  1. Yeah, the knife is really great in the harder difficulties... seems like it still does full bleed damage. Although on the hardest mode with everything maxed out, the best base is probably not to have one, lel. At that point you are either wasting all your time farming resources or you are abusing the zombie ai in some way. I do still make and use a base for like a week or so, until I do not need it anymore, cause horde every night.
  2. Well obviously the top priority in alpha 20 should be toilet update. I am sure you are already working on it and it is the real reason for improved water. Listen, these vets want a REAL challenge and real SURVIVAL elements that allow the game to be their job... so you must make it so that players spend 50% of their game time using the toilet, at the very least. Pee pee poo poo is serious business and should be taken seriously. Proper toilets are the foundation of life and without it your society is exploded by bombs, just like in the fall of Rome, when their toilets stopped flushing and then bombs hit them and Joan of Arc died of radiation poisoning.
  3. Corn was thought of as only being animal feed back in the old country. Which brings the obvious questions, why can I not make popcorn, and then cover it with honey and candy it?! 0/10 game!!@!
  4. So I decided to try a Serious Sam styled agility/fortitude build and bumped the game up to insane, always nightmare, 32 zombies and horde every night, lel. It is actually a lot of fun. I do not really care about playing on the hardest settings or anything, I just thought having really fast zombies might be more fun and decided to try insane difficulty zombies along with it. They are really not THAT much more spongy, and your chance to randomly decapitate them means a lot more. It also makes me think that in this mode maybe the shorter time for a zombie to forget about with from the shadows might actually have some value. I am still not getting it though lel, parkour and knife ftw. I might remake my str/intl build on this difficulty... I need a new world anyway. KK, I am done using this forum as my personal twitter for the moment.
  5. You sure? I thought in an earlier version they said they made you run faster, and I figured it was just worded wonky on them now. It seemed like I was running faster. When I was playing with my friend and finally got them I was almost able to keep up with my friend on his bike, going through the grass instead of the road, and I was not super far behind him just straight up following. Maybe not though, I will test it later when I can play. EDIT: Yeah, I tested it and it seems like you are right.
  6. Yeah, that is what I figured. I was still testing out turrets and crap and it took so long to find some of the stuff I did not feel like restarting unless I was doing different settings, heh. I still have not found the steel tools schematic and I am level 87. Anyone know if the player can outrun zombies at the nightmare run speed setting with the advanced running shoes and the athletic jacket on?
  7. I found some bug where I can scrap a quality 1 robotic sledge and it gives me some error, does not destroy the sledge, but still gives me 3 parts. I can do it over and over as much as I want. Not sure where to report it if it is not a known issue. My world is a random gen world that was from like 1 or 2 builds before stable though, and I did have someone join my world once. I am also thinking about trying a serious sam style parkour agility/fortitude build. I might max out the difficulty, run speed and make horde every night. If I find the advanced running shoes and the athletic jacket and get the 20% +10% run speed buff, however they stack... will I be faster than the max run speed(max setting) of the zombies?
  8. It does not really have anything to do with stealth being underpowered. Depending on the POI and how you do it, stealth is probably overpowered. It is more about "from the shadows" being irrelevant to playing stealth. Sleepers and scripted aggro do not care about your from the shadows skill and you can do the same thing with a loud shotgun, which is probably more of a problem with stealth mechanics in general.
  9. I have had a few issues with the overhangs on my small bases. I usually come out like 4 blocks, and I have noticed when I upgrade them with concrete, and then leave the area when they are drying, I come back and it is completely gone. It almost seems like the blocks are losing stability in the transition to dry concrete if you are a ways away from them. I will post a picture and the wood in it is the area that breaks off, and the area it is connected to is 1 block of plate overhang. It can probably be repeated by just making a structure like that, upgrading to wet concrete and then leaving the area for a few minutes and coming back.
  10. You are fine. Just jump out, refill it and jump back in really really quickly.
  11. Thanks. If those are the only ones that have it, my world only has 1 POI for a potential Taza's stone axe, which is the indian burial grounds, lel. I guess I should give up.
  12. Seriously though, anyone know if Apache artifact chests that contain Taza's stone axe exist in random generated worlds? I know they used to be. I spent like a full day going through my desert area and I did not see anything that looked like the native american monument thing or the caves they used to be in. I do not mind wasting a lot of time looking for it, but it would be cool if someone could look and see if they actually spawn, so that I do not waste my play time looking for something that does not exist, heh.
