  1. @DUST2DEATH - I have noticed that on some people when joining and even happened to me, That are some floating Trees, all are 1-hit to take them down, what is causing that and is there a way to fix that? On my main PC that I work off of and play on I do not see the issue. However others joining the server with the mod see this 50/50 on when that happens. I tested on my laptop and then I was faced with the same thing.

     

    They are EVVVVERY where, and felt like I just jumped out of a scene in Predator into a jungle LOL

     

    Can you please send me details in a PM. A way to repro if possible.

     

    Dedicated server Im assuming from previous. Existing save or new?

     

    All those types of details please.

    @Chikorina: I looked at your tree farming report yesterday. All seems to work as expected in new version. :)

  2. Im sure.

     

    The changes to the next version to mitigate a lot of this and streamline future updates is extensive. It will give you all the ability to mix and match a lot of options going forward to cater your games to yourselves. Once I have the next version out I will be able to focus on other areas in a more timely fashion to hopefully avoid frustration for you all, and then I'll consider the updating to experi if it isnt stable by then.

     

    If I was to give a rough estimate of where Im at to when you get the next update? Possibly tomorrow is the earliest I'll even guess right now.

  3. It doesn't appear to work on 17.1. It crashes immediately upon startup.

     

    The resources file needs to be updated for experi.

    The BlockTextures and TerrainTextures *still* work with 17.1

     

    The mod will be following the Stable Branch of the game at *this* current time.

    Is it the same install steps to put this on a server?

     

    Yes, but you only need HDHQ.unity3d and XML files. You do not need the other resource bundles.

    Everything as modlets *very* soon.

     

    @Dust2Death; Mod is working great in co-op online with my friend and seem to work great with other mods when put together smart. thanks for the awesome stuff :)

  4. @DUST2DEATH I know its taboo to ask, but....

     

     

    my players are wanting to start a new world, but im wondering if we should wait a few days, to see if the new trees/update are coming soon. since it would likely require a new world to be compatible, we'd have to restart again.... in your opinion should i go ahead and start our new world?, or do you think there's a tiny possibility of a chance that the next version is coming "soon©" enough that i should wait.

     

    either way i cant tell you how amazing and grateful we all are for this amazing AAA quality mod/Gift ( It looks like professional work, is this your job or something? ) and i consider it a privilege to have available since it must require a lot of work and time.

    It's not my day job no. Maybe one day? Who knows. Its a creative outlet for me more than anything. I get something in my head then I need to get it out.

     

    Time lines are funny beasts. I spend more time than I want to admit on this mod :) I can tell you that Im currently working on the Wasteland Biome trees for the Vanilla Redux pack.

     

    Once I have completed those I need to fix the guns. (shouldnt be all to time consuming)

    Once Ive completed those I need to modlet the Baseline Biome pack. (this wont take long)

     

    After that, Ive got a bug I need to chase down in the prefab editor. (unknown time).

     

    Then we will see where we are at. It could be a week out, It could be by the weekend. Depends.

  5. Hey Dust

    Been using your mod in A17 and am loving it.

    A couple of issues re using with an existing save though.

     

    Firstly, you can get glitching with trees growing through boulders and through garden plants causing further glitching if you attempt to remedy it.

    Ground levels can glitch out as well.

     

    Secondly, a new forest of 1 hp trees causes an unintended exploit.

    All the trees are one hit away from their xp and wood bonus, reclearing a once cleared area can quickly give a large boost in both.

     

    Lastly, a vague hypothetical.

    How hard would it be to apply your textures to A15?

     

    PM sent about the glitching.

    As for the trees, and the XP. Im not sure if there is anything I can do about it with existing saves. I'll poke around.

     

    Absolutely they did. My comments above in my initial post were not very well thought out; I was just really salty about the reflection problems around POI's and I should have worded it a lot better... better than the rabid utterances of a deranged lunatic... at least.

    I think that most of the new textures in A17 are really nice; even with reflections off (thankfully). The wood, concrete, flaking paint, metals and rust, the detail in fabric military tents, that gorgeous blood red that decorates the spikes. And the flagstone is just stunning. Torches and interior lighting? ♥♥♥♥ing sumptuous.

     

    Running down streets, flanked on either side by all the new derilict POI's, (some ingeniously built by fiendish bastards) with your texture mod installed, with it's new trees and vegetation, encrouching upon concrete and brick, rusting cars and discarded shopping carts... is so very atmospheric. Really top tier. The "big man" and his team, are very talented artists.

  6. Those screens look great. Is that a river... in random gen? Can't be, must be the small Nav map. Awesome work. Now if only the Pimps gave out access to the blocks...

