  1. It is not a bigger change than the new crafting mechanic and almost all of it can be done in XML. It would not be your usual run-of-the-mill more-maps-NPCs-quests DLC, sure, but quite possible. But that wasn't why I mentioned it. I wanted to show you topics that are actually popular (and still not popular enough to change the developers minds). I can think of only two reasons why they would consider it: Because lots and lots of players demand it and it would therefore generate more sales, which it won't do, any DLC with more zombies or almost anything else will make a profit as well, with much less hassle. Or because THEY really want it themselves (and all indications show they are against it or indifferent at max).
  2. I just looked at pastebin and you don't need an account to paste anything. You only need an account to edit or delete anything you posted. Some information about this game and performance: 1) 7D2D is a voxel-based game. It is a rather unusual way to represent the world but allows for a fully changeable world. But it has a price, it needs much more performance from the CPU than most games. It does not matter much what GPU you have, you need a recent and powerful CPU and ultimate settings are REALLY ultimate (don't use them unless you really have a top-of-the-line CPU and maybe not even then). Ryzen 5 3600 is a mid-range CPU from 3 years ago !! 2) 7D2D is not finished, it is in EA and still gets developed to be published at a future date. It will run well with PCs that are sold at that time but it will still be very demanding on the CPU. No way around it, 7D2D presents an unusual load to current PCs. If you want to play games without any problems, do not play games when they are still in Early Access. 3) There are still a lots of bugs and relatively few saveguards. Especially when you move between different versions of the game or use mods it is very easy to break the game. If you get in trouble, there is a way to reset everything: Start the launcher, select the tools tab and use the last option there to delete all configuration. Then delete the games program folder with Windows Explorer (if you are using Windows) and let steam reload the game.
  3. It is no surprise you want serious games, because you can't even see humor applied with bold strokes. Pink uniforms was an obvious exaggerated joke example to show that management would do the worst crimes for a few more bucks. No need to tell me that people don't want it. Sure, send me a pm. Afterwards I'll send you the same for people asking for LBD or asking for PvP exploits being removed and we'll compare. Naturally people buy the DLC because they are fans of the game and want more NPCs of any kind, maps or whatever else this pack provides. But how many of those people did buy it just because it added underage zombies and would not have bought it otherwise? I can't say that for CA's game, but I don't see any indication in the forum of 7D2D that a DLC for it adding new zombies would sell so much better if some of the additional zombies in it were underage.
  4. As Roland said perks allow you to influence it. But there are more reasons why a caliper-disaster is not likely: 1) The equivalent to the caliper would be if a magazine that gives you 100 points at once and is 100 times more seldom to find. Now it is easy to see that that creates a situation where you just can't find the one magazine. While the bell curve of probability makes it much more unlikely to go far from the average case when the magazines drop a 100 times more often. 2) In A15 there was only one way to find a caliper, in loot. In recent alphas you always have multiple ways to get stuff, including magazines. If you can't find them in loot then visit all the traders to increase your chances. And luckily it seems location-dependant loot makes a comeback in A21 so there is another way to influence the chance what to find
  5. Which actually gives players a better chance to influence the game. Because Activision will do anything which improves the sales (including changing the game in ways that would compromise the devs vision). This means you won't get the very lucrative in-game shops removed, but if the community wanted pink uniforms they would find listeners in management 😁 I doubt we have the same criteria how to measure a games quality. Sorry, but that is wishful thinking on your part. There is no widespread support for that. Show me a post of yours demanding underage zombies with at least 3 likes or approving comments. Show me 3 other people asking for that in the last year (use the search function and you should find them if they exist). They surely don't want to make a DLC that is only available in some countries but not others. There won't be enough additional sales because of the existence of underage zombies in this DLC that would outweigh the lost sales in countries that won't allow it. If someone from TFP had said something like "we really want to, but ..." the idea might still have a minimal chance, but TFP have never shown any desire for touching that hot potato.
  6. Since the stuff found through looting and the skillbooks for crafting will drop slower by the same measure I suspect crafting will still be balanced with looting I'd say it is the oven because I think I remember Madmole mentioning that once.
  7. If thousands of players complain about the same thing, they can sometimes accomplish change. But they have to complain about the same thing and it should not seriously conflict with what the game developers want. Because of the zombie mod CoD Black Ops 3 is actually on my wanted list (for games to buy at budget). Not sure whether it was for humor or for a good story. "Probably not"? Make that "Surely not". If most of the people here in the forum were of the same opinion you might have a chance to achieve something (like change the number of inventory slots, not change the whole direction of the game). But you have nearly zero support with your opinion as far as I can tell here on the forum. Maybe start to look for realistic goals, i.e. stuff where lots of people give you likes and support your opinion.
  8. There surely is a sizable group of people who can't use mods now for 7D2D (even if explained step by step) and an even smaller group that will not be able to use mods once 7D2D has steam workshop included. If you belong to that last group then I can only say "s*** happens but that is life". There are people who can't use elevators because of feat of closed spaces. There are people with mental deficiences so strong they can't drive a car. There are blind people who can't drive a car. Should I stop calling a car to be a solution for getting from a to b because there are some blind people? If I don't like the seriousness of CoD I don't play it or play a mod that changes it to something fun for me. I decided to simply not play CoD. You seem to expect a third way, that TFP change their game to some other game they do not want to do just for you. Try to change CoD first by posting in their forum, then come back 😁 EDIT: Oh, right. You can use mods, but you don't want to because the quality is lower in your opinion. Well, if people are very picky then it is quite normal that they often don't get what they want. Another fact of life.
