  1. Losing that last zombie in a huge POI makes tier 5 Clears very very problematic. Always has. Unless you are prepared to use the console command to kill everything in the area, I would avoid such quests.
  2. I actually increased the spawn rate and number of zombies in all biomes, including Wasteland and am loving it. Sue me.
  3. It's been like this as far back as A14 that I can remember. A bit of an exploit really, since you can cheese several hordes per blood moon. That's a LOT of experience and loot bags!
  4. Vehicle sounds disappear for passengers: check Parked vehicles move around on their own at random: check Parked vehicles start appearing either buried in the ground where they were parked, or waaaay up in the air above where they were parked, floating majestically: check These bugs I remember for many alphas, and are still very present and happening very very often. At least once per (real time) hour, and much more frequently once you start using Gyrocopters. Though ironically it is not the Gyros that exhibit the problem but the vehicles you left on the ground when using your Gyro. Come on TFP, fix this. We are having to lift our vehicles all the time and keep them on us when not using them, rendering their storage useless.
  5. Cornbread is used as an ingredient for other recipes (like Chilli Dog) and is not for eating unless you're desperate.
  6. For the last 3 horde nights, towards the end of the main horde... all of a sudden my "vision" goes all blurry, very similar to the effect you get if you drink beer or get concussed. Once this kicks in, it lasts till the horde ends, then my vision returns to normal. I have no adverse buffs showing while this is happening, only a Recog buff and the buffs from my Drone are showing. Very annoying. I am the host for a 2 player co-op server. This effect does not occur at any other time, only middle of horde night. Any help?
  7. You should always live in a simple box base on very very flat ground (no hills) and not very near any POIs (I like at least 100m away from nearest POI). And do not make any mines near it either (found that out the hard way). This way you will never have tunnelling weirdness from the zombies. They will come at you over the flat surface every time. You can make you horde-killer base anywhere else.
  8. I have. It's garbage. Do not waste points on this skill. Farming is dead in A20. Plant any seeds you find and that's it.
  9. I love this. We did indeed find this happening as soon as we got out first Auger going. On one occasion, I had a Screamer scream right at the top if my mine (by which I mean big hole in the ground) and she and everything she summoned fell in beside me. This included 2 other Screamers. I died. But since this mine was right beside our live-in base, we had to deal with it. Any time one of us walked anywhere near that mine all those Screamers down there went off (whatever happened to them needing line of sight to scream?????) and the surrounding area was soon full of 20+ zombies, including more Screamers and multiple Ferals and Rads. Massive surface battle ensued. This happened every time we went near the mine to try to clear it. In the end we had to stand on elevated blocks nearby and throw tons of grenades into the mine from afar to kill them off with setting them off. I find this awesome. But then we also modded spawning.xml so we have tons of zombies in all biomes all the time, with very short respawn times. We like lots of zombies. Basically if someone is mining with an Auger, you need to have a guard stand by on the surface to prevent this kind of thing. I look at this as the price of using the Auger. If you are playing solo, then basically the moment you hear a Screamer (you get lots of warning), then get OUT your mine immediately and deal with it. We are running 6 Forges, 2 Chem Stations and 2 Cement Mixers more or less 24/7. We get lots of Screamers (I'd say 10+ per night on a 90 minute day cycle), but our live-in base kills them on its own with no action from us, so we ignore them. And for the record we live in a 10 x 10 x 5 Concrete box with solid walls (no windows or slits) and a nearby ramp to jump in the top. This is surrounded by 3 rows of Iron Spikes. Very very simple, but more than sufficient to kill anything wandering by, including Screamers, and they do not scream because they cannot see us. Our main horde-killer base is elsewhere.
  10. Well there are 3 of us on my server, so we need 6 wheels for initial transport (3 bikes or minibikes) and 5 Acid and a Beaker for a Chem station. You'd normally expect all those things well before day 13.
  11. Bah. We need many more Screamers and many more zombies in the world. This is a zombie apocalypse and all the zombies are hiding in cupboards.
  12. I add +3 to +5 to all zombie counts in spawning.xml and also greatly reduce the respawn times. I want zombies all over all the time when outside. I also increase all vehicle speeds except the Bicycle a little, especially the Gyro (we set max velocity 20), and make the Motorcycle faster than the 4x4
  13. I feel it is a "must have on" setting. There are so few zombies in the world that it makes little difference anyway. And since I mentioned that, can anyone remind me which xml config file has the settings to increase the zombie count in the wild and change their respawn time? I need at least 5x more zombies than there are, with about 0.3 day respawn or less. I remember setting this in A18 but it was so long ago. Feral Sense might actually mean something if there were actually any zombies in this zombie apocalypse. Thanks. So very true.
  14. Seems it would make a lot of sense to add a recipe to make Beakers. I mean if we can make jars....somewhere around Physician 3 sound right to me. And Acid just needs to drop more. For the record, the one Acid we found thus far was in a mound of garbage lying outside a POI. Where did you all get yours?
  15. Acid is the nightmare. I am tasked with making Bicycles for 3 players. Even with all of us looting three little towns near the base really hard, we have found only 1 Acid + 1 Tyre total. It's day 9. This is unacceptable. I have been able to craft Chem Stations and Bikes for days and this has brick-walled us completely as everything in walking distance is looted. Sewing Kits have been reasonably abundant though.
  16. Well this is weird. There are (as usual) so few zombies in the world that I am not even bothering to cower in a base at night in A20, other than night #1. A few zombies and a wolf wandered past, fought each other, then the remaining zombies attacked my house to no avail for the rest of the night). Since then, I am hopping outside at night and just digging clay or mining without a care in the world. Day 9 now. Feral Sense is at All, and difficulty is default + 2 (forget what it's called). I haven't felt any increased difficulty beyond a cop on day 2 which I just avoided. In fact this is smoothest start to any alpha in terms of the skills I've needed and how frequently I get them. Also worth mentioning, my day 9 (concrete box) base is running 4 Forges all night and is surrounded on its outer walls with 12 Torches (3 per side, as I have always done). And my base is rarely attacked by anything (as usual). I've heard a couple of Screamers but I just ignore them if I can and let them die on my spikes.
  17. OK I have started several runs now, testing everything I can in A20. My main complaint so far is that it is far too easy to pick up a crippling debuff (like leg breaks, concussion, sprain, infection and so fourth) from combat. Seems almost every bad run in with a Zombie will give you one or more of these. I even fell into a pit "trap" in a POI with 3 Zeds in it and came away with FIVE debuffs. Infection specifically is far too easily applied. It used to be you'd almost never get infected early on, except from a Vulture. I think in my first half dozen test runs (on various difficulties) I ended up infected by end of day 1. Infection is almost always a death sentence early game, unless you get lucky with Tree stumps. It feels too much. Crap wrong forum. Can this be moved to general?
  18. You can only have a single input to the last item in the chain. However how can Gen -> Trip -> Trip -> Door work? If only one of the Trips is thrown, the circuit would not be complete?
  19. I've never used the same name, as these saves are still both active. The names are similar though; differing only in a number suffix.
  20. Very much, since they seem to have 1500 hp, it's day 1 and I have a Stone Axe. I really cannot believe they chose this approach in a voxel game that is all about building and placing blocks. What's wrong with simple textures?
  21. Aha. I see what I did wrong. My bad. Sorry. Quite funny though.
  22. I'm confused. You said you had a mission that gives the schematic.
  23. Don't know, but if you say you have a mission that awards you the drone schematic, then I'd complete that mission and then use the schematic and craft it?
