  1. The reward bug is fixed yes - we are not talking about the bug tho, but about more variability for rewards in general
  2. I think the major difference between these 2 is, that you can also loot gearfrom POIs. For workstations, getting them through books (and therefore putting points into INT) is pretty much the only way right now. And with as many different quest rewsrds as I want, you wouldnt get one for every quest, but maybe every 5-10 quests. And also later on, I dont mind having multiples of the workstations. Especially makind gas or gunpowder takes a LONG time for large amounts, and finding 5 more acid and another beaker for your 2nd chemstation is just as painful as for the first one..
  3. I agree with you on that - later (t5/t6) quests shouldnt just give you crazy amounts of q6 gear, but rather occasionally/rarely a good item and rather e.g.: - packs of 5x3 books for t5/6 instesd of 3x2 for t1-t4 - starting from T4: 150 (T4), 250 (T5) or 500 (t6) concrete mix instead of cobblestone - larger stacks of glue/ducttape (e.g. quest Tier x 5) - specific packs of 5 books (5 of the same, and you see which one you get) - Steel = 25 at t3, 40 at t4, 60 at t5, 100 at t6 - larger packs of actually good ammo (AP Ammo, Slugs,...) instead of just the "high tier" ammo reward right now which is c4, frag rockets or contact grenades. These are nice, but getting a 500 pack of AP 7.62 would help a lot more with doing T6 - starting from T4 or 5: Vehicle parts. T4 could occasionally give minibike parts, T5 motorcycle/4x4, T6: Gyrocopter - lower (t2, t3, t4) shoule have a chance to give gasoline. In every of my playthroughs I had far earlier access to a minibike, than to a chemstation to make gas. With the extrmely low amount of gas you now get from cars and barrels this means you almost cant use it until you have 50 in workstations. I think 1k/2k/4k/8k gasoline for t2/3/4/5 would be fair. Especially since even for T1 you get 10 molotow which equal to 3k gas. - workstations. Starting from T3: Forge, from T4: Workbench, from T5: Cementmixer/Chemststion, T6: Crucible These are just some quick suggestions I now came up with. Having so much more variety in the (mostly high level) quests would a) give you much more incentive to do quests for a longer time b) Lower the chances for crazy gear improvements and therefor skips of the whole progression (with pushing quests you will be fully T3 Q6 equipped no later than day 20...) c) give people incentive to actually make nice base builds and stay for the lonh run, when you get actually usable materials d) take a lot of pressure out of having to spec into int for workstations and vehicles instead of going for your attribute of choice.
  4. The dependency is explained ingame tho, but only "in one direction". What I mean: If you click on "Advanced Engineering" PERK it does not tell you what it will boost. If you click the "WORKSTATIONS" crafting tho (in the magazines tab), the description in the top right does tell you that advanced engineering and lockpicking boost youe chabces for books. This way around (description of the crafting skill, not the perk) I think all of them have their respective dependencies explained. Also: The magazines not only increase bookchance, but also the chance for dropping items and parts from the category. So if you're missing steel tool parts, the ways around this would be: 1) Skill into Miner69er for increased chance to drop them 2) Raise your Gamestage 3) Loot in harder Biomes wich will give you a higher lootstage - then focus on e.g. working stiffs and passngas crates. If you put 1-2 points into miner69er and drive to the snow to loot 1-2 working stiffs and 1-2 passngas stores (dont forget the normal shelves in the stores that seem to (optically) have tool-ish stuff in them), you will likely have enough steel tool parts.
  5. Fact is: This is wrong. Yes, some of the localization text of the PERKS is missing which lootchances the specific perk raises. BUT: If you go to the "Crafting Magazones" Tab and click "Workbenches" it will tell you in the top right description text, which perks will increase your chances. It would be better to have it written "in both directions" (so also at the perks description) - but saying it is written nowhere is wrong. Also: If you put 1-2 points in Adv. Engineering and Lockpicking each, you will get your workstations in a timely manner. Usually I have Forge day 2/3, worlbench day 4/5 and cement mixer around day 8-10. Which would mean steel around day 25, which seems pretty reasonable to me. But, this also means you should loot all the mailboxes etc. you see beginning from the first second. I agree on one thing tho, which i dislike: Once you "screwed up" its very hard to get back. What I mean: If you put a lot of points into other things that give bool chances, like a specific weapon skill, you will then get a lot more of these books from "general book storage" like mailboxes. This, in return, obviously means, that you will get less forge ahead books. So I would always focus on Workstations/Vehicles early to pump out a lot of these books - since you cant really get these things from loot/quests. Weapons and tools, I dont reeaally need to craft top often. So basically I just think the system did the exact opposite of what they wanted to achieve: You have even more incentive to go for Int and Workstations/Vehicles early on, instead of investing into your attribute of choice, than you did in A20... at least in A20 you would still get the progress if you went into Int later - now, even after you invest into Int later down the line, it will still take you a lot longer to get worlstations/vehicles going starting from that point, than it wouöd have taken you if you invested into int in the beginning.
