    while the fire power loot IS a little more than intended it's supposed to be heavy. non gun classes cannot make ammo at all without drops, starting weapons are pretty crappy in performance along with the player having no skills. it'll be a while in most cases until you find calipers to craft your ammo, and stuff takes a lot of bullets to kill... until you level up and get skills.

     

    ravenhearst is by no means created for or balanced around mp, it's tested more so in sp and is supposed to be difficult and extend the game.

    jax however created it for and with his MP server long before it grew into what it is. people confuse that with being made with mp in mind.

    server is mostly solo and small co-op, not hordes of players banding together.

     

    on food, get in those houses and loot. best chances for twine happen in the mundane dwellings, also.

    keep that salt and make jerky, food gets easier as it goes.

     

    In addition to this, if you have horde count max'd out in settings (assuming default difficulty level), you will easily use a majority of all that ammo on one horde night.

     

    IF loot amount is set to 100%, there should be plenty of food, even on MP servers. Dont make just one type of food, salt is as precious, if not more, as twine is. Later game higher end food uses a LOT of salt, so dont use it all on just jerky as suggested.

    This is known issue with those models. To avoid this problem, place forge / blacksmith station, then immediately start them and stop them.

     

    Will this work if you pick up the station and reposition it?

  2. Calipers have no slot in the Advanced Forge even though their description says they are used there.

    Also, the Bolt Rifle description says it has a scope when it doesn't, maybe that's meant to say that a scope can be attached?

     

    I've been to 5 traders and looted 5 cities {not completely} in 9 game days and still have not found a wrench.

    Are cabinets/stoves and Working Stiffs still the best place to find a wrench?

     

    EDIT- OK now this is getting crazy, I'm player level 12 on day 11 and scavenger level 42, and still no wrench

     

    EDIT 2- Found 2 wrenches at Higashi pharmaceutical YAY

     

    Wrenches are not meant to be found easily, consider yourself lucky to find one so soon.

  3. Id love to add more paintable stuff but right now the only way is to replace something in game already.

     

    I agree on 4.0 This release will be a 4.0 but I decided against holding off for A17 for two reasons

     

    1. The files and code is changing SO much that NONE of this matters. Trust me when I say you will NOT be doing things the same way in 17 as you are now so we wanted to make the most out of a lst version release on 16 and go all out.

     

    2. I dont know about you but Im PLAYING 17...possibly for months. NO mod will be done by me until at least Release 17.4 or 5. That could be 6 months from now for all we know. Im not going to constantly update such an intricate mod. Id love to play it first for a long while, then get to know the xmls and then plan out how it all fits. If you think the update is just a few changes here and there take it from me we will ALL be relearning how to do thing sin 17 when it comes to xmls.

     

    So some of our current ideas for 16 may not even be a thing in 17, replaced by better systems. So why not make the most out of 3.0/4.0 so it stands the test of time.

     

    Thanks Jax for the game plan. I can see your point, some of us may continue playing 16.4/3.x-4.x for creative mode. I've seen all the YT videos and the automatic doors sprouted major wood. And I thought I was excited by the elevators!

  4. @JaxTeller718 With a17 speculatively coming in July, wouldnt it be better to put 3.2 on hold until then? 60 days is not a long wait and I'd prolly be more interested in a 4.0 than 3.2 iteration.

  5. you don't get a class selection for finishing survival, did one of your friends give you one, or you completed the "station tools" quest (2 parts), that rewards a selection.

     

    aside from that, you scrap schematics into knowledge points and combine at the research desk.

     

    farmer is more difficult to *start* with, because of the combat challenge, as it's a support class.

    if you're working together in a group, things will be muuuch easier than if you were solo.

    along with what saku said, if you place a "static" trader, it should stay.

     

    nothing we can do about trader despawns, is a vanilla issue.

    In one game I've had the same trader go on permanent Lunch break 3 times, I got fed up and finally just moved the persistent trader outside next to the vending machine, no issues since.

  6. Long time no talk everyone. Came here to let everyone know we are hard at work on 3.2 (possibly 4) of RH and I come today with a small preview of what to expect.

