  1. Sorry! Haven't been on a bit, holidays, 2 kids, and 1 got Covid, so been really sick for a while (almost well now). I'll dive in after first of the year!
  2. Wow! Someone doesn't check for a few days and BAM! Awesomesauce! I will, tomorrow, list a few sites that offer free sounds, and put down some of the rules, but I suggest that people try with Foley as well... which is creating sounds themselves from different things (i.e. the old horse clop sounds from MGM were actually half coconuts smacked down on a wooden board placed on a concrete floor, with rhythm of course). I would actually say that people at least have a pack rating if its purely free-to-use (like from freesound.org) or with ripped/copyrighted sounds, so that we could maintain a IP free pack that we push. And, since I am a de facto sound engineer, I would be willing to go through them (albeit I probably wont be extremely fast, 2 kids, job, wife... etc. :D) to clean and categorize Sound design example (my voice too): This one is sound design, all of it with free to use sounds, recorded the speaker as well:
  3. I mean, I would totally be willing to get involved with this. Plus, to make the sounds the same levels, etc., would be no different than mastering a commercial for tv, for example. I do it all the time. There are some great programs for cleaning the hiss, etc., like iZotope rx8, or their audiolab cleaner, which could fix a lot of that. I also have a booth and Rode nt1a mic, and the samples are good enough for microsoft, pepsi, audi, etc., so could record whatever.... unfortunately, I'm based in Eastern Europe so it would be hard to get people here to help... but I can ask some local people if they would. You guys interested in doing a sound overhaul mod together? Cool about the doors mod... I'll check it out. Oh, and btw, about the finishing touches stuff... I absolutely and totally am of the opposite thought. People tend to forget we are using an audio/visual medium. No one even says anything about decent sound, only about fabulous sound or crappy sound. It fades in our list of importance as compared to visual, yet we rely on it for the realism quite a bit. There is absolutely no reason that it would need to be pushed to an afterthought mode or down the list... it is easily worked on simultaneously, and as with the alpha progressions, get better over time. Just my 2 cents
  4. Funny you should say this... I have been thinking the same thing for a while. I am also a professional VO artist (and actor) and I have lately been doing lots of animated stories with zombies, spiders, ghouls, etc. Also have recorded voices with some other peeps for an xbox game or two. But it would be a massive undertaking, just FYI. Getting it exactly right is pretty hard, especially for horror. Some of the weapon sounds changing would be nice, especially if there was occasional variance, such as a bank of 3 sounds for axe chopping rather than 1 stock, in which 1 was played 80% of the time, another 15 and another 5. Just to break it up. Anyhow, fun stuff. I would love to have a mod or API where you could include your own sounds as well. If I didn't have 2 little ones at home I would have already done one :)
  5. Hey, not complaining at all! I totally understood. May I ask generally then, what would raise the health once lost? Because quite literally nothing I try (other than adding those ranks of course) raises it, food, medpacks, weeks of in-game time, etc. Or is it a permanent loss? Really enjoying btw
  6. Hey, I know what you are saying KhaineGB, about the skill, yet this gentleman is correct. I upgraded the skill, and my max food level/health continually seems like it jumps down, and is stuck at 60. This is even when using medkits which should raise max health. Or medical bandages, or honey, etc. so on and so forth. Are we missing something? I don't remember it being like this before.
  7. Hi there! Loving the mod, really really awesome. In a previous version I was able to use lockpicking, but for some reason I can't get it to work now. Has a mechanic changed? I have the lockpick set in my toolbar and lockpicks in my inventory. I even put one set in toolbar, one set in inventory, lockpicks in toolbar and in inventory, and tried every combo i could think of, but no love. Am I doing something wrong here? Whenever I click on a safe, it gives me the clank sounds with the red x and lockpick symbol on the bottom right, no matter how many lockpicks I have anywhere. Thanks in advance!
  8. Hey, absolutely loving the mod too. Best I have played. I like the progression in it, makes it more like a real RPG, which is awesome for me. I second that about the wheels though. I can't find them anywhere in the recipes, and you would think that if you learned the bicycle, it would come with being able to make wheels for it as well (they, being part of the bicycle of course ) I tried at the workbench and had all the materials, but said I didn't know it. I kind of feel stuck at this one point, as I am ready to branch out into the wider world, and *whew* am I sweating a lot from running.... THANKS FOR THE GREAT WORK!
  9. Any chance you could tell us where to find this? what file, which commented section? (back on page 81-82, talking about the target bar)
  10. Very cool. Thank you very much for all your hard work. One question. I am limited to a 1920x1200 resolution when playing. Will this benefit my setup, even though I don't have a 4k monitor? Thanks! -Jonas
  11. fl00d3d-Hey, jotek! It's likely a RAM issue as others have pointed out. Though technically it should still work with 8GB of RAM. Are you getting any errors? Feel free to hop in our Discord to seek help from other players. http://www.tsugaming.com/voice No errors, although it definitely is way choppier than I would expect it to be... I got the laptop on a great deal while traveling back to the U.S. for holiday (I live in Eastern Europe now) and didn't get the ram while I was there. It really is the bottleneck I think, as I was playing on a desktop i5 2500k with 24gb ram and a gtx680 and it ran very well with great load times. Thanks for the info! Now if I could just find RAM here that wasn't worth a local monthly salary...
  12. Much longer load time? Hello all! Got a new laptop 2 months back, and just getting my games back on it. Installed 7D2D, runs fine. Installed Ravenhearst 4.2 from mod launcher. Again, ran fine, about 30-40 seconds to load. Now, though, with 4.3, it hangs when loading for 3 or 4 minutes. Is there any way I can check where/how this might be occurring for optimization purposes? Also, if I click anywhere on the screen during the long loading, the game crashes out, just FYI Specs of system- i7 8000 series, 1060 with max-q, 256gb ssd, 8gb ram. Dell Laptop, G7. Thanks in advance! -Jotek