  6. I have not had the case where I would get endgame Items like Steel Weapons crafted, before I looted/got them from quests. In my last playthrough I even went as far as only speccing into INT first, to get my workstations going faster by raising the chance for their books, as I knew I would get Tools and Weapons galore from quests before I could even get my crafting skill up. By Day 10, I had all workstations incl. Crucibles, a motorcycle, a blue autoshotgun, blue M60, blue impactdriver, purple auger+chainsaw... yeah.. thats how crazy quests are. The reward for quests needs to be tied to the biome the POI was done in - it makes no sense at all, that I can do a T5 infested quest (so a T4 POI) in the forest on day 6-7, that maybe takes me 10min to do and I get a blue autoshotgun from the quest, even tho the increased gamestage in the POI was still only 55 and I barely even get ferals... And I would get the same reward if I did this in the wasteland at GS 150+.... Thats the actual problem imho. I would even go as far as saying, that the new magazine system actually keeps me from speccing into my weapon of choice early on - since normal bookshelves can also give me workstation/vehicle books, I would much rather spend my points in those perks, so I will raise their chance of dropping and progress faster in the things that I CANNOT loot, instead of lowering the chance to drop them by raising the chance of tool/weapon books - tools and weapons will come by themselves over time, workstations and vehicles dont.. So for me, it does the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do..
  7. hey everyone, I just did the T5 Prison in the infested Version for the first time and I gotta say: kudos to the POI maker - that was @%$#ing crazy. Took me just shy of 2 entire ingame days and well over 1.000 rounds of ammo and several stacks of first aid.. Now to the bad point: Is it intended that there is no infested crate at the end? I "only" got normal T5 loot which, especially since it was my first T6 quest, was very dissapointing especially in terms of ammo "Lost" during the mission this way.. Is it always this way? Are there no infested crates in the infested T5 (aka. T6)? Because if so, I might not do these again, and that would be a shame because they are a hell of a fight... Also this is what I get from the trader for killing well over 300 zombies, at least 150 of which were radiated: Im sorry, but thats just so disappointing... I thought you said you worked on the T6 rewards with the last b317 patch?
  8. Hey Folks, does this mysterious "trader level" also impact the quality of mission rewards that you get? Because if so: You kind of overdid it, a lot, with that. This, 3rd, playthrough is the first one where I decided not to put too many points into int. Therefore I have only 1 point in daring adventurer. And I would be fine getting a little worse quest rewards as a result, since thats the "Quest Perk". But this: Is about my usual reward for a T5 Quest. Like... im sorry, but that doesnt seem right.. For every 3rd/4th quest, there might be one more useful item in there, but in general the rewards just stayed exactly the same since T2. Is it really the sense of the new trader level system, that if you dont level daring adventurer, you just dont progress past T2 rewards? It feels very, very lackluster and disappointing to even keep doing quests like this...
  9. Hi Everyone, so we all know that in A21 dogs are f*ing demons, and if you run into dogs on day 1, you probably are better off just exiting the game and starting over. But after all its a survival game and I want to try and survive situations. So. I spawn next to a T1 POI. The POI has a dog in the yard I didnt see right away. I craft my normal @%$#, Bow, couple of blocks etc and start running to the trader and sure enough, the dog aggros as I run by a good bit outside the POI. I stack blocks, stand on top, hit it a couple times in the head with my bow, until he finally destroys the block and I fall down. He hits me *ONCE*. A single hit. before I can kill him with my spear. This *one* singular hit gave me: Bleeding Concussion Fatiqued Abrasion Are you kidding me? I get its an infected dog and you probably really dont want to fight that in a real zombie apocalypse. But 4 critical injuries on ONE hit seems a bit too much. It honestly is a bit @%$#ed up... So now I will likely run around the first 2 days with ~45ish max HP, occasional blurred vision and (thats the worst part): a much, much, much higher chance to get new and more critical injuries since I already have some... I mean, cmon guys. I have 3.000 hrs in the game and might be able to deal with this, but what about players that are new to the game? If I was new I would have closed that sucker down and just uninstalled and refunded tbh. Same goes btw. for T1 POIs that have @%$#ing landmines around them - I spawned in a game made 3 steps for my quest and blew up. like wtf? What about: - No dogs in T1 POIs - no landmines around T1 POIs (or at least around the ones you spawn next to) - only 1 critical injury per hit max. - lower block damage on dogs, so you can realistically use half broken doors/stacked blocks to actually kill them with prim-weapons even on higher difficulty - dogs dont aggro outside their POI if they are sleepers Just as a few suggestions... Any thoughts on this?
