  1. Anyone knows what is the chance that zombies will drop loot? Cause it feels ridiculously low now. I know i would enjoy killing zombies much more if drop chamce was at least 5-10%.


    Not trying to be an ass and don't take this wrong but it just might be me and a % of 7 day fans who think this way but why should the pimps have to tie a tbone around a zombies neck to get some one to want to kill it as it is a zombie killing game and the main reason we even have zombies is to just kill them before they kill us.


    I see your point just think it takes away from the whole zombie exp as well as if zombies drop the loot no reason to go hunt and search for loot if it travels to you on legs.

  2. So far I love a17 and the fact I see a lot more hordes and zombies. Loving the hell out of 7 days.


    Only down sides from my point of view is the following.

    Bug of tablesaw missing in the progression.xml so you can make it.


    Not all of the wood blocks are craftable in frame form and up gradable. example joints

    Some smaller blocks that are not full blocks example railings,joints plates can not be overlapped in the corners to allow better building options.


    Some things I'd like to see added as static models after finally getting the bus model are tractor trailer, Flat beds and the truck it's self Ambulance, fire truck, chopper, few tanks all these I'd prefer to be static. video below show a attempt to make a trailer for a new prison.

    Bug I in countered was a game breaker in countered it once so far is air drops started after day 3 when set to day 7 and they wouldn't stop we had over 25 air drops in minutes had to shut down dedicated server and restart only to find crates still was there just didn't show up as icons till you got close to them but the damage of to many air drops was done.


    Runs better on my machine than a dedicated server host. On dedicated server it feels like there is to much lag in the back ground example clubbing zombies took more swings as if they didn't do as much damage but if run on my machine me and my son could 2 power attack the starting zombies first swing no perks zombie was on the ground second swing dead on dedicated server might take 3 to 4 power attack swings settings where set the same so not understanding what is going on with dedicated server host game and one ran on my machine.

    Oh and I run a standard hard drive while dedicated server host is SSD.


    When using the decals in prefab editor get null ref issue.


    Some times the tree bug happens where you chop down a tree and the tree falls but there is still a tree standing that is untouchable.


    Some issues placing the new vehicles on flat land areas where nothing is blocking the placement. Have to run around till it lights up green in some odd places it shouldn't be placeable.


    Some prfabs that where not redone to be dungeon crawls are bla me and my son normally just run by them the dungeon crawling ones are the right direction.


    Some prefabs are being placed in air a bit still in random gen still work in progress.


    All the pros

    Love it just love it Dungeon crawling best thing you could do.

    Perk system love it.

    new vehicles love it.

    new blocks and assets love it. Hint don't stop adding this to bring out the game more.

    Zombie ai love it seems a 1000 times better this build have yet to see a zombie walk in a circle. Zombies in a building on other floors finding a path up to me faster is grandpa's awesome sause.


    Pimps video being made and will update post in few with link got to make video please come back and watch video. Joel I think you will tinker after seeing this after all it is your cup of tea and area.

  3. On the trader note I would agree that traders don't need to sell full weapons but only pieces of weapons.


    IMO it is way to easy to get weapons in 7Days so I always mod every patch.

    First all full weapons are removed from drops and only parts are dropped in game.

    All mining helmets an nail guns are removed only parts are allowed to drop.


    And now I don't use traders to much when I play only to get the quest done finding that first trader. Basically I need to look into replacing all weapons on traders with just weapon parts maybe then I will use traders.

  4. I think it would be kinda cool if TFP created a montage of some of the more funny bugs they've encountered while testing. Slap them into a video and release at the end of the week. Blooper reels always get good PR.


    I'd prefer they not waste time doing this and get A17e all tho I'm not against some lets play from the fun pimps show casing some things while we wait. Hint to madmole: About video time.


    Recording your self every time you test just to get bloopers is a waste of time working on a project cause time goes into recording every time you test. All tho just a random lets play show case is simple fast and not time consuming during work hrs.

  5. Hum IMO if you go over day 100 this game isn't for you. I never make it past day 22 before making a new map. By day 7 first horde night I'm already like level 50+ of course I play with lower night cycles and max day cycles but that's how I like to play.


