  1. There were improvements to a bunch of sources of light -- the campfire included, I believe -- very recently (b231 to be precise).
  2. TIL! But that doesn't prevent spawning if the sleeper region actually extends further down (or further up), does it? Or if there's a linked region on the place you are coming from to activate the region you are going to? That would actually be a pretty cool mechanic. I find it so sad that wood doesn't catch fire in 7 Days to Die... But you probably doesn't even have to make it so you'd die if you remained -- I know a lot of people who hate the burnt forest biome above all others, with that constant smoke fog and dreary looks.
  3. Regarding the new sounds: it's a hit & miss. Some are improvements, some feel like they are about the same but unfamiliar, but some are absolutely awful, unsatisfying and unsuited to the action. I think the importance of being "satisfying" cannot be understated. Repetitive actions such as mining are satisfying in 7 Days to Die in no small part because the sound effect is satisfying, and it would be a terrible shame to lose that.
  4. That, and buying, and chemical piles, and sinks and a few other places you can loot. It's rare, but it's there.
  5. I have an abundance of acid. That's due to the following factors: 1. I bought it at every opportunity on my traders; 2. I also bought wheels at every opportunity, in addition to the wheels I looted; 3. I picked the chemistry station as a tier completion reward (I didn't craft it before because I couldn't find a beaker -- and I still haven't found one); 4. I finally got the acid book (the last one I needed, iirc). There is just one medical container that can be harvested for acid, which is the first aid one. It's a white box with windowed doors, and can be lootable or empty. I believe you can get acid from both versions. It is not wrenchable, so just break it with an axe. The acid book also let you harvest acid from cars, which is a good source. The barrels that give acid are the green ones, iirc. The ones on that POI everyone seems to have died at lately, the house with a cemetery underneath right before the loot room. But after you have your vehicles and chem station there isn't a lot more you can do with acid. The only recurring resources that use it as Learning Elixir, Moonshine, Recog and Sham, none of which seems worth spending acid on.
  6. Actually, it is exactly how the different block HPs was implemented. And even before then (and now) it is used so things like zombie closets, hidden loot covers and street painting have fewer hit points. And it works exactly the way the name says: it multiplies the hit points (durability) by the value of shapeHitPointMultiplier.

  8. downtown_filler_09. How's that a tier 1 quest? Even being downtown already makes it non-tier 1, but the final fight is way above tier 1.
  9. Does the drone affect stealth? It seems it's much harder to be stealthy when using the drone, even in quiet mode. I don't particularly mind it, but it does not change the stealth meter.
  10. On b233 it is much harder to kill sleepers without waking up the others. In fact, I haven't been able to do it. Hitting zombies now is essentially equivalent to missing a shot and hitting a wall are previously.
  11. I take it if I think I might have time to do one of them during the night and, if not, I just delete them. But, to be fair, I do quests at night all the time so the increased danger is not an issue to me.
  12. Supposedly they offer increases loot stage, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
  13. Kage went once to the wasteland. It was the funniest episode I have ever seen from him -- I've never seen him that scared!
  14. It's been that way since forever. The chainsaw too. I believe I reported it in alpha 17. You know what else loses "capacity" when below 50% durability? Armor. It doesn't show on the stats, but it loses rating starting on 50%, until it reaches 0 at 0% durability.
  15. None of these things happened to me.
  16. It has the exact same damage. It is slower, so less DPS, but now it uses less stamina too which really makes up for it. I've seen a lot of streamers that just attack, back off, wait for the zombie act or not, then go in again. The pipe baton is the superior weapon for them (compared to the wooden club). Now... skills and magazines. The clubs are incredibly OP in this regard. Three exclusive mods, incredible bonuses and plus the completion bonus that makes it the best melee weapon bar none, since it allows you to always power attack. But you won't be seeing much of these while you are still using a wooden club. "What you said is not true because of X" "Well, here's the counterproof" "It doesn't matter anyway". Plus strawman. No one dropped out of the game because they couldn't find a steel pick on day 5. They dropped out because they couldn't find a quality 1 iron pickaxe on day 21. Because the loot on alpha 19 was very, very boring for weeks. And there's a big difference between burnout and boring. The same people who stopped playing alpha 19 altogether are all in on alph a20.
  17. And I know people who stopped playing because of that.
  18. Melee cheese? It is supposed to stop zombies while still allowing one to melee them, particularly spiders and dogs. The shape seems entirely appropriate for it, so what is the cheese? Cheese is dogs and spiders attacking _through_ a hatch and hitting you, without you being able to hit them back. Cheese is when zombies cannot reach you. That base brings zombies directly to you. It needs to be repaired or the zombies will break through. It is the opposite of cheese. And so is every base that is affected by this change. This change only affects bases where zombies where zombies can path to you. Actual cheese bases rely on having the zombies never hit a single block. Kage's base doesn't look efficient because it's not an OP AF cheese base. It's funny that you first dismiss his base as cheese, then you say it's not efficient and explains how he can cheese it.
  19. If they removed the 6x damage, then that's cool! Actually, yes! Kage tested it on today's video (linked below), and he DID die. Well, he died on the previous video, before horde night, but you didn't specify when. But he had to almost immediately fall back to his hatches which have not been nerfed and, by the shape logic, should have been.
  20. They ragdoll. Actually, it is NOT midstream. It's experimental. Experimental means subject to change at any time. If you want to not be subject to changes at any time, they have something else: the "stable".
  21. It can't be LoS because these zombies are usually inside a closet, so they wouldn't be able to see the player to begin with. Also, the scent system was removed in alpha 19, iirc.
  22. Poles have been the most common zombie-facing wall since alpha 16 because it allows melee while preventing zombies from moving forward. Now, if you think that a base that needs to be protected by melee is a cheat base, then we clearly have very different definitions of cheat bases. I presume a non-cheat base for you is one where one sits on top of a platform and rain gunfire on zombies that can't reach you, then?
  23. While it's all true, I'd rather the change was done the other way around, with the minimum durability remaining what it is right now. Gnamod did it, and it was awesome. Case closed. Though the material cost was also decreased in Gnamod's case.
  24. You can buy them. Maybe you can buy their schematic, not sure. You can loot the schematic from broken versions as well. And it might be a quest tier completion reward.
