So I'm confused. Is EVERY firearm going to have primitive (pistol, rifle, assault rifle, machine gun and shotgun ) ? What is that sweet entry about the baton having another primitive model ?
I think one point to all weapons having a prim version is so you can start using all ammo types sooner then later.
The baton is probably for the new marching band outfit...🤣

I see, thanks everyone, I'm gonna try out the game then
Lots of videos out there for different builds/playstyles. The great news is you can tweak many different settings (or even mod) to play the game the way that you prefer. For example, the horde that attacks the player on day 7 can be tweaked to come later or turned off all together. You can even tweak the day/night hours cycle settings to match the pace that you prefer.
Those that like things more survival and tense, will ramp up the difficulty. (e.g. zombies always run, quicker days, etc.) Those that want more of a relaxed romero / TWD style gameplay can also find settings that work for them. (e.g. no running zombies)

Did they remove the bomb shelter PoI from RWG? Day 22 in my game (a19.2) and I've discovered half a dozen towns, but this PoI is not to be found anywhere.
Your picture is not opening. Last RWG map I played I built a base in the old bomb shelter POI that is underneath a small garage.

If my subscribers write me their observations, can I post it here on my own behalf?
Edit: It just seems to me that Russian-speaking users will not register and translate their messages, and I can't reproduce this problem myself.
I don't see why not. It may help isolate the problem further.

Hello Folks,
There is one theory that one variable to this issue is systems running out of memory (e.g. memory leak). The next time the issue occurs, please check what your systems current memory usage in both your Windows Task Manager > Performance Tab and in your game console. (Press F1) If you stand still you should see the following line appear in your console. The last part shows your memory currently in use. The most I could get mine to go up was 10GB / 16GB and have not been able to reproduce the issue.

Post in here or PM me your observations. Thank you all.

@faatal , since Robert isn't here to answer, do you know if the RWG has a target RAM consumption for a20 ? The news are that you guys are ditching the 4k maps. I have mixed feelings for various reasons:
In 4k maps, the RAM RSS feed currently stands at 3800 Mb to ... 6000-6200 MB !! after around 5 (quest days/build nights) hour sessions SINGLE PLAYER. That means multiplayer can easily double after just 4-5 hours resulting in 12000+MB memory RSS feed and square and texture artifacts everywhere at virtually any time (artifacts start to happen when the dedicated memory is filled and system RAM juggles too much).
My concern is that if we are going to get 6k maps minimum, how is that going to fare for us lads with peanut butter Pcs? At the moment I'm standing in the "just ok" rope with 4k maps consuming said 3,8 gigs to 6,2gigs after 5 or 6 hours.
Do you have any insight on this subject ? Are 6k maps gonna have a stable 4 gigs of RSS most of the time or are they expectedly going to hit the 8 gig mark as Navezgane is currently doing ? Senior programmers have a throne in Westeros from where they can overlook such things, right? I'm sure of it.
Salutations.
Not hard to reproduce. When dedicated memory is filled and RAM is also topping or juggling too much, it happens 100% of the time. Moving fast through the map (no need to God mode) also results in that, but again, memory HAS to be filled.
Thats a good theory. Do you have any solid vanilla repros to fill up memory? Maybe a memory leak somewhere making the POI issue happen more frequently.
Post the info. In the bug forum and I'll look it over. Thanks.

Certainly is, the original post and download links have been updated this morning.
Hi Slaan, welcome back... Good to see you playing 7d2d again and doing some prefabbing. Lots of new blocks to play with as well as in-game prefab editor improvements.
Also, if you were not already aware, you can use the "Block replacement" tool as an alternative to the K menu since it was disabled in normal play.

No. Wasn't the iron man. This was my horde every night play through. And it's seriously annoying that 7 hours into the game and still no duct tape.
Ah your playing horde every night...
Haven't checked the XMLs lately to see what loot containers have the best chance but would have to guess trash containers.
Also, there are quite a number of youtubers (e.g. Glock9) who play horde every night. Perhaps check some of their vids out for some tips and tricks.

Level 30 by day 7? What xp / day settings are you using? Your level/gamestage is making it more difficult for you.