    I really like playing that way and day 7 horde night when set this way all zombies will auto know where you at until I think 4am at this setting. My best fun is starting over and changing things up never same building or base style.


    In long term MMO's and such I don't like to lose what I earn, but 7 Days to Die is not a MMO and I treat it as such restarts and changing things up is how to get the most fun out of it.


    Try this if your board... Restart map never pick the same building don't build your own choose a prefab in game and always a different one.

    Don't pick military bunkers or skyscrapers. How do you do in different buildings?

  6. I'm rather disappointed with the Intellect perk tree. Not that there's anything objectively wrong with it - it just doesn't fit my playstyle (in other words it's my fault I'm disappointed with it, not the game's).


    Firstly, I really dislike the idea that you spend experience on perks that give you a boost to experience. That's always a problematic feedback loop that incentivises min-maxing.


    Secondly, I'm disappointed that gun crafting kicks in so early. To me, guns should be an endgame item that are rarely found (and bullets rarer - you should always need to think before shooting as to whether your situation is really desparate enough to spend the precious ammunition). The game, however, seems to be pushing more and more the other way with guns as the default weapon. It seems to be moving the genre from survival to shooter, which I'm not happy about.


    Thirdly - and again this is personal preference rather than objective criticism - it's more push towards bering a quest monkey for the traders, whereas I prefer to have neither traders nor quests. Again, it's pushing the genre away from survival - this time towards "RPG".


    So it's looking like I'll find the Intellect perk tree really annoying. On the one hand it's full of perks that I won't want to take so I'd want to just ingore it, but on the other hand it contains other crafting perks that seem pretty necessary so I'll need to take it anyway; and then I'll get irritated that I'm forced to use the experience increase mechanic...


    Just when I'd overcome my earlier malaise (from the previous videos about "dungeon" POIs and "boss" zombies and quests and factions) and started getting excited for the game again, this latest video has metaphorically slapped me in the face and brought me down to Earth by reminding me that the game is heading in directions I don't like.

  7. I love the fact that zombies want leave corpses now and there will be a bag with loot if it drops anything. Stops me from having to play clean up. What I would do tho if it's possible over time is expand on the decal system. Explained and a wish if possible to ever work in to the game.


    When a gun shot or weapon blow does dmg to any player, mob, or zombie a blood decal is left like a blood pattern. This blood pattern has a scent that can attract zombies if not taken care of over time. Block walls need to be cleaned and ground blocks need to be covered up with a chemical to hide the scent other wise zombies after a said time get attracted to the blood scent.


    I love the decal over a full body which has more polygons to have to deal with but a decal can be 2 to 4 polys.


    When I run threw 7Days the decals on the roads and ground are awesome and I think there needs to be more of that from fight scenes left behind.

  8. Love the work so far TFP, can't wait till A17.


    Some wishes for you to look into playing around with when you have spare time maybe you like and they could make it in or not.


    1) Do away with bird nest and add the feather/eggs in trees with a search option. When I mod I do away with bird nest and make trees a loot container and add the feathers and eggs to the tree container cause it feels more realistic.


    2) If there is a way to make the ground layers separate by height. So example every 5 blocks down there is a air layer which keeps getting thinner the deeper you go. Which would cause you to have to make ventilation shafts with powered fans to get air down below.


    This would make it challenging where one couldn't just dig down and make a bunker and make them have to spend more time earning points to unlock perks to make equipment to be able to make under ground bunkers with out running out of air.


    It's kind of like invisible water layers the longer you are in them the faster you loose air from breath gauge. Then example a fan could push air 5 to 6 blocks in a straight line then a different fan type could take that air flow and turn it in to a square block of air that goes x amount of blocks X,Y,Z


    3) Scuba tank and mask for exploring under water for treasure also to help build water bases, this could have future implements for DLC stuff.


    Joel still waiting on next video of info or just game play. Please don't hold off videos cause of a bunch of Aholes who whine on your youtube channel there are tons of us behind you and willing to wait for A17.