     

    Rare Spawning POI that looks IDENTICAL to vanilla poi. Will have a crate of very special loot. VERY early test, zombie HP, box timer all to be adjusted. Tested on vanilla. I will be back with more previews. We have over 350 lines of changes and additions so far in this next release which has NO timeframe unfortunately. It is done when it is done as the Gods say :)

  7. Meh, I ended up making a script that just halves the hp and doubles the exp (though not higher than hp*3,5). :)

     

    This folks is a player that cant cut the mustard and play a mod was intended. Might as well enter dm mode and give yourself everything, so much for the challenge, eh. TBH, it's really not that bad once you gain a few levels and spend points in the right places. If you really want it easy and to level faster, I suggest WotW, although the next iteration of it will also have the exp gains trimmed down (confirmed).

     

    The thing about mods is if you dont like something about it, there are plenty more to try out. The more challenging mods, like RH, you really have to play as they were designed, otherwise why bother? Of course, you can always make your own.

     

     

    @cinda (snickers at the typo) I think exp from mining needs more cutting.

    take a couple stacks of dukes with you. I wound up buying after day 50 too ( 2 hour days), I almost didnt have enough when I ran across the trader with one, I bought so much other stuff along the way lol.

  9. ooh, I'll have to try this! for my main crafting window I usually just typed number strings into it to get the lag to stop but typing numbers into the crafting stations only worked once and then I'd have to redo it each time I checked that station, so this might make things easier.

    using favorites in the main craft window works well there too, still only use typed searches as a very VERY last resort.

  10. I'm not sure if I have an issue or its just working as intended.

     

    I'm having issues with the advanced workbench. Extreme interface lag...and I'm not exaggerating. All other benches and such do not experience this. Combining was a pain to do because of this interface lag. Secondly, I can't craft basic items with it. Items like wood spikes for example. I had to craft stone axes on a basic workbench to take them to the advanced workbench for combing.

     

    Is this normal? I just don't remember it being like this, but there hasn't been an update in the past few weeks according to mod launcher. Any advice is welcome :).

    using the favorites work around still works as long as the list stays on the first page, also using find recipes when clicking on an item helps too. I log in and go to each station and click favorites before doing anything else.

  11. Not sure what your point? Crossbow with steel cross bolts explodes heads same well, but very slow to reload.

    Also I was not talking about legolas skill. Even without it head explode with archery skill above 40 (nomad difficulty).

     

    And I've been playing RH 3 for hundreds of hours both SP and MP, and watched number of streamers playing it. Think by now I know what I'm talking about.

  12. To follow up, the 2x2 lift does not work at all for other players in MP. They will either not see it, or get an error when selecting a floor.

     

    If you have a LCB placed, the 2x2w will only work for yourself. If someone else drops a LCB, it could stop working for you.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    Sorry you having all these issues. Works pretty good for me and number of other people.

     

    1) No idea. 7D2D uses Steam for all these things, and it should work good

    2) How much memory do you have in your PC? This mod needs a lot.

    3) Water supposed to be scarce in this mod. Most seeds generate very little.

    4) Head shots are still a thing, and almost required to not waste ammo. But all zombies have 3 times (on average) as much HP as vanilla. You will not be single shooting zombies until good quality weapons and enough points in corresponding skills.

     

    water is not that scarce if you know where to look, lakes and oceans might be scarce.

     

    *snicker* If you cant find water in a snow biome, please uninstall the game! *snicker*

     

     

    It's not that broken. First, it's pretty rare, so having 600 quality LSAT is nearly impossible. Even having 300 quality would be very hard, especially on day 14. Second, LSAT is expensive to repair. Third, it's head shot modifier is only 4, comparing to 7 for steel crossbow bolt, and 12 (!) for reinforced crossbow bolt.

     

    Archer class by itself is nice, with good progression, and variety of weapons. But the repeating crossbow just makes everything else irrelevant. And it scales to the point of being OP very fast.

     

    I love when people come here and assume something is broken without really experiencing the mod. You might always want to note that there are no Skills for increasing dismemberment for the crossbow, but there is for a bow {regular and iron}.

    here are some feedback from my playthrought of 3.1.3 7 day horde,

    I am on Days 48 and i'm using 90 min. days, i'm level 85 and I faced and killed many zombie on each horde night. I have pistol, shotgun, rifle and survival class currently. I died 4 time, 1 was from a rocket 15m explosion and 1 from radiation. I also haven't done any serious mining.

     

    - right now i'm pretty much waiting to be able to craft trioxin to go to radiation biome, but for that I need a whole lot more levels since it require science 10 for the perk, I feel like science 8 would be better for the perk, now I will have to spend my time power levelling.