Thanks! It's taken ages to build, even in creative, because we have a crypt and a cremation area underground 😅
I love it, it looks great. What are those terrain pillars? Reminds me of an old RWG generation issue.

My son and I made a POI that works really well with the buggy and dirt bike. We've had a blast playing with it. It has several alternating paths when hooked up to electricity to the motion sensors which run the drawbridges and vault doors, which are used to trigger blocks/alternate paths for a short time. It forces you to use different legs of the track. We recently just added new POI lighting for night racing as well.
Thats sorta neat. Like a mario kart type race track. Nice idea.

Thanks will look into that.
Here is a video from Slaan on how to do it via console command a few alphas ago.

You might be able to manually create the mesh the old fashion way (substitute another block) using the console commands instead of the "update" imposter button in the in-game prefab editor. I haven't tried it in a long time though so no sure if it still works. Have to look up the console commands as I don't remember what they were.

This gets me wrecked more often than anything. They run off, I continue doing what I was doing and forget they come back.
Me too, if anything, they might be gone alittle too long which lul's you into a false sense of security. Which is a good/bad thing depending on who you ask LOL....

Its the apocalypse. Food is scare. I bet most wolves would attack people if they were starving. Its not too much of a stretch.
Biome Vultures already have the behavior your talking about (wont attack you until wounded) so not sure there needs to be another animal with the same behavior.
As a side note wolves actually do run away when hurt and come back later.

@gpcstargate, are you familiar on how to export things to a prefab? If so, it would help narrow down things if you can do that for the base you have in your video and then provide a link here for us to download/test it.
If you are unfamiliar with how to export a base to a prefab this video should help. (8:55 minute mark)

@Liesel Weppen The point, is where do they suddenly come from? I recently wrenched all the cars around higashi tower. No Z showed up. As soon as i started using the wrench inside they were starting to come.
It´s like they hide all the time you are outside and only come out when you are inside.
Another easy way to check is to enable debug mode and detach camara and fly around outside like in my video.
You can even press numpad 0 which will turn on an info panel above any nearby zombie and what they are targeting.
As far as the wasteland is concerned, the respawn delay there is shorter then anywhere else. At night its instantaneous. If the biome spawns are coming into the POI its probably because your making too much noise.

A mod creator I know actually tested this, he cleared out around a ranger tower and inside the tower with a killall console command, which kills every zombie in the chunk/maybe the world. he then sat in the center of the top floor of the ranger poi, doing nothing, and just watched. a min or 2 later, zombies started spawning that beelined it right to him even though he was crouched, not moving and not making a sound, it was not a wandering horde either as those usually show in the console as such, it was at night so he could clearly see they were deliberatly heading to the poi he was in on spawn, and some of these spawned 40+ blocks away from the poi he was in.
FYI, the killall command doesn't count as a kill so those zombies will respawn immediately and not trigger the defined respawn delay in that given area.

Wich is a poor and hopefully just temporary solution. Cities and towns are empty and it feels weird if you enter a POI and suddenly it is like there was a zombie at every corner.
The world needs more zombies. It´s a confession of failure if you have to reduce the number of zombies so hard that you feel like traveling trough an empty world in a game that is about a zombie apokalypse. I really hope this is just temporary and that optimizing the game will help here.
It is like that in vanilla very ofthen also @Laz Man No Z to spot on the way to a quest. Even doing a quick look around the POI and the neighbour houses, no zombie in sight. I enter and after a short while someone bangs on the outside.
If you have a POI/Biome in mind let me know as I just tested this and no GPS zombies (Vanilla).
Test Case: house_old_ranch_10 / Forest Biome / Navezgane SP / A19.1 B8.
I entered the POI and didn't even bother clearing the biome spawns around the house and still no GPS behavior that I could see. See video below.
-
What mods are you using to up the biome spawns?
This doesn't happen in vanilla AFAIK but can check.
A good test scenario is to pick a specific biome and POI to test the suspicion.

1st time hearing this but if it works for others this may help us narrow down the issue further. If anyone here are experiencing the problem, try this workaround and report back your results here or pm me please. Thank you.
Instead of exiting to the main menu only try exiting the game completely. I have see some cases where exiting to main menu > continuing doesn't fully release all memory being used.
P.S. Thats a nice church POI...😅
