  1. I am VERY glad that you bring up this discussion. The weapon station was something I thought long and hard about and it only remains in the game right now in my mod because it gives people something to do at end game which is to assemble the perfect guns.

     

    MY preference has always been to scavenge the parts and combine to make the perfect gun. I added the station months ago before the mod was considered for public release and it kind of just stuck around. It does make things a bit easier in the end game. At one point we had completely removed the combine feature in place of the weapon station so you HAD to make parts along the way. We brought combine back after some did not like the change.

     

    For me i dislike both. I think the combine feature DOES give you something to do in a way but it also takes away from the scavenging aspect. I always try to promote scavenging over full on crafting. Will the weapon station remain? I am unsure because it has been so near being cut before. If it feels detrimental to the goal of the mod I will remove it.

     

    We had this same issue on our server. A few players would get together on server wipes and max out different skills and when we had new players they would offer tools and weapons. I know they were only trying to help but those players who were given greater tools would eventually leave because they ran out of things to do eventually. The only real way to stop that is to not allow recipes to unlock until say level 100 but even then people can get others to craft or repair things for them.

     

    I want the mod to remain challenging AND fun, and that can be a tough thing to balance. But yes, gun parts crafting is VERY near the chopping block since it is not available in vanilla anyway and giving that kind of access to players seems to be removing some challenge.

    I have spent the last 2 months looking into how to balance the game and keep players on the server and having fun, all mods that let you level up quickly with things like survivor notes etc are a good idea but don't help. The quicker players level up the quicker they get bored. Don't give players everything. Let them obtain it by playing. I went as far as to make concrete mix unsellable to traders.

     

    I vote for it to be removed, chopped. :)

  2. Hi Jax, Just got my Linux server working with your mod, havent played much to be honest! really looking forward to it!

     

    i did have a look through some items etc and the one thing that stood out ALOT, the whole "-All weapon parts craftable with the Weapon Station" that there literally takes away a reason to continue to scavenge for parts, it makes the game alot easier, almost to a point that players will max their weapons quickly, get bored, etc etc

     

    Something i wish the fun pimps would do is make items need players to be a certain level to use the item, on my server level 200 player gives a new player level 600 tools, weapons and armor thinking they helping, but then the player has nothing to play for and gets bored quicker, would you be able to apply something like this on your mod?

    Your welcome. You sure because it's the same in SP. Is there a way to check it? Point me in the right direction and double check it. :)

  4. Hi dwallorde. If the fishing is broken because of the water in A16 I suggest removing it. Also the augers are OP. you can level up extremely quickly in a few minutes. I suggest lowering the exp gained. Iv had a few players hit level cap in a few days of playing. Also the zombie reach seems very far, not sure if you aware of that.

  5. Hello all, Im having an issue on my server using the EAC friendly version with the fishing, when ever a player tries to go fishing they get spammed errors and have to relog. Any help fixing it would be appreciated :)

  6. Hi Dwallorde. I don't know if you aware of this, but on my server when ever a player dies their crosshair dissappears, is there a way I can fix this? They keep having to relog to fix it. Thanks in advance

  7. Hi,

     

    Have a look in xui.xml, there is a vehicle section there. If you comment the SMX changes and uncomment the standard changes that will be one step on the way.

     

    Then check loot.xml and change the mini bike basket from the SMX changes back to the standard code.

     

    I don’t have the files in front of me right now but if I remember correctly those are the steps you need to take.

     

    Thanks. Is the lag fix only in the non EAC friendly version? If so any way to get a lag fix for EAC friendly servers? :D

  10. Sorry for the trouble. Let's get you sorted out.

     

    Let's start off with True Survival Mod.

     

    Click on the True Survival Mod, and click on the Play button

    When you've confirmed that it's still vanilla, close the game, and go back to the Mod Launcher

    Click on the View menu, then go to Log Files.

    You'll see a screen with two drop down boxes.

    Select one, and click on Upload Log file, and give me the pastebin.com link.

    Select the other log from the drop down box, and click on the Upload Log file, and give me the pastebin link.

    Press Enter.

     

    Uncheck EAC and install (might take a long time the first time)

     

    In the Mod description in the Launcher you will find the current Server Password. Click on "show more information" to see the current sever password. The Server Password will change whenever the clients need refreshing.

     

    After starting game the ip and port will be automatically populated.

     

    Hey Spider, I downloaded the launcher and updated the mod launcher, Its say True Survival A16.2, Installed the mod, ran the game and the welcome screen is the True Survival but everything else is vanilla :( am i missing something? I checked the items xml etc they are all still vanilla.

  12. Steam id is definitely in correctly. I removed it and then added it again. It was working fine in A16.1 think I was using server tools 3.7. I used the same ping immunity xml file

  13. Hello there :) LOVE these tools!! I have 1 small problem tho, i have set the ping kicker and a player i have on the immunity list keeps getting kicked, any thing i can do to stop that happening?

    Hi guys is there a way to create a command to allow players to spawn zombies around them to give them a better horde at horde night?