  10. Hey Everyone! Loving A21 experimental so far, but I'm having a bit of an issue with loot quality. This (image) is my hotbar on day 19. Im Level 45-ish, looting in the snow - so its completely reasonable I have purple Iron tools and T2 weapons I think - no problem with that. BUT: I have never, not a single time, found any of these items in a quality other than 6. Neither in early game (only found stone stuff in different quality levels), nor later on (only found some of them twice or three times, but always quality 6). Nor have I ever found the "better version" of the items, say a steel tool or auto shotgun. It seems to me, like they have a way to determine the quality of item you get by "loot stage" or whatever, and a system to determine which Tier of item (like Stone, Iron, Steel) - but for some reason, the quality counter doesnt seem to reset when you jump to the next tier - like if I got tier 5/6 stone, I should then get tier 1/2 iron - but instead I went right to tier 6 Iron, as if the "Quality" was just maxed out due to my gamestage. And I would bet that from Iron Tier 6 I will, at some point, jump straight to Steel/T3 Weapon Quality 6... Anyone else encountering this? Or is it my imagination and luck? Cant imagine its normal that I find multiple T6 Iron Pickaxes, but never found a single Iron pickaxe of lower quality, nor a single steel pickaxe... This seems rather odd, especially given how gradual the progression with the new magazine system is... And now that I think of it, I have seen a good amount of youtubers, that had the exact same thing happen - e.g. GNS, who found a Iron Fireaxe, Pickaxe and Sledge all Quality 6 in a matter of maybe 5min, but never any other quality afaik.. Thoughts?
  11. Fair enough, I had the feeling that if you did enough quests, you will get mroe ammo than you use - on average. But thats also only a gut feeling after 3 "playthroughs" until day 10-20ish
  12. I must add: I am aware, that this problem "solves" itself, as soon as I up the difficulty by bullet sponge zombies. Default difficulty is fairly easy for me with 3k hrs in 7dtd and several thousand in FPS games. I wanted to give it a shot with the new Alpha and see how the balancing goes. On warrior difficulty I still get along pretty good with what I find ammo wise, above that I find myself needing to farm for ammo. I just figured, that the loot should probably be balanced for default difficulty, and above that I should start struggling to find enough ammo.. I didnt feel like there was less ammo in early game. I never used much early game in this playthrough, but since you can constantly get 60 or even 100 Bullets for finishing quests at the trader, while needing max. 10-15 to finish the quests, even when you constantly use guns, I could pile up so much in the early game, its not even funny
  13. Dynamic Mesh it was. Dynamic mesh "on", pins my GPU at 100% instantly, as soon as I look towards the city, and also increases RAM usage by a good 3gb. It's a nice feature, but should maybe be turned off as default and set with a warning, that only high-end hardware will be able to run it properly. Thanks everyone!
  14. So, let's talk ammo in loot in A20. I like the idea, that ammo isn't TOO scarce, and that you can actually use the pipe weapons now and then by finding ammo early game and so on. But seriously - this is just too much. This is on Day 20, default everything (other than 64 zombie hordes). NOTHING in this chest was crafted (beside the gas and the bullet casings). I mainly used 9mm for "daily driving" and 7.62 for both horde nights (no passive traps, no explosives). I didnt buy any ammo from traders, also didnt pick ammo as mission reward. Never mined a single bit of coal or nitrate. But still I am sitting here with almost 2.000 shotgun shells, around 2500 9mm and almost 1500 7.62 ammo. I think this is a tad too much. I like all the other loot tho, so changing loot % overall, will lead to the game being way less fun for me. It's a pitty. What do you guys think? Does this actually make sense, to have THIS much ammo in loot..?
  15. Not 100% sure tbh. I am 100% sure now however, that it is indeed gpu caused. Kind off odd to me, given I already turned everything to "low" and am on a 1080, so I should be fine - but as soon as the frames drop, GPU sits pinned to 99%. Soo.. yeah. Sucks a bit, but oh well. It's experimental alpha for a reason I guess.
