so screw it! 🤣
  4. 7D2D isn't a survival game in the first place. It's a looter-shooter that has also some - rather basic - survival aspects to it. People who would rather like to see its survival aspect being more predominant are disappointed by the water changes, because they see the "real life survival logic" being cut from the game. Especially in an "urban postapocalyptic suvival situation" - which obviously is exactly the theme of 7D2D - there should be an overabundance of empty ( or reusable full) containers which could be found all over the place, and you'd have no problem to get these (emtpy bottles and alike) and use them to collect water, fuel, and whatever other fluids you want and take it with you. That obvious break of logic is what bugs people. They're not really complaining that the game doesn't work anymore, in fact many people say that water is still too easy to get. It doesn't matter. So yes, the decision that TFP decided to get rid of emtpy containers does work gameplay wise, but with said downside. Making water scarce is...questionable and may still be subject to further balancing. But really there is no need to try and explain these people from end to end why their opinion that there should be empty containers in the game is (allegedly) bad/wrong/logic breaking/... When somebody says he wants to fetch water from a lake and doesn't like that this is gone, just tell him: YES! In that aspect, that decision totally sucks! Basic survival logic was taken away from a game that claims to (also) be a survival game. But it was for the good of other aspects that profit from that desicion. And yes it works smooth overall, despite the "stupidity" that...and many other things too if you think carefully. This is not The Long Dark...and I'm glad it isn't. ...well, considering the length this post has reached...the long dark might apply somehow to it...sorry...
  5. Ah then it was a language thing on my side, I was simply referring to/defining "screws=part with outside thread" and "nut=part with threaded hole/inside thread", and assumed you did know only one type to attach a wheel, but there's these two. My bad. So it was meant more like "bolts and nuts fit together, via same thread" (more in the machining context), but the term "screw" is more common for the parts e.g. in woodworking, where you screw it right into the material you want to construct/tighten/connect/whatever...? But you can still say "I screw a bolt into a threaded hole", or "screw a nut onto a bolt", right? Well I like to claim my english is fine, but these little details still catch me. ...btw I knew a guy who bolted a screw in his nuts...heard he calls himself Sally nowadays.
  6. not sure whether people didn't get the point or just wants to bug me...or this is all just some language problem. Anyway, for everybody's total-off-topic information: They both exist.
  7. 🤔 Now I still can't tell the exact difference between screws and bolts, but the difference between screws/bolts and nuts stays obvious.
  8. Fuel: I want it, I go to a car, havest some, take it with me to use and/or store it for later. Water: I want it, I can go to a lake, take it with me to use and/or store it for later.....not. And people who are complaining about this "logic" have a "broken sheme" 🤔 I already suggested a "drip collector" workstation, (some tind of tarp you put under a car, and it collects a certain amount of fuel a day that is leaking from the tank) But nobody responded.😛😬
  9. You'd be surprised how common it is otherwhere on the world to have tire/wheel screws instead of nuts. A great thing to store screws is a glass jar btw. Pretty damn useful thing, wish we could have some in the game, I can imagine other use cases too...like getting water from a lake. Will post that in the pimp dreams section.
  10. Exactly my first thought when I saw the news/new model. I strongly assume Grace must be somewhat related to the yet-to-be-revealed storyline. If it was just some kind of funny "easter-egg-entity", it would be a really prominent example of "strange priorities where to put work in". ...but yeah, you know...genetical experiments with plants...boars fed with the enhanced turbo-formulated super corn...unexpected side effects...the whole Carl's Corn/Bob's Boars POIs next to each other on Navezgane map, it just screams "story". ...well at least in my head...but there are lots of voices in there, screaming all kinds of stuff. So nevermind.
  11. there is a general support section of this forum, dedicated to things like your problem, where this thread would have had a better home. General Support - 7 Days to Die That said, I'm pretty sure you missed something to wipe, and the errors occuring are because it isn't a total clean install, but there are still remnants of some mods. You said you removed the files. Did you keep the folders from a former installation? When you are completely sure you did wipe everything, then go ahead and post a proper bug report. There is a form for that, and that's the correct way. Pretty sure nobody will email you.
  12. try out joke mod...you'll pretty quickly get fed up with all the honky squeaky noises, next to the confetti explosion death animation.
  13. fully intended. Makes it look graceful.
  14. @Kuosimodo for President! Make DevDiary Great Again! 💥🎉
  15. Maybe you meant Kinyajuu? At least he's TFP staff. The other one you speak of is just a random forum member who frequently dislikes my posts 😄
  16. birdstrikes...a constant pain in the a.., from Lilienthal to the postapocalyptic future.
  17. I have always been tempted to get me a set of VR goggles, but I'm not sure it is already in an enough "mature" state...like I always wanted to have a 3D printer, but this stuff will catch my interest not before the moment when there's a 3D scanner unit attached to it so I can fix a broken piece or whatever I want by placing into the scanner, and it produces the part without me having to tweak around hundreds of settings with elaborate detail knowledge. I guess I have too high expectations on these things...but it sounds really cool...maybe one day.
  18. wait until they reveal the armored bandit battle dogs Obvious thing if you ask me, that bandits would keep wild zombie dogs, rig them with nasty body attachments, and let them loose on people. Maybe even with some robotic features...to prevent them from turning against their owers...then you'd have all three of them. Armored robotic drone zombie bandit battle dog it is. ...wow sounds like one of these weird manga series that always start with this little kid that is new at school...
  19. how do people find time to play computer games when they have kids anyway? 🤔 I want to be in that parallel universe too. Beam me over.
  20. I was tempted a few times too, to give Skyrim another go, after all these years. Never did it though, but with all the mods, and my new and much more capable rig, it should be a completely new experience...well that might be the case first and foremost because it must be 10 years since I touched it last, and I completely forgot everything 😄 ...considering 7D2D moddability/longevity, I have to admit I hope .2 goes stable soon, because I'm really looking forward to DF5.0. And the main reason for this is probably the core of what started this thread. DF already has a long-term storyline to follow, and you have to keep on "evolving" and get more and more better stuff, just to be able to advance in this story step by step. Vanilla does lack that motivating factor - as of yet. I'm really curious what you guys come up with in the end though!
  21. so...does that mean that in your mod account, there are generally enough unapproved posts to fill about three pages, that never actually make it in? Please, make a dedicated thread for those, I desperately need some inspiration.
  22. I came around with a similar idea several months ago, even a bit more elaborate... but sure, just the ammo pouch/compartment would also already be a welcome "anti-clutter-qol-feature"
  23. Describe it as "domestic twitch integration", and it might get top priority for being integrated.
  24. agreed. But if you mean "TFP announces A22 features/infos" by saying "official"...then this is the wrong place, and we all have to wait for the successor of this thread. And as long as that doesn't happen, I'm fine with chatting around here about whatever we might come to.
