  1. The game is in alpha. They haven't added railings to modding yet. It seemed pretty clear to me. He said the skill would increase by reading stuff you find in loot, so no, it's not LBD.
  2. I gather it's more like prime facepalm emoji then?
  3. That's a bug in the mod, not in 7 Days to Die.
  4. Besides, armor is passive defense. It doesn't need a skill.
  5. I'd like two separate upgrade paths: wood frame -> wood -> cobblestone -> concrete and scrap iron -> steel. It makes more sense to me that way. Right now I'm having to craft steel blocks for the key SI points of my base, and couldn't possibly afford building the stuff I did back in alpha 16 when I really stretched the limits of SI.
  6. Is there a stripper parade on the street below the bridge? I'd argue Valheim has a pretty good implementation of LBD. Crafting is not a skill in Valheim, however, and it's only locked by materials. Guppy makes a good point that crafting in 7d2d is missing the D in LBD. You don't "do" crafting, you queue it and the computer does it for you. There's also the lack of failure and consequences of failing, and the fact that your skill results in the same quality across all tiers -- you craft steel axes with the same quality as you craft stone axes. It reminded me of Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator, which has the most interesting tech tree unlock and crafting system I've ever seen. I'd be totally ok with LBD if crafting required a minigame in the likes of Potion Craft.
  7. I, for one, hope it is NOT an LBD. Why? Because it's crafting. Crafting is where LBD does not work unless attempted crafting can fail resulting in loss of materials -- just like attempted melee can fail and result in loss of life. LBD is great for fighting: you get better at what you use, and suck at what you don't. It's ok for stealth as long as there's an opponent with a perception at least comparable to your level, or for running and jumping (see Valheim for these three). But alpha 15's "craft 500 stone axes" is awful. --- Is there a reason why the sewer hatch is not player craftable? It looks so cool.

  9. I wish there was a clear split on crafting/looting. Crafted weapons and armors should be potentially better than the best looted ones, to give an incentive on maxing out crafting for them. Weapon and armor mods should be loot only, to give an incentive to keep looting searching for them. And it should not be possible to uninstall a mod, giving an incentive to get more of them as well as recrafting weapons and armor to make use of newly acquired mods.
  10. I made a base on the drive in. Why? Well, there's plenty of space of course but on top of that there's a big gamestage increase and that makes the horde night loot more rewarding. And though I didn't do that, I could also make the base cross the POI boundary so I could stay on the plain gamestage side but the zombie bags would fall on the POI gamestage side. I don't like the incentive the POI gamestage creates to use POIs as horde bases, and I wish something was done so wilderness horde bases would not "lag" behind POI horde bases.
  11. Is it truly without seeing you? Remember that diagonals between blocks do provide line of sight (like with ramps connected only diagonally), and ground is essentially transparent.
  12. It could be an option, though. Even on MP there's a place for a resource exhaustion gameplay, particularly on small groups. It's something I'd like to see as a finishing touch on gold.
  13. I said on stream that Alpha 20 felt like the JaxTeller Edition. 😂
  14. You need 5 points for LotL 3. Increase Fortitude to 3 (2 points), wear the tough guy sunglasses (For +1), eat sham chowder (For +1), increase LotL to 3. Repeat sunglasses/sham chowder when harvesting/making seeds.
  15. And on the note of traders, how about adding an option where if you are inside when the trader closes you can choose to slip him 100 dukes to get a couple more minutes? 😂
  16. I'm all for a no-trader option, but, hey, playing the trader is a game, and many people enjoy it. That's what he said. Indeed. He's from a friend who only does melee: Damn... and that's only for the medium-sized version of the game. You should have seen the stats for the tile-sized version! This is the one I'm currently playing in: https://imgur.com/2IR1kB4 My base is within 1km of factory 1, factory 3, skyscrapers 1, 2 and 3 and the apartment building. Among a lot of other things. And three traders. I was on day 10 when someone sent me that seed, and I decided to restart right away.
  17. Nowadays the 4x4 and motorcycle have almost the same speed, but that wasn't the case when the 4x4 was introduced. If @meilodasreh really has only driven a 4x4 on alpha 17, then he has no idea what a 4x4 feels like since alpha 18.
  18. Why are you placing final blocks instead of upgrading from frames? A full upgrade is very fast with the nailgun. Sure, the single upgrade of a rebar was even faster, but replacing the frames is definitely slower than upgrading it all. Granted, load bearing blocks need to be placed as the final material, but that's a much smaller scale.
  19. Backspace should clear it if you are opening the shape menu. You don't have to select it. Say you opened the shape menu and searched for something, then closed the shape menu. Next time you open the search menu, you type "f" and that will automatically select the text. Then you press backspace and it is cleared.
  20. Could someone explain the notations on aaa_poi_sizes? Like this, for example, what does A37 and B22 mean?
  21. This would be interesting. What if you got to choose one workstation to unlock as a tier completion reward? And to spice things up, have grill and cooking pot locked in the campfire (or a campfire-like workstation that does not need them) and have that also be one of the unlockable stations. And to reduce the op-ness of it, make it so you have to pay for every hour of use on top of that. I'd love such a system.
  22. You need to find a specific magazine to be able to get acid by wrenching them.
  23. Acid barrels give gas. And only gas. You can wrench them for acid, but their loot is only gas. Gas on an acid barrel?
  24. What do you mean? Jawoodle found it on day 1. Have you clicked it?
