  1. Khaines! Just wanted to say amazing mod! That's putting it lightly, I've played through so many mods this Alpha and darkness falls just stands out so much. The classes, the new items and workstations, dead trader locations and the QUEST GIVER! It's a work of art. This will be the final mod I play this Alpha and through a good bit of experimental as well. Can not wait to see what you accomplish with the new A17 changes. Looking forward to it. Thanks again Khaines. Oh and love the unarmed combat!

     

    I feel the same exact way. I can't praise khaine enough. I've played starvation, ravenhearst, gnamod, and wotw. This (to me) tops them all as far as fun, originality, and replayability. This is how 7dtd should be!

  2. I have to say, the Fun Pimps have a lot to live up to with the next alpha.... between darkness falls, ravenhearst and war of the walkers I could stay in THIS alpha for another year and be fine! Although I'm looking forward to the jeep, gyrocopter, etc, I bet with more time you guys could make better vehicles (you could prolly fix the pathing before them too lol)

    And I might just join the discord and try to be tester. Hell, I play this mod 4 to 5 hours a day, everyday....hmmmmm

  4. I did consider making the normal one a 3 slot, but I slightly prefer this way.

     

    That way, aside from the "no fuel" thing the advanced forge has, it makes it a very attractive upgrade.

     

    Though you have just given me an idea... hmmmmm.

     

    Oh I hope it's a 4 slot advanced forge lol

     

    EDIT: and YES the no fuel thing ROCKS! I've been grinding for advanced forges like a madman! And speaking of grinding, thank you so much for giving us ways to craft oil shale. It can be hard finding gravel patches in the desert...

Some new zombies, some "end game" areas where you can start the process of trying to build laser weapons, rebalanced the classes a bit, some extra titanium shapes for building, new UI (toolbar and compass for now, more later), reduced auger sounds, better optimized UMA textures for less CPU/GPU/RAM usage...

     

    I think that's most of it. :)

     

    EDIT: Oh! Got rid of the plains and pine forest biomes to start getting used to A17 (plains was rolled into desert, pine_forest rolled into normal forest)

     

    Sweet! I can't wait. I gotta say this is my favorite mod yet. Keep up the good work. I'm thinking of heading to 0,0 today after work.... im level 65 and still expecting to get romped lol

  6. Okay... if my memory is correct, then downloading and using the BBM version will NOT cause any issues. I know Kickz did, and some of my testers updated from 1.6 to 1.7 when I was testing it out.

     

    You might be missing a new POI, but all the fruit trees and such will still spawn in unexplored areas. :)

     

    However, if you're planning to restart, I recommend not doing so yet. I'm prepping a new update where a restart will be recommended.

     

    It worked beautifully! My world is intact, have bigger backpack AND updated version! I didn't even lose anything from my inventory. Nice. Time to kick butt on this before I go to 1.8!

  7. Kickz and Kage are using 1.7.5.

     

    If you downoloaded the EAC compatible version of the mod, then you need to know that isn't updated anymore. I think that's v1.6.2 but it does say that in the description on the launcher.

     

    It tells me on the splash screen I'm on version 1.6.2. Meh oh well. It's not s big deal, I was curious. It works, I love it and that's all that matters.

     

    Next question, if I were to download the Darkness Falls BBM version, will my current world need to be restarted? Or could I just simply hop back in with my bigger backpack?

     

    Amazing job on this mod btw. Great balancing of progression, challenge and rewards.

Idk if this has been covered or not yet (I didn't want to sift through 55 pages of posts) but my game seems different than youtubers' like kage848, games4kickz, etc. For example my UI is different, the trader quests do not include fetch quests, and even the pause splash screen is different. Are they playing on a different version or something?

     

    P.S. I am using the 7dtd mod launcher to run it

  9. I'm with you, jax. A17 will DEF keep us all entertained for a while. We will finally have reasons to loot basic houses most of us haven't touched in months (unless we're looking for twine on this mod lol).

  10. Having trouble finding "Chisel". Got every other tool (scavanging or at trader) so I em wondering if it is special places for chisel to look into? Can't seem to find Working Stiffs or Crack a Book so much in my seed - like 1-2 of each in like 7-8 cities.

    Collecting all that tools gives me a new class crate to craft?

    Really enjoying this mod but lack of spare time stopping me from progressing at pace I would like. Only at day 32 (lvl42) but getting there. Really great work Jax. ;)

     

    I know it'll take a while to reach this point but the radiation zone drops them too

  11. My only real issue with this mod is that stealth is no longer viable for looting buildings, since it's been nerfed into the ground so much. Everything is always facing the doors (even if you go in via an alternate entrance, which is stupid imo), so even if you try to crouch they'll still see you almost instantly because of the ridiculous aggro range. you'd think with their push for everything to be active at night, that daytime stealth wouldn't be such a chore. lul nope

     

    really lame that going guns-blazing is the only option. At least give us a stealth skill that we can pump points into or something, sheesh. :(

     

    agreed. Not having stealth really hurts, especially in skyscrapers. Not to mention zombies seem to sense me from 3 rooms away and have a knack for destroying loot containers

  12. Just started to play this mod and i have to say its pretty awesome. I am also looking for some seed names.

     

    SleekHunting2 is a fantastic seed. Towns on top of towns, and I haven't run into any large crappy biomes

    True, he hasn't. But I'M using SleekHunting2 and it's still awesome. I doubt town positioning will change; just certain POIs in those towns.

     

    EDIT: just checked youtube, Kage's first episode of ravenhearst 3.1.1 has him on this seed