  16. Hey Guys, I'm on A20, B218, fresh install, day 13. Whenever I enter the Wasteland and turn towards N/NE direction, my frames drops significantly. They go from around 60-70 down to around 20. Console doesn't give any errors, nothing pointing towards a corrputed chunk or something.. I turned down almost all graphic settings with little to no effect ((went from 20 to 23) because I figured it might be a problem with the wasteland effects and my GPU, it is not though. My CPU is usually sitting at 40-45% (in every other Biome and looking any other direction), but when I look N/NE in the wasteland, it goes down to 15-20%. So neither graphic settings have an effect, nor is my CPU load higher when looking in this direction (awkwardly enough its even lower, indicating a GPU or RAM bottleneck..) , but still my frames drop to the point of unplayability. It does NOT depend on wether the wasteland-city is in this direction or not. It still drops. And it's *not* the A20 microstutters that are caused by dynamic music - already turned that off, and solved this problem Playing on an i7-7700k, 16gb ram (around 5gb used by 7dtd, not changing in these situations), gtx0180, newest drivers. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!
  17. Nice idea - tried that, but it doesnt do anything. I have no idea what drones.dat contains - it's not necessary data for the drone tho I think Drone is still there, still up and running, no change in condition, after I deleted both drones.dat and drones.bak.dat oder smth like that. If it was on a server, there are multiple server adming mods, that allow the removal of entities with their entity ID. I have the ID of the drone, but sadly none of these options work on singleplayer as there is no built-in console command to remove an entity afaik.
  18. Cant give it other mods unfortunately, since you need to pick them up to do so..
  19. Singleplayer, Version b218 Fresh install, played for ~23 hours without any problems Soo.. I went to my local trader just to see him gone. I saw in several videos before, traders "changing position" along the Z-Axis, so I went into DM to search for him upwards and downwards of his original position. Found him underneath, but in the process, my drone, that was following me, followed me through the mesh and fell through the world. This would not be a major problem, since I could just go grab it with dm. But since the drone is under the map it won't let me pick it up though. I am flying right beside it, but it only lets me open the inventory or pin-code it. It does not follow me and stays stationary "down there". It cannot be destroyed, neither by "kill" command, nor by rockets/guns/tools. Soo.. Is there a way I can remove it? I do have its entitity ID and could easily replace it via the cm if I was able to remove it - but as long as its sitting there, I cannot deploy a new drone or even a turret which would pretty much mess up my save sadly. Couldnt find any remove entitiy commands that work without mods, or even at all in a single player game... Just removing the chunk or smth probably wont work, since my trader is right on top.. Thanks!
  20. The second bug has also been around for ages. It happens when you keep holding "W" all the way while riding, without releasing it or stopping and then at the end, you get off your bike while still holding "w". I am under the impression, that this leads to the game not updating the position of the vehicle properly and as soon as you get out, the vehicle ports back to the last "known" location - which is where you started. To prevent this, dont get off a moving vehicle. Bring it to a full stop, and only then get out. It (mostly) prevents it...
  21. I tried that, did 2 tier 1 quests for him and it didnt change anything. Relogging also didnt change anything, and refreshing the quests via dm also didnt do anything. It's also not the case for every trader - some of them seem to be connected but I just checked again and in fact, out of the 5 traders I found, 3 seem to share the quest-stage, while the other 2 have me start over at tier 1. I didnt, however, check, if the 3 "connected" traders are "duplicates of each other" - like multiple trader Jen's or something. They are definitely spread out through the forest and desert though, while the "not connected" ones are located in the forest and the wasteland. So it doesnt seem to be connected to location..?
  22. Someone else posted that these micro stutters vanished for them, when they turned of dynamic music in game. Didnt have a chance to try it myself, but maybe that helps!
  23. So, I was living in the forest and quested up to tier 5, found 4 traders and everything worked beautifully. Then the 5th trader is located in the wasteland and I wanted to quest there, since the higher lootstage seems worth it. But he only gives me T1 quests? Relogging doesnt help, doing a quest or 2 for him also doesnt help. Is this intended? That I have to farm back up to tier V because wasteland traders are on their own or something? Didnt read about it and am a bit confused Thanks for answers!
  24. BTW The advanced brass catcher says it gives you 100% of all casings but it sure as hell doesnt. Maybe realistically around 50% on an automatic rifle. maybe even less. But sure as hell not 100%. Is that intended and has just been changed from previous versions so it isnt OP? Or is that a bug?