     

    To be fair, the Pimps really did step it up with 17 and the block textures. Sure there is some Im not a fan of due to the way they tile, but overall, they did a good job.

     

    Is anybody actually running this mod on a dedicated server (my host is Blue Fang)? I've tried uploading the necessary server files and disabling EAC but whenever I connect, I get an empty menu screen. Everything works correctly for me when I start a single player game. I contacted support and they uploaded the files as well (HDHQ.unity3d & config .xmls) and it still doesn't work.

     

    Edit: Nevermind. User error.

    Yes. These are part of a vanilla redux pack for the next version. Something people were asking for.

     

     

    Hell, I would even sacrifice a few fps for better grass. Rust game uses Unity and looks much better, do you think could be possible in this voxel game without killing the performance?

     

    Rust isnt Voxel IIRC.

     

    Ive briefly looked at the grass but its not cheap in the grander scheme of things.

  9. The problem was not there before i installed this mod, so yeah but i just need to cut the faulty trees down and plant new ones, problem solved ;)

     

    its because you are on a existing save. The game stores information when you start a new game. No real way around it, other than know they are 1HP in explored areas, and normal in unexplored areas :)

    I really love this mod that you have provided the community with.

     

    I was playing a seed and installed it after i saw Games4kickz using this, i just have a slight problem, i understand there can be complications and such when applying it to an ongoing save :) But got two big holes in my concrete walls like 5x5 :p was really fun, due to a tree got spawned at the location of the concrete wall :p

     

    But do you or anyone know a fix to fix the 1 hp trees? That is the problem i really was going to ask if anyone experienced aswell and now how to fix :p

     

    Edit: nvm, seems like it only affects trees in the surrounding area, activated DM and teleported to unexplored territory and there it worked like a charm with full HP trees.

    @DUST2DEATH - love the mod! silencers don't seem to work right with the weapons, followed your instructions and copied every single one using the new names and grabbing the positions that are used for the originals and they are all offset. JUST FYI not sure why they are like that

    I dont think there is currently any way around this unfortunately.

  11. Thank you for an amazing mod! I compared the localizations txt and didn't see any changes from vanilla, so I replaced it with my vanilla Japanese translated version of the localizations txt. There weren't any big problems with it that I could see, but there were some small things, like, there were two torches, one had the Japanese name one it, and the other said something else. There were also a bunch of tree seeds that I couldn't find in the localization txt. Is there another way that I should be putting in the translations? Other than just replacing the existing localization and localization-quest?

     

    I recommended your Mod to a few streamers in Japan, and they fell in love with it. I have a feeling a lot of Japanese players are going to be installing it now. It's very nice for the FPS, but when you replant the seeds you get from cutting down trees, the frame rate drops drastically, because the replanted trees grow up to be vanilla trees.

    The growing on my end was untested although I didnt expect them to turn into vanilla trees, so I will have to revisit that.

    The seeds were there just in case. I didnt want to take anything away from anyone. There is also conversion recipes that let you convert the new seeds back to regular, in case it was broken.

     

    I didnt do any localization for the 1.0 release so you're not missing anything, its just not there at the moment.

     

    If there is anything else not working, I missed etc. Please let me know (my list of various things is quite long).

  12. I know this may be too much of an ask, but if possible Id love for the trees as they are now to remain in some fashion, even if not active. So far we have been testing Ravenhearst with this pack and not only is performance amazing but the trees are working so well in our favor when it comes to hidden pois and zombies. The atmosphere is amazing. Either way Im a lifetime member of the Dust fan club but had to ask :)

     

    The Baseline group wont be going anywhere, so no worries there.

    As Gup mentions, you'll be able to mix and match however you like soon.

    Word on the street is the better trees are going to be optional. You decide which trees you want to use. That kind of thing. That's the word on the street. Sesame Street.

  13. I love your mod and it really is a great job, finally there are more fps more stable and less lagge in certain areas. The only thing I do not know is that it is a fault when installing it or that is how the trees smash them with a blow with the ax, as if they had no life and give me the wood what would be the end when you fell to the tree. Is it normal?

     

    certain information is baked when you start a new game.

    As you are using an existing save, those trees in that already explored area are wonky.

    Trees in new areas will be normal HP.

  14. Hi! this look awesome! I play in 720p, is it worth installing this? My GPU is slow :(

     

    you should still get a visual improvement using the 2K textures.

     

    The low poly trees should give you a perf boost. (if you use them)

    They may not be to your taste currently but you will get a boost from them. You could even dial the spawning probability down in the biomes.xml file to get even more fps.

    Ok, which ones?

     

    resources.assets contains lighting.

    blocktextures contain currently water and grasses.

    terraintextures are all the terrain and ore textures.

     

    If all you want is the terrain, then grab just the terraintextures file.