     

    - I got radiation poisoining from looting something inside the rad biome while I was outside the rad biome, its probably normal but that an annoying death because how quicky it kill you, I did manage to craft a bedroll and place it before death and after using 6 first aid kit, but would it be possible to get like a 30 to 60 seconds warning debuff before it transform into radiation poisoning if your still in the rad biome or rad container.

     

    - I have the pistol class but can't continue the quest since I never seen the five-seven, which was after the magnum killing quest, i'm guessing there will eventually be a desert eagle killing quest, I have a desert eagle, but I never seen the five-seven.

     

    - I have the rifle class and need to find hk g3

     

    - I have the shotgun class and need to find boomstick shotgun.

     

    Are those weapon only in the rad biome or is it level locked in loot, i'm wondering because a lot of my looting was from gunsafe, safe, guncrate, millary zombie and I never any of those. I also killed many nightmares monster and nightime zombie.

     

    - We don't really need it but could it be possible to get a x5 or x10 recipe for the ammo supply box.

     

    Overall I felt like the progression wasn't too bad with the exception of needing science 10 which mean level 120 to get trioxin perk

     

    I probably had more to say but I forgot.

     

    Ive had the opposite luck, I found 3 five-sevens and no desert eagles. I like the idea of combining ammo boxes into a x5 version. as for finding anything needed to advance class quests, I wish they could be found on traders maybe with Secret Stash 2 or 3, otherwise maxing out quality joe and scavenging is your only recourse.

  14. twine is almost everywhere- trash, cabinets, loot houses!

     

    Want-to-TRADE: 700 twine for 1 crowbar.

     

     

    If this has already been mentioned, I didn't see it: the minibike will fall through the 2x2 lift, at least in MP. Hence, it is unusable in MP with a minibike.

     

    It works fine with the platform elevator, but the latter has strange positioning (2x2 to position, but it's 2.5x2 and is off center to one side).

     

    EDIT: Also for the platform elevator, logging out and then back in MP, it will show on the ground position, even if it is actually not. Activating it will make it snap to top and come down.

     

    if the 2x2 elevator is not working its bugged and yes you have to have an unobstructed shaft all the way up and down. Also, afaik, the same player has to place both the base, placed first, and then additional floors for it to work without bugging out too.

     

    In previous versions (prior to 3.0 ) you could not use a LCB to pick up the 2x2, I think that was intentional but damn you have a really high price if you have to replace a floor. I hope that changes.

    -Painkillers now remove 0.1 wellness when taken and only remove 5 Hydration

     

    I can agree with the loss of wellness but not the loss of hydration, shoulda been left the same.

  16. well find a crowbar in working stiff will be fine but there its not any working stiff in most of the cities i really think the dinner tower low the spawn of that buildings in seeds

     

    there was an update to lower the spawn rate of the diner towers, it did help cuz that building is annoying as hell and was in every single city and town in previous iterations.

  17. They definately still exist. Just not in every city.

     

    ran thru 12+ cities with no crack a book and found only 2 working stiffs, i know it supposed to hard but this is ridiculous. oh and that strip mall is just as scarce

  19. Initial testing is over. We have now moved on to a wide test with our normal whitelist server to get a better feel of how it all feels in a normal play environment. That test begins today. Barring any major pitfalls (which we don't foresee but you never know) i would say 2 or so weeks is a pretty decent estimate to start looking for a release date.

     

    Our testers have been amazing but with so many balance changes and restarts we want to make sure play flows smoothly. I will say this, I myself have restarted about 8 times in the past week or so, and every single time I did the first 5 days were amazing. They were challenging, NEVER short on action or boring and most of all REWARDING. I love what we did here. This is certainly not vanilla, and it's not a tacked on mod. It feels VERY different in how you survive and where you go. Each restart was different depending on both my circumstances and my luck. I DO feel some may have a few issues with some of the changes but we all felt the changes we made were for the best in a world were the focus is on long term worlds and play and not on powering through the content. The changelist is going to be ...big. VERY big.

     

    To this day I am trying to get as many new assets and models in as possible before we MUST release, just because i want you guys to have so much new material to experience.

     

    Im very excited for you guys to get your hands on it as are our testers.

     

    I cant wait to play, and you can be sure you will have my feedback, in one form or another (LOL!).

     

    I dont remember if I mentioned this last time, being the server I was on wasnt updated, if you recall, but the windmill caused some serious lag (when it was active) when you looked in its general direction, that may or may not have been because of the lack of updates at that particular time. I know the games electric system has a few issues, but we are stuck with it until a17.

     

    I hope this phase goes well for you and crew. Cant wait to see the changelist too!.