  13. I still do not have it on day 75, and I have been visiting like 4 or 5 traders on reset and double dipping secret stash. I do have almost every other book though, lol. First I missed the loot stage to get a quality 6 stone axe, then I can't find the steel school schematic, or a Q5-6 steel pickaxe. Anyone know what POIs give the unique stone axe in the desert on random gen, or if it exists in random gen?... I spent a day and night looking around in my desert area and didn't really see old cave or native american monument things that used to give them.
  14. Yeah, I did not find any real firearms for a while in that game, I found ammo though. I did find a blunderbuss though and I totally used it lol. Although it made me miss my normal build, cause I usually do str/intel. If I were going to do the agility build again, I would probably scrap from the shadows and hidden strike, and just get bow, pistol and parkour. Later I would pick up run N gun and then head deep into fortitude.
  15. Yeah, just get parkour. If you get into trouble just place a wood frame ramp on the wall of any POI at a height of 3 and jump on it. Then shoot from relative safety.
  16. Yeah, I know the way some of the POIs are set up you can just do it sneaky with a un-silenced shotgun without any from the shadows, which is related to some of the issues Jost talks about. One funny thing you can do is get sneak attack kills with robotic sledges. It would be super funny to do a sneaky build where you have hidden strike and only use robotic sledges, heh.
  17. I was trying to help by pointing out that from the shadows does not really seem to do anything. Then maybe people would notice that stealth works just as well with a shotgun in a lot of places and see some of the problems. I feel like I am doing a bad job though, lel.
  18. I mean, it seems interesting... but I can kinda do the same thing by just escaping and hiding, without from the shadows. I did that early game with a dog on my stealth run, but he never even returned to a state where I could sneak attack him. Meh. You should try and do the same thing, but without any stealth skill. I am curious if you even see a difference at all. If you want to go the extra mile and try it with another silenced weapon, like a pump shotgun, that would be interesting as well.
  19. When I was testing stealth, I put all my points in hidden strike and from the shadows, so I was almost helpless when I hit scripted aggro, because I was basically just a guy with a quality 1 bow, lel. Stealth also seems to work just as well without from the shadows, so stealth is not really even an agility thing, other than a place to waste some points. Hidden strike is okay though.
  20. Yeah, I just meant in general, cause you have someone talking about stealth having problems and then someone defending stealth, when the issues are about investing in "from the shadows" being irrelevant to stealth, but if you can not invest in stealth then it does not really matter heh. Then comes the other issue about stealth being negated too often, which I agree with. At least decrease the detection range of zombies during the day if I invest in sneaking and am in sneak mode lel. But yeah you seem to be more on point about it and seem more invested in stealth than I am. I am just a guy helping out that does not really care about stealth, lel.
  21. I do not think most people really have a problem with stealth. Stealth works fine if you accept that scripted aggro in POIs is intended. The problem is that "from the shadows" does not really do much of anything. I can do stealth just fine on a strength build with a shotgun. So if you pump hidden strike and from the shadows, as I did at the start of my agility build, you quickly realize that most of the time you are just a guy with a level 1 bow and those points were wasted, heh. Parkour, pistols, bows and run and gun are all pretty great though, for the most part.
  22. Intellect needs a starter weapon of some kind, but it has a lot of good stuff. It is my favorite attribute atm. It is really all about that robotic sledge though, if you have not tried 2 of them yet, lol. They are so amazing. 50% extra steel and 25% extra concrete is not bad either if you max out advanced engineering, if you are a builder. Charismatic nature needs a change, it is either useless or super OP. Daring adventurer is okay, but probably overkill with barter maxed and not really worth it. Med skills are not bad for extra healing and I think are the only way to craft some of those buff items. Seriously though, a fully modded out robotic sledge is the difference between intel being meh or great. Try it if you have not.
  23. So I have said before how I like to farm resources at quest POIs. Sometimes clay and stone, or whatever nodes are on the property, before I start a quest. This time I was after some metal... ... Easy 5,000 iron, and I only had to deal with a near endless number of screamers, lel....
  24. So I was messing around doing this section of the tier 5 like this, for giggles... and then a cop blew up and this happened... ...I thought the whole tower was going to come down and I was going to die. Kinda amusing.
  25. Primitive Intel melee/ranged weapon.