  9. To add to that, everyone should be pleased: Haters of LBD have vanilla and mods, lovers of LBD as well have multiple excellent mods to play. Yes. Since you get xp for many activities and can get better with xp LBD was never gone in the strict sense.
  10. I'll bet that won't be possible. Internally they will just store the number of magazines you read and compare that to fixed numbers to know what you can craft. So they won't be able to let you craft something out of the order, it can't be represented internally. And that means the inventor skill would just add a random number of points to some magazine skill. I.e. it would be equivalent to a general bonus of magazine finding, much less cool. Yes. No LBD through the backdoor. 😃
  11. The default server-script to launch the game accepts additional parameters as well. I tried it just now with startserver.sh -configfile=serverconfig.xml -nogs and I see the following lines in the logfile twice: WRN [GSM] GameSparks Not Initialized... Whether your server management software allows you to add parameters is on a different page. Maybe your server guys don't want to do special settings and tell you it can't be done. There is a reason I switched from a game server provider to a bare metal server provider 😎
  12. @ everyone: If you have problems post them in "General Support", and add a relevant logfile (there is a pinned thread explaining details).
  13. That would be a multi-year project alone and the game is supposed to be released as soon as possible (which probably still means more than a year). AFAIK there were never plans to make this into a full-fledged openworld RPG, I have heard Roland warn us multiple times about not expecting too much with the story.
  14. All that the launcher does is add a parameter "-nogs" to the command line when it launches the exe (on windows it might be "/nogs" instead). You can do that as well. If I start the client without that parameter I get lines in the logfile "[GSM] GameSparks Connected", if I add the parameter I get no such line.
  15. Interesting new system. I love getting a new game with each alpha 😃
  16. Please first translate your message to english (deepl or google translate help you with this). This site is english-only.
  17. Sadly the drone is part of the player data which means it can only trivially removed if you also delete the player. Whether the devs are aware of the bug depends on how the bug was triggered, your current broken drone data is probably only the aftermath of triggering the bug (just like the Nullreference exceptions are often just the results of a bug that breaks world data) Do you know exactly when and how the drone went from good to bad? If yes (and especially if you can recreate it in a fresh and unmodded game) then a bug report would surely help.
  18. "needed fixing" no, because there was no bug that was fixed. "needed" yes, because the change is necessary to conform to rules outside of funpimps control.
  19. I was not explaining how the zombies got in there! I was just telling you how getting out can be explained. I'll also won't explain how you with a stone axe or the zombies can crack steel or you can lift a few 1000 tons or anything else. There is a difference between theory and experiment. We talked about the theory already for 3 pages, I could have made that list above myself. You posted a video to show the reality but it doesn't tell us much besides that 4/5 stealth in a lit corridor and very close to zombies is not enough (which just puts a number on something we already know). It doesn't say anything about the questions that seem more interesting (to me) PS: But I see you rectified this later with actual experiments. Thanks for that Are you saying that if you throw a stone when they try to approach your last known location with ApproachSpot, they will investigate the stone but afterwards go back to the same last know location they initially approached? (Or is the second ApproachSpot somewhere else?) If that is true it seems somehow different from my experiments in A19. When I threw a stone and the zombie went to the stone it would stay there afterwards and listened again.
  20. Can be explained if needed: If their hiding place is lower than their height and they sit there until waking up then just standing up will put a lot more pressure on their foothold than their weight alone. We know Zombies are strong. Even if their hiding place has room above they just need to attack their foothold with the same zeal they cut through concrete and steal and it surely will be gone in one hit
  21. When I play AGI/stealth I consider myself a lightly armored guy who's greatest strengths are speed and stealth. So unless I think I can handle them right there with bow, knife or silenced gun I will strategically withdraw (or in other words run or slither away like a coward). Ok, sometimes I will draw the big guns too, especially if I don't expect to draw more zombies by loud shooting. But my reply to theFlu was more about the fact that the video doesn't really give me more information, at least not the info I'm most interested in
  22. Once there are bandits in the game the player will get the chance to join one of two factions and remove the other (or both). That is the planned endgame as far as I know.
  23. Sadly this doesn't show whether they would have zeroed in on Kage or just stumbled to his last location if he sneaked back. He immediately left stealth and attacked them And please notice the light level. Whether it is a good change can be argued but sneaking in daylight or a well lit corridor is a lot harder and actually more realistic than before. I don't care about realism, but when you say silly, how silly would it be if those zombies did not see the player in this small and illuminated corridor?
  24. Are you talking here about the volume trigger or the continuous detection done by "active" zombies as well? If it is only about the volume trigger, thats okay. Once active the zombies will be scanning for noise in their normal routine
  25. Have a very small room with only 1 or 2 zombies and them ALL waking up means just those 1 or 2, nothing extraordinary.
