  1. Fair enough. The OP certainly paints a rather grim picture for something that is just a general reality in any game structured the way this one is and that the type of player you are pair up with will make or break the experience.
  2. I honestly have never really played a game on Navesgane before. Always been on random maps. One of these days Ill do a full run there. I have started a few but never really played them to far. The Random aspect of the map is what keeps me enjoying the game. One of my gripes with Empyrion is they just removed their random maps for the starter worlds, a terrible idea IMHO. NO! BAD ROLAND. We do not talk about those days...
  3. You think? I fond sledges MUCH better, by a long shot to be honest. Single zeds are flatly never a problem but the sledge with its AOE knockdown effect allows you some major crowd control. You do not even need to hit the zeds, you can hit a wall as you run by and knock down zeds trying to follow. The strength tree in general is way too powerful compared to the others, save int, because it has the best melee weapons combined with the tool perks IMHO. I think the drop rate of the spear, thread and arrow books were just a side effect of pooling them into a loot list that is literally everywhere. Every single home and almost every major city street contains a box that contains, essentially, just those three options. Of course, none of that matters. The books have fundamentally changed now anyway so this likely played a role as well.
  4. Well, sure. But I was more commenting on the fact that anytime someone says there is loot competition everyone assumes it is of the latter type rather than the former. That is just silly to me, most of it will be the healthy kind and that does deserve to be addressed even if a fix is unlikely. Some games, like Diablo, have actually put in measures to deal with this. I do not think there needs to be any changes in this game as I said before because you end up with a lot more crap in MP than you do in SP anyway but there are people that disagree.
  5. While the OP seems to be getting at something more, I do not understand where the opposition to 'competing' for loot comes from. It is a given that you are competing for loot as there will be overlap in what you both need. It is likely that you will share some ammo types, armor or weapons. You will certainly share tools. It means there is competition for loot even if it is 100 percent cooperative in the manner that you divide it up at the end. Of course I have to disagree with the OP's point though as the sheer amount of loot you will get with multiplayer is much more than single player as the game becomes exponentially easier with multiple people making looting far faster. The mention of zeds getting harder ignores the fact that is tied to your loot level as well so your loot is also greatly improved. the bigger issue IMHO is that there really is no semblance of balance in multiplayer and, afaik, TFP does not have plans to truly address that. The game is a single player game in its center even if multiplayer exists.
  6. ^this Feral sense seems to accomplish the same thing but without creating another thing you micromanage away. That is all smell really would turn into, something you work around once you get enough stuff and forget it even exists. Feral sense is pretty fun IMHO, it makes the zeds much more of a problem. I do wish it worked better with the stealth perks though. It basically removes that aspect.
  7. They have a place but I find that sledges, clubs or knives are all vastly superior to spears. They really only allow me to save ammo/mats early game when I do not have unlimited bullets or arrows to use on high HP animals like bears.
  8. There are ramp blocks that do that just fine. Why do you want to use the block shape rather than the corner one that is made for that purpose?
  9. playing dead is dead does it for me. Means there is ALWAYS a point that a zombie bear might drop in on you and end that 100 hour castle you have built. That tension keeps it interesting for quite awhile.
  10. I find it rather odd that anyone would state that INT is underpowered in any way. For me, INT is not just the most powerful tree, it is more powerful by a MASSIVE amount. Double turrets are, IMHO, the fastest means to clear any area. The Traps cover horde night though you can acess those other ways and the extras you get at the trader increases basically everything. Dual turrets are by far the most powerful weapon you have available to you. They will clear the top floor of a T5 for you if you just run in a circle.
  11. OM MY GOD, you feel my pain. Or when targeting a zed on the ground and your power attacks hits the grass instead of his head. 🤬
  12. Auger. Way to damn loud. I actually turn my sound off when doing large mining operations on occasion specifically because of that.
  13. Meh, not really. It is useful almost all the time, you just need to know how many hits each of larger zeds take and use it when you need the proc (such as knockdown with sledges) or when it will save you a swing. Most of the time I know if I need to hit the zed 2 more times or if 1 power swing will take care of it and the power swing is almost always useful in that situation.
  14. This. It gets to irrelevancy pretty fast. It does give a crap ton of XP though, particularly if you slam a lernin elixir first. I doubt this is intended considering the massive amount it will give you basically for free. Crafting XP everywhere else is miniscule and generally pointless. I am not going to carry around all the concrete I am turning into blocks for an hour or sit at a forge to get the equivalent of killing 2 or 3 zeds. You are better off getting that xp any other way. Not so with the stacks and that is not something that this developer seems to like.
  15. It's not 'reality' people are actually looking for even if they mention realism. It is immersion. And that does matter. I think that deer meat proportions are minor enough that it does not effect my immersion and there are plenty of other things that are much more of an issue in that arena but it does not mean that it does not effect others immersion.
  16. Really? IIRC, I have received debuffs while messing around in god mode so I was at full health the entire time. Are you sure a full health character is immune to crits?
  17. I see what he is describing as well. It is just visual though and temporary so I never really bother with it. It just looks like your vehicle is heavily damaged sometimes when it is not.
  18. I would challenge the assertion that it is the 'most effective way to play.' Indeed, the horde night is extremely ineffective - you are typically going to lose a lot more than what you get and exp gain can be better optimized if you are not prepping for a horde. The vast majority of players fight the horde simply because it is not only fun but adds a much needed motivational aspect that keeps pushing the player to do something. Without horde night all my other requirements are essentially covered by day 2. Sometimes fun is enough. The problem the OP is facing is that in an open world game like this one the developers MUST give the players many different options for influencing the environment around them. That will always lead to players being able to game the AI and avoid things like horde night in one way or another. AI is simply not advanced enough to be able to cover every possible action the player may or may not take. Every single alpha has opened a new way to game the horde as it has closed and this will ALWAYS be the case. The reality is you have to simply choose not to use them. As long as they are not gaping holes this is something, IMHO, that we just have to work with as players.
  19. I do know they shoot through blocks but they do that through any block iirc. It also damages the block as well.
  20. The only real downside here for me is that the RNG can really screw you over with super corn because it is pretty damn rare. Finding a few super corn seeds is jut aggravating because there is a reasonable chance that they fail and you are left with 4 super corn and noting to do with it. I really hate the new farming system but I understand what they are going for and the other changes in 20 just flood it out so overall I think it was a really fantastic update. I actually preferred much older versions where we could simply 'take' the plants rather than having to re-plant them every time. I would much prefer if they kept that in but changed the harvest itself to possibly yield nothing or just one crop until you perked it up. Replanting my garden every time is just boring IMHO.

That has been mentioned in another thread. I am not sure the modding tools are there to create such a mod though it would be pretty awesome. Towing something is not really anywhere else in the game. The effect is easy enough to create and there are plenty of mods that do add massive amounts of storage space but actually having something that you can see attached to the 4x4 and also having it effect things like top speed and handling not so much. I would love to see it too but I doubt the devs see it as viable considering the work involved and that it would require an entirely new system to be added. You could start a thread in the Pimp Dreams section.

As a MOD it is not a bad idea if that is what you are looking for. Bridges or tunnels through mountains are infrastructure projects that I think is more practical, requires less resources, scratches that infrastructure itch and does provide some real benefits if you structure the map to accommodate it like increasing rivers or crevices. Still not really a worth while endeavor but it does fill that niche quite nicely. All of those can be done rather easily in vanilla. If the point is not infrastructure but automation then this is really the wrong game for that. There are a lot of games structured around that type of play and they are quite fun in their own right.

If it respawns often enough then closer locations would still be preferable to be honest. they respawn also.
