  1. Suppose there is no point in developing Starvation now until A17 is out. Just a question, is Starvation for A17 planned?
  2. Should I get MINER69ER level-5? In the past, I've seen a heavy discussion that level-5 is useless in vanilla due to high block damage vs. lesser overall yield. Is it the same in Starvation?
  3. I put 40 cornBread and 5 meatStew into the fridge. She doesn't eat it. The fridge is right next to her.
  4. ^nah, it's just bottom fridge powered through cable (connected to fuel generator) and top one sitting on it. It is a regular fridge setup. However, the farmer station keeps losing HP over time. Gotta have to try putting various food there.
  5. Thanks. That worked. Another problem: I placed a refridgerator (top and bottom) with power source next to her storage box. I placed 5x meat stew, and 40x corn bread into it. She's not eating any of that. But the farm station seems to be losing hp every hour.
  6. Does female farmer refuse to plant when she is stationed one level above the field? Does she need to be connected to the field (right next to it) ? Looks like she refuses to work like this: http://i65.tinypic.com/2rxhg6u.png
  7. Speaking of NPCs. I recently built the Radio Tower and the NPCs that spawn nearby seem to be quite chaotic in their behavior. They will ascend nearby ladders and often they would jump into my trap pit (full of spikes) and die. Telling them to stand still doesn't seem to make them stay for long. I try to deploy them as fast as possible and then disable the power feed for the tower so they don't screw around the base. Oh and I will never forget that a**hole who spawned in my crops field and decided to have a walk straight through every plant and destroyed all in process.
  8. Make sure you check that you game is really the latest version (16.0.1.03) This version pretty much solved all the farm animal issues for me (and I had plenty)
  9. Try this. This worked for me (but my server is dedicated, so results may vary). Use whip to store all your animals in your inventory. Save and quit. Delete animal files from the save/MorteAnimals Start the game/server Place them again.
  10. Mort mentioned that Goats don't show tooltips (text when you press E). Try it with Cows, that should work. If not, make sure you have the latest update and delete animal files from the save game.
  11. Few questions: 1.) I can't seem to target goats with "E"? It doesn't show any tooltip like on cows 2.) Is there a limit on how many chickens and rabbits can exist in Chicken Coup / Rabbit Cage? I think rabbits never spawn above the number 4 and the chickens only produce eggs and feathers, but they don't seem to multiply? 3.) If I harvest a chicken/rabbit with a knife, do I get more meat/feathers than if I did it with the fireaxe? Obviously, I could test it out, but I do not have the book to craft the knife yet.
  12. How do you tame farm animals twice? I thought once you beat them with a stick and they appear in your inventory you just release them and they are yours.
  13. Repelent light to avoid bugs from eating your crops. You need to connect them to the generator with Wire tool. To avoid rats from eating your crops, the trick is to limit the amount of space they can spawn on. If you place your farm on one layer of wood blocks, and seal the farm with another set of wood blocks, the rats will usually spawn outside of it, thus being unable to actually reach your crops. Or, build the Noise rat repelent.
  14. Pretty much anywhere underground. Dig down, you will eventually run into copper. It's fairly common, but much less common than regular iron ore. @Mort, Deleting the animal files from the server does not fix the issue with animals. Here's how it goes for me: Male Goat + Female Goat = breeding okay, but no food consumption, immortal=they never die on their own, upon death by axe they drop rotten meat instead of regular meat Cow = no food consumption, milk gathering works fine, mortality not tested. Male Pig + Female Pig = breeding not working, no food consumption either, immortal as well. Rabbits = breeding works even if only ONE rabbit is present in the cage. Food and water consumption works.
  15. ^I'll try that as well and report back. My animals are bugged the same way at the moment.
  16. Put a male and a female into the enclosure. If they are fed using trough, they will start producing small offspring. I think both genders vary in size, so it's easy to tell them apart. I just don't know if the large one is supposed to be male or female. With bunnies however, you can just put one into the rabbit enclosure (in case of rabbit enclosure, that is an actual craftable object), then put in one rabbit, some rabbit feed and a bucket of water, and they will start to multiply regardless of whether both male and female are present, you just need one.
  17. That is what I am experiencing as well. Free-roam goats drop meat, bred goats drop rotten meat. Pretty sure it's a bug or xml config issue.
  18. On my dedicated server (latest starvation version random-gen map) , the animals do actually breed, but they don't eat as well. I have had 960 animal feed in trough for the past several days and it has not decreased ever since. It's surrounded by 4 goats and 2 pigs (2 goats are bred). Also, I killed off one bred goat because it got spawn-stuck in a fence and it dropped rotten meat when I axed the corpse, which doesn't make much sense to me, since free-roam animals drop regular meat.
  19. Do I need to play RandomGen to get the full benefits of Starvation? Can I play Navezgane map? I noticed a NPC bandit in randomgen, but I have yet to see one in Navez. Even though, everything else seems to work (rad-zones, wildlife, new ore types).
