  1. That blows. But they ARE already in the game. just sayin…
  2. Changed the title of this thread to show it is the 1.0 overflow thread. I don't want anyone to think their very important posts about tomatoes and such are residing in some Alpha trash thread.
  3. Yes but you must never look at a deer unless there is a vulture lined up perfectly between you.
  4. That cowboy hat is one of the new paid DLC costumes. KIDDING!!!
  5. of course they aren’t likely to update to any new Unity version which would push them into the new pricing plan. Unless….maybe THATS the reason for the price increase….
  6. Just wanted to point out that if they had gone on with the alpha numbering we wouldn't have gotten bandits until Alpha 23 anyway which would have been....next year. There really isn't any change other than for the first time ever a publicly released roadmap with dates paired with features.
  7. There's no guarantee that it will go to Gamepass immediately. But, yes, the legacy console version will be leaving and will be delisted and no longer able to be purchased. Those who also play the PC version through Gamepass will no longer be able to play once it leaves. WIth the new pricing once 1.0 releases PC players at the least should plan to pick it up this week during the sale.
  8. Be careful not to fall into the trap of judging 1.0 by A21. Any adjustments and balancing changes to current (A21) systems have been held to be released in the next big update which will be 1.0 and we haven't seen them yet. Ultimately, A21 will be a dead-end build on the steam beta list that anyone who dislikes 1.0 will go back to and play...heheh. It is not representative of 1.0. Once the experimental build for 1.0 is released you can make your own judgements but the dev team has definitely made adjustments based on customer feedback over the past year. That's not to say that if you hate the magazine system you will suddenly love it and you are correct that it is here to stay.
  9. Thanks for your opinion. As long as you understand that it is just an opinion and that there isn’t anything objectively wrong with it I’m okay with that. For me, as long as the footprint of the transaction remains on the Steam store and doesn’t enter the game itself I won’t be bothered. I don’t want to see a set for sale at the trader that I can’t select unless I pay real money. But if it’s just a list of DLCs to scroll through on the Steam store page for the game I’ll likely never look at them. Besides, this is TFP so the outfits are likely to be over the top funny things like the nerd set. There will probably be a Pimp Set or knowing Madmole: an Arnold Set or Thor Set. Easy pass…lol
  10. If they had released what they had back in 2017 then you’d be getting a lot less of the features listed on the roadmap and what we have today would be 7 Days to Die 2 which would have cost you quite a bit more than getting it all for what you originally paid plus the option to buy extra outfits. If you’re bent out of shape over this list of features they shifted to post launch most of which will still be free, then how can you say you’d much prefer to have 1.0 seven years ago and then pay full game price for what we have now? Hey, ask the console players how they feel about that….
  11. No word yet on that. We need to let the arguing about the roadmap settle a bit before we start the argument over streamer weekend…heheh.
  12. We are getting a good variety of outfits for 1.0. It’s not like they are giving us just one light, one medium, and one heavy armor outfit and then we have to pay for more. Without ever paying an extra dime you’ll have a great variety to play with that give a divers mix of bonuses. Modders will also probably be able to take existing outfits and duplicate them with additional bonuses for even more variety. It’s only if you care about the cosmetic appearance that you’ll feel a need to buy extra outfits. Mentioning reputation isn’t a spoiler. It’s listed on the roadmap they just released and they’ve talked about it many times in the past. I said there’s been work done on it. That’s all.
  13. In the original Kickstarter roadmap they listed smooth terrain as a feature that would come after 1.0 launch. Personally I’m glad they shifted their timeline on that and got it done sooner. If that means a different feature such as bandits needed to then be pushed back it doesn’t bother me. There were always going to be features that would be added after 1.0. This is first and foremost a zombie survival game. So, imo, as long as the game has zombies to survive against it’s fine for 1.0. Already there are people who mod out traders because they only want zombies. Already people have asked if there will be an option to disable bandits because they only want zombies. I don’t agree with those people but it does seem to indicate that bandits aren’t seen as an essential feature of a zombie survival game by everyone. I do want bandits but I definitely can see them as a late game expansionary feature beyond the scope of a basic zombie game.
  14. In the first statement you seem to be really dismissive of reworking systems iteratively as distractions from not doing any real work. In your next post you argue that alpha is precisely for redoing systems and they should have added bandits and redone them many times as needed and nobody would blink an eye. So which is it? You criticize them for redoing systems but then state that’s what alphas are for and so they should have added bandits. For what it’s worth “bandits” aren’t even a system. They are just new enemy types. The systems for bandits would be AI, animations, spawning, reputation, etc which are all systems TFP has been working on. A22 will introduce the animations that you view in other characters such as being able to see them load a gun when they load a gun, move in a crouched position or flat out run among other things. For now these animations will make playing with friends better but it will also make bandits move and animate realistically. For the record, I also wish bandits had made it in for 1.0. But I don’t see them as a critical piece of a zombie survival game. The game has zombies to fight for 1.0 and as long as the quality of that is up to 1.0 standards I think it’s fine to add a new enemy type beyond zombies after 1.0.
  15. faatal also posted on this forum over a year ago some of the AI work specifically for bandits he was working on such as retreating, taking cover, and flanking. In addition, perceptive people will see how the outfits and 3rd person view animations for characters are also groundwork for adding bandits. We’ve also seen bandit models posted on social media. it’s pretty silly to claim that they haven’t been working on bandits or that they are only going to start work after 1.0. Exactly.
  16. It was created in his spare time so he could pitch it to the team but after it was accepted and integrated, from that time forth work on it counts as work on the game. Lathan hasn't spent the last couple years only working on it in his spare time. It should also be noted that Twitch integration will also directly lead to the event system mentioned in the roadmap for Q2 2025 so it isn't a feature that was designed solely to appeal to a narrow margin of players who utilize Twitch. Eventually it will enhance random events that help the world feel more alive for all players.
  17. The roadmap is the first reveal and you're the first to bring it up! Pimp of the Day!!! D'oh! I spoke too soon!
  18. Thank goodness we'll never see an "Eleven Years in Alpha!" post....
  19. The PAX-East build was a special demo build from which they removed a few unfinished features that weren't ready to be shown. There are new blood effects and as screenshots show they have been extending dismemberment and gore effects to all the zombies that don't have them in A21 but they were not in the demo version because they were not in a good enough state in time for the show.
  20. I asked for specific features that got simplified and lost depth due to console accommodations. You said you can but then instead gave me an update version number. So I’m still asking.
  21. I don't see that happening in very many cases if at all. Consoles are going to be limited to 8k maps but PC isn't getting shoehorned into the same limitation. There are going to be some forced configuration settings on console that PC will still be able to toggle and adjust. Console will start out as person to person 4-player max for multiplayer while PC will continue to support dedicated servers and up to 8 players. The plan is to eventually get console to support dedicated server play and allow for 8 players as well. There is no plan to shoehorn the PC game down to only person to person and 4-players max. Can you give some examples of the type of richness and complexity loss you believe have been done to accommodate consoles?
  22. I was responding the the thread in general. Without needing to mod you can just use the supply drop event as “the dinner bell” to go and do a quest. Otherwise maybe you could mod the trader to only open when the supply plane drops its load and then close 24 hrs later.
  23. You can also choose to only use the trader on horde night days or on airdrop days. Ignoring the trader completely and spamming quests daily are two choices but they aren't the only choices.
